Abstract

The thermal insulation unit, for use between a building (2) and a projecting outer section (3) and especially with a steel construction, has an insulating body (4) with integrated tension and pressure and possibly lateral force units (10,12,13,14). Mounting plates (5,6,8,9) are carried on both sides of the insulating body to link the outer section to the building. The insulation body, together with its mounting plates, is divided into an upper (1a) and lower (1b) section. The mounting plates of the upper insulation section are linked to the pressure units (12) at the lower section by tensioners (10). The mounting plates of the upper and lower sections are at a vertical gap from each other, and the insulation bodies are fitted in succession without spacers.
