Definitions
- the technical sector of the present invention is that projectile containers.
- the object of the present invention is to propose a medium to handle projectiles while offering a high level of security between a remote storage location from the loading position in the weapon.
- Another object of the invention is to enable the conveying projectiles and modular loads using from the same conveying system.
- the subject of the invention is therefore a container for a projectile simultaneously conveyed with a container of modular loads using the same transfer system for loading a weapon, characterized in that comprises a rigid tubular body provided with an interface of supported by the transfer system and a means of blocking the projectile in said container.
- the interface is constituted by a crown projecting from the outer surface of the body and this is arranged at one end of the body.
- the blocking means is consisting of retractable cleats arranged at the level of the inner wall of the body.
- the container comprises a set of cleats adapted to come into contact with the base of the projectile and a set cleats able to be applied on the projectile warhead.
- the cleats are retractable by rotation, for example in dwellings practiced in the thickness of the body around axes of rotation fixed in said housing.
- the container comprises three stops resting on the base of the projectile and three cleats in support against the projectile's warhead.
- the body is metallic and includes a longitudinal slot to ensure the passage the pulse means of the transfer system.
- the container comprises a marking element to ensure its identification.
- One advantage of this is that everything throughout the transfer of the projectile from the area of filling to the loading position in the weapon, it is protected and does not suffer any shock.
- Another advantage lies in the standardization of means of transfer for both the projectile and the propulsive charge since the same interfaces can be provided at the container level.
- Yet another advantage of the present invention lies in the scalability of these containers because the system weapon is still able to use them because the modification of the projectile does not change the functionality of the container.
- the projectile container is intended to be integrated in a transfer system from a store up the weapon implementing this type of charge. We understand that when this distance is important, avoid any degradation of projectiles and of course any fall or shock. The handling of the container by means of grasping of the transfer system should not cause any interference with the projectiles.
- FIG. 1 shows a view of the container 1 in the form of an open tubular body 2 at both ends.
- This body must be realized in one material sufficiently rigid to be able to withstand shocks to which it is subjected. We can for example realize this metal body.
- the body 2 is provided along a generator of a slot 11 giving access to the interior following a given length.
- the body includes at one of its ends a crown 4 on which the means of handling and handling of the transfer system (no represented) will come to act to convey and block the container during transport.
- the container 1 can be transferred from a first storage warehouse to a intermediate warehouse using a transfer chain, then from the intermediate store to a loading cylinder in which he can be immobilized to ensure the transfer of the projectile into the chamber of the weapon. We see that during all these transfers and manipulations it is imperative that the projectile be protected and subtracted from any direct action.
- the container 1 may further comprise a circuit electromagnetic 12 to recognize its content, that is to say the type of projectile, to memorize information even in case of power failure electrical and therefore to recognize the configuration in ammunition from the power system at any time in especially when powering up again.
- information content can be read at certain transfer stages of the container using an implanted reader as needed the ammunition management system.
- the reader On arrival in a zone, for example the filling area, the reader transmits a signal in the form of a weak electromagnetic wave power to the circuit 12. This wave brings the energy circuit 12 to transmit the code stored in its non-volatile memory or erase it and recording a new code.
- This code is of course specific to each loaded projectile and is in the form of a code binary of 3 or 4 bits.
- This type of circuit incorporating a chip is well known and does not have to be described anymore in detail.
- the container according to the invention allows a support and a immobilization of a projectile positively in all directions of space and during all conveying and / or hoisting phases thereof, the releasing the cleats reliably and simply and finally Isolation vis-à-vis nominal external aggression and / or accidental. Even in case of inflammation accidental the dreaded effects are directed along the axis longitudinal of the container.
- FIG. 2 a cross-section is shown container 1 in which a projectile 3 is present.
- the body 2 is provided, in the plane of the figure, at its base dwellings 7 of which only one is visible on the section and at its upper part of housing 8 of which only one is also visible in the figure.
- Accommodations 7 and 8 are practiced in the thickness of the body wall and open out towards inside.
- the housings 7 receive cleats 5 intended to be applied on the base of the projectile 3. These cleats 5 are retractable and free to fade into their accommodation in a single direction to allow the passage of the projectile.
- the cleats 5 are articulated around an axis 9 attached to the body 2.
- the housings 8 are intended to receive the cleats 6 coming on the warhead of the projectile 3.
- the surface cleats 6 opposite the warhead can be consistent according to the external profile of this warhead.
- the cleats 6 are retractable and fade into their homes 8 for allow the extraction of the projectile.
- the blockage is ensured in deployed position of the cleats 6.
- These locking means are consist of cams and are subject to the action of a means of maneuver ensuring their retraction when the projectile is introduced or extracted from the container. The way maneuver is operated only at filling and unloading containers. During the conveying, the cleats are maintained positively by a device internal to the container.
- FIG. 3 a cross-section is shown practiced at the cleats 5 and we see the layout three cleats equally distributed over a diameter of body, for example at 60 °.
- the container is then supported by the system transfer from the transfer area to the loading position where the projectile can be extracted of the container.
- the unlocking of the means of blocking the cleats 6 and the projectile is then supported by the pusher, an impeller for example, which passes through the slot 11 and comes to exercise a push to clear the cleats 6 and introduce according to a process known the projectile in the barrel chamber.
- the empty container is brought back by the transfer system at the level of the filling to be garnished again with the help of a projectile.
- the circuit 12 is again incremented for identify the projectile introduced and a new cycle is started.
