A removal station 18 can be provided on the conveyor path for the purpose of removing printed products 5 before they are delivered to the inserting machine 4. The drive elements 27 acting on the roller 12 can, as illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 3 and 5, be formed by fixed or adjustable control cams 19.
Driven control means, for example a revolving belt 20 acting on the drive roller 12, as shown in FIG. 4, can also be used as alternative drive elements 27.
The effect of adjustable cam 19 or driven control means 20 can be switched off. Due to the processing and arrangement of the processing devices according to FIG. 1, the control cams 19 or control means 20 of the feed 16 and discharge station 17, respectively. To process larger printed products 5 that require a longer feed path, the control cams 19 or the control means 20 are approximately as long as two spacing intervals of two receiving means 8 fastened to the pulling element 13.
