Abstract

Elektronisches Gerät, insbesondere Frankiermaschine, mit einer zentralen Verarbeitungseinheit (2), wenigstens einem mit der zentralen Verarbeitungseinheit (2) verbundenen ersten Speicher (3), in dem wenigstens eine positionsspezifische Programmeinheit abgelegt ist, auf welche die Verarbeitungseinheit (2) zur Konfiguration oder zum Betrieb der Verarbeitungseinheit (2) oder einer mit der Verarbeitungseinheit (2) verbundenen Funktionseinheit (5, 6, 7) zugreift, und einer mit der Verarbeitungseinheit verbundenen Positionsbestimmungseinheit (4), wobei in dem ersten Speicher (3) eine Anzahl von positionsspezifischen Programmeinheiten abgelegt ist und die Verarbeitungseinheit (2) derart ausgebildet ist, dass sie in Abhängigkeit von der mittels der Positionsbestimmungseinheit (4) ermittelten Position des Gerätes auf die der Position entsprechende positionsspezifische Programmeinheit im ersten Speicher (3) zugreift. Entsprechendes Verfahren zum Betreiben oder Konfigurieren eines elektronischen Gerätes.
