Definitions
- the invention relates to a rotary lock cylinder for a security lock, with a housing and at least one rotor having a key channel, with ' tumblers which are to be classified with an associated key for enabling the rotor to rotate, with a driver and with at least one extension element attached to the effective part of the rotary lock cylinder ,
- Rotary lock cylinders of this type are generally known. These can be double locking cylinders or simple cylinders. Double locking cylinders can be operated from both sides, while simple rotating locking cylinders can only be operated from one side. Such rotary lock cylinders can be manufactured with very high locking security and are particularly suitable for the construction of locking systems.
- extension elements are built on both sides of the driver and thus become the effective part moved outwards in both directions away from the driver.
- the effective part is the part that is provided with tumblers.
- the extension elements on the other hand, have no tumblers and are therefore not effective for locking.
- the associated keys do not have to be changed in the case of such an extension. The keys therefore always have the same length regardless of the length of the locking cylinder.
- the inventor has set himself the task of creating a rotary lock cylinder of the type mentioned, which is further improved in terms of security technology and which is nevertheless inexpensive to manufacture.
- the object is achieved in a generic rotary lock cylinder in that the extension element is attached to the outside of the effective part at a distance from the driver and in that the key shaft is essentially extended in accordance with the length of this extension element.
- the extension element In the known rotary lock cylinders, even after the construction of an extension element, the effective part always sits extremely on the attack side. In contrast, in the rotary lock cylinder according to the invention, the effective part sits on the protected side in terms of safety. If, for example, an attempt is made to drill out the rotary lock cylinder, the extension element must first be drilled through. To effectively prevent this, it is easily possible to attach the extension element to the design the handle side so that it cannot be pierced.
- a significant advantage of the rotary lock cylinder according to the invention is also seen in the fact that a modular system can be built up with the extension elements.
- the extension elements have different lengths. Simply because of the different key shafts, these can be structured hierarchically.
- the rotatable inserts of the extension elements can also be profiled.
- the key shafts of the assigned keys are profiled accordingly. Compared to the known profiling of rotors, this means a significant rationalization.
- the profile of the key and the length of the non-effective part of the key can thus additionally be varied in the rotary locking cylinder according to the invention. The number of closings and thus the security of the lock can thus be increased with comparatively low additional costs.
- the effective part of the rotary lock cylinder is formed by a short cylinder.
- This short cylinder is preferably designed as a safety device.
- the length of this short cylinder is dimensioned so that it can be installed in a lock case without protruding from the side.
- the effective part of the rotary lock cylinder is thus protected in the lock and can be covered by an extension element at least on the attack side. If the extension element is partially or completely made of hardened steel, for example, there is very high protection against attack, since the effective part is protected by the extension element.
- the invention also relates to a modular system with several rotary lock cylinders according to the invention and a key for such a rotary lock cylinder.
- a key according to the invention there is the advantage that it can be profiled with little effort and thus makes unauthorized copying difficult.
- FIG. 1 shows a section through a rotary lock cylinder according to the invention
- FIG. 2 shows a view of a short cylinder without extension elements
- FIG. 3 shows a further view of the short cylinder according to FIG. 2,
- FIG. 4 shows a section along the line IV-IV
- FIG. 5 shows a view of the cylinder according to the invention, individual parts being pulled apart
- the rotary lock cylinder 1 shown in FIG. 1 is a double rotary lock cylinder and has an effective part 2 and an extension element 3 and 3 '.
- the effective part 2 consists of a housing 5, in which a plurality of slides 30 for tumbler pins, not shown, are used in a manner known per se.
- a driver 6 is mounted in the housing and can be rotated to activate the lock after a rotor 8 has been released.
- the rotor 8 can be a continuous rotor or it can also consist of two rotor parts in the usual manner.
- the rotor 8 is axially secured in the housing 5 by means of a locking ring 31.
- the extension elements 3 and 3 'each have a housing 14 or 14' that can be of different lengths.
- a bore 12 or 12 ' is machined into each housing 14 or 14', in each of which a rotatable insert 9 or 9 'is inserted from the rear.
- a radially projecting collar 10 of the insert 9 or 9 ' is mounted in a corresponding recess 13 or 13' of the rear 24 or 24 'of the housing 14 or 14'.
- a protruding projection 15 or 15 ' is formed, which engages in a corresponding recess 25 of the housing 5, as shown in FIG. 1.
- the lugs 15 and 15' have a transverse bore 16 through which a pin 26 (FIG. 1) is inserted. This pin connects a housing 14 and 14 'to the housing 5.
- the extension elements 3 and 3' are thus firmly connected to the housing part 5.
- a channel 11 or 11 ' is incorporated into each insert 9 or 9', which is intended for receiving an extension area 21 of a key 17 with a handle 18 and shaft 19.
- This channel 11 or 11 ' is continuous and leads into a corresponding channel 27 (FIG. 3) of the rotor 8.
- the channels 11 are preferably profiled according to FIGS. 6a to 6d and have inwardly projecting ribs 28 which correspond to grooves 22 of the key 17 are formed.
- a key 17 can therefore only be completely inserted into the channels 11 or 11 '. be performed when the extension region 21 has a profile 22 corresponding to the ribs 28.
- the profiling 28 can be designed differently, as clearly shown in FIGS. 6a to 6d. Such different profiles 28 allow a hierarchical structure of many keys 17 to 17 '''of a locking system, as is also shown in FIGS. 6a to 6d.
- the extension elements 3 and 3 'each have a certain length A and A', which are determined by the distance between the inside 24 and an outside 29.
- This length A or A ' corresponds essentially to the length B of the extension region 21 shown in FIGS. 6a and 6d.
- the lengths A and correspondingly the lengths B can be different in a locking system and a modular system, as can be seen in FIGS. 6a to 6d ,
- FIGS. 6a to 6d merely show examples of a possible profiling of a key 17.
- the grooves 22 can be varied with regard to their position and their depth as well as the cross section. A large number of such profiles are known to the person skilled in the art.
- An embodiment is also conceivable in which the key 17 is not profiled in the extension area 21.
- the extension area 21 can also be varied in cross-section without profiling. For example, the area 21 can be different for different keys be wide.
- the channels 11 of the associated rotary lock cylinders 1 are of different widths.
- the grooves 22 can also extend over the shaft region 19. The area 19 can thus also be profiled.
- Figures 6a to 6d show keys 17 to 17 '''of a locking system. These keys 17 to 17 '''differ at least in the length of the extension region 21. These different lengths are designated B' to B '' 1 in FIGS. 6a to 6d. If a rotary lock cylinder now has an extension element 3, in which the length A is substantially equal to the length B, this rotary lock cylinder can be conditioned with all keys 17 to 17 '''. If, however, the extension element 3 has a length A which corresponds to the length B ' 1 , this rotary lock cylinder cannot be operated with the key 17 (FIG. 6a). However, this rotary lock cylinder can be operated with the keys 17 'to 17'''.
- FIG. 1 shows a rotary lock cylinder 1 in which the effective part 2 is preferably a short cylinder.
- the length D of this short cylinder 2 is substantially smaller than that of a conventional double rotary lock cylinder and corresponds essentially to the strength of a conventional lock case.
- the short cylinder 2 or the effective part is extended at both ends with an extension element 3 or 3 '.
- the rotor 8 of the effective part 2 is preferably continuous.
- the key 17 is inserted into the rotary lock cylinder 1 from the left side thereof. This key 17 can also be used to classify the tumblers not shown here from the other side.
- the extension elements 9 'to 9''' can each be composed of several shorter elements. These elements have a thickness of 5, 10 or 15 mm, for example, and are strung together. With a few units, very different lengths can be achieved. This simplifies storage and the manufacturing costs can be kept low. Since the short cylinder 2 already ensures a high level of locking security, the extension elements 9 'to 9 1 ' 1 can be made of an inexpensive material, such as zinc, plastic or brass.
