Description

The present invention relates to a device for fixing extra glasses on glasses.

These devices are most often used to mount filter glasses (glasses of protection against solar radiation) on glasses with corrective lenses and are usually of a standard type that does not match the mount of glasses. They are also equipped with glasses that do not have the shape of corrective lenses glasses, so that the whole formed the device with filtering glasses and glasses correctors is rather heavy, cumbersome and aesthetic. In addition, these known devices have hooking means on the glasses, which are more or less well adapted to the mount of glasses.

It has already been proposed, in US Pat. No. 5,920,370, a device of this type which is formed of a bridge in flexible material and two supports also in flexible material that are fixed by screws on the bridge. Nylon threads are attached or hung on supports for mounting glasses on supports. Hooks are also mounted by screw on the brackets for fixing the device on glasses. This device adapts better to the shape of the spectacle frame, thanks to the flexibility of the bridge and supports, but its manufacture and its assembly are relatively complex, long and expensive, because of the bindings by screws hooks and brackets.

The two branches supporting the extra glasses are not connected by a bridge (in the usual sense of that term), but by a series of five branches forming a vertical U and a horizontal U.

The horizontal U serves as hooking means on glasses of glasses.

According to DE-A-196 04 790, the connecting means between the extra glasses include three branches forming the horizontal stirrup in U on the glasses deck, and two branches that start from the stirrup and extend downwards oblique, along the edges of glasses glasses, and end with elbows connected to the branches supporting the extra glasses. This linkage structure is complex and therefore expensive.

The device according to DE-A-196 04 790 is not adaptable automatically and without modification to all the glasses. An optician must, with pliers, modify the elbows of the caliper to adapt the width of this stirrup to the length of the glasses bridge: if the stirrup is too wide, we do not can mount it on the glasses and if it is too narrow, it becomes visible and the branches go lean on the nose of the person wearing the glasses and will embarrass her. Besides the document mentioned above shows that the width of the stirrup corresponds exactly the length of the bridge of the glasses.

In addition, it is also necessary to adapt the length of branches at the distance between the glasses bridge and the lower edges of glasses glasses; if not editing is impossible.

The purpose of the invention is in particular to simplify the manufacture and assembly of such a device and therefore to lower the cost.

It is also intended to make such a device adaptable to any type of telescope.

It proposes for this purpose a attaching additional glasses to glasses, as defined in claim 1.

The features of the device of the invention simplify a lot the structure of it, simplify also its manufacture and assembly, increase its reliability and greatly reduce its cost price.

In addition, the flexibility of the bridge and branches allows a good adaptation to the shape of glasses and in the shape of the frame of the glasses.

Advantageously, the bridge and the branches hoses are made in one piece by molding, in particular of plastics or metal.

According to yet another characteristic of the invention, the attachment means are formed in one piece with said branches.

Thus, a single molding operation makes it possible to realize a device comprising a bridge, support branches glasses and means hooks, such as flexible hooks, for fixing the device on glasses.

According to yet another characteristic of the invention, at least some of the means are attached to the flexible wires of fixing the glasses on said flexible branches.

Advantageously, these attachment means are adjustable in position, sliding on the wires Flexible.

This makes it possible to adapt the device according to the invention to any form of spectacle frame.

In general, the device according to the invention is extremely simple since it can be made in one piece, it is light, little visible and compact and it is adaptable to all types of frames and spectacle lenses.

The invention will be better understood and other characteristics, details and advantages thereof will appear more clearly on reading the description which follows, given by way of example with reference to the appended drawings in which:
  • Figures 1 and 2 are front and top views respectively of a first embodiment of a device according to the invention;

  • FIG. 8 is a view from above of the attachment means of FIG. 7.

We first refer to Figures 1 to 5 which represent a first embodiment of the invention.

In these figures, the device carrying the extra glasses, called "face" in the technical, includes a molded assembly of a single piece, consisting of a deck or deck 10, two side branches 12 and means 14 hooking glasses, the bridge 10 being connected to its ends to middle or intermediate parts lateral parts 12 and the attachment means being curved legs oriented towards outside.

The lateral branches 12 form means of support for additional glasses such as filtering glasses to protect against solar radiation, and they are initially rectilinear or curved in an arc. On their the outer side with respect to the bridge 10, these branches include a series of projections 16 intended to fit into the peripheral groove of a glass.

At their ends, the branches 12 comprise one or two holes 18 for passing a nylon thread or analog to be engaged in the groove device 20 of a glass 22 for fixing this glass on the room 12.

The whole formed by the bridge 10, the branches side 12 and the hooks 14 is molded for example by injection into a plastic material such as nylon or the like, or possibly metal. The glasses 22 to be mounted on the face are cut to the same shape and dimensions the glasses of the glasses on which the face must to be mounted. For mounting lenses 22, we pass one end of a nylon thread in one of the holes 18 of a lateral branch 12, the end of this wire to form a ball retaining the wire and preventing it from coming out through the hole 18, we place the glass on the side branch 12 by engaging the protrusions 16 in the peripheral groove of the glass and by bending the branch 12 to adapt to the contour of glass, the necessary length of wire is determined of nylon, we engage the other end of this thread in a hole 18 of the other end of the branch 12, the glass being removed from the branch 12, and heating the other end of the nylon thread to form a retaining ball of this wire in the 18 hole corresponding. Then we go up the glass to inside the support formed by the branch 12 and the nylon thread whose ends are fixed in the holes 18 of the ends of the branch 12, the elasticity of nylon thread and branch 12 allowing a tight fitting of the glass in its support.

On procède de même avec le deuxième verre et la deuxième branche latérale 12.The same goes for the second glass and the second lateral branch 12.

The face is then ready to be mounted on glasses, simply by engaging the hooks 14 on the glasses or on the frames of the glasses.

In this embodiment, the branches 12 are applied on the side edges of the glasses 22 on the side of the bridge 10.

The shape and size of the glasses 22 being identical to those of glasses of the glasses, the face mounted on the glasses is very little apparent and does not do not disturb the vision of the wearer of the glasses.

The ends of the bridge 10 can be connected to the lateral branches 12, perpendicular to these branches as shown in Figure 3, substantially tangentially.

Le dispositif des figures 1 à 5 est adaptable à un grand nombre de montures de lunettes différentes, grâce à la flexibilité du pont 10 et des branches latérales 12.The device of FIGS. 1 to 5 is adaptable to a lot of different spectacle frames, thanks to the flexibility of bridge 10 and branches lateral 12.

The embodiment variant represented in Figures 6 to 8 has the advantage of being universal, that is to say, adaptable to all types of frames, including thick plastic mounts. In this variant embodiment, the bridge 10 is substantially rectilinear shape and extends at the level of top edge of the glasses 22 or slightly above from this upper edge, and is connected to branches side 12 surrounding the glasses 22 on substantially half of their periphery, on the outside or opposite side of the bridge 10 as shown on the left-hand side of Figure 6, or surround these glasses along their upper edge only, as shown on the right-hand side of the figure 6.

In the first case, the lateral branches 12 comprise, of molding, fastening hooks 14 the device on a spectacle frame, by example two hooks 14 at the ends of a branch 12 and a third hook substantially at middle of this branch.

As in the previous embodiment, the ends of each side branch 12 are joined by a nylon thread that surrounds the rest of the periphery of the glass 22 and is housed in a groove peripheral of the glass.

When the lateral branches 12 extend only along the top edge of the glasses 22 as shown in the right-hand part of Figure 6, these branches each carry two hooks 14, at their ends, and a third hook 14 is mounted on the nylon thread that encloses the glass 22 between extremities of the lateral branch 12.

In this case, and as we see best at FIGS. 7 and 8, the hook 14 comprises a portion U 24 riding on the edge of the glass 22 and which has two orifices 26 for passing the wire of nylon 28 mounted in the peripheral groove of the glass 22. Thus, the hook 14 is sliding on the wire of nylon 28 and can be moved, relative to both other hooks 14 integral with the lateral branch 12, to be brought into a fixing position optimal device on the frame of the glasses.

In this embodiment, the hook properly said is formed of a curved finger 30 extending since the U-shaped part 24, substantially perpendicular to the glass 22 or slightly oblique in relation to this one.

Of course, other means of mounting the hooks 14 on 28 nylon threads can be used: for example, parts 24 of the brackets 14 can include a single hole parallel to the periphery of the glass 22 for the passage of the wire 28.

For the rest, the variant embodiment of the FIGS. 6 to 8 show the same characteristics as the embodiment of Figures 1 to 5, that is to say that the bridge 10 is made in one piece with the side branches 12 and the hooks 14 provided on these lateral branches, by molding of plastic or metal material, and branches side 12 have on their inner face projections 16 intended to be engaged in the peripheral grooves of the glasses 22.

The device according to the invention is usable for mounting protective filter lenses solar on corrective glasses but it can also be used for mounting lenses additional correctors on glasses, by example to improve near vision or vision night.
