Abstract
Description
Wie im Stand der Technik münden die von den einzelnen Zylindern einer Brennkraftmaschine kommenden Abgaszuleitungen in einen Sammelraum, an welchen sich der Katalysator anschließt. Innerhalb des Sammelraums ist nun wenigstens ein Strömungsleitelement angeordnet, welches den von einer Abgaszuleitung kommenden Abgasstrom aufweitet, bevor er auf der vorderen Stirnfläche des Katalysators auftrifft.

Claims (7)
- Vorrichtung zur Reinigung der von einer Brennkraftmaschine stammenden Abgase mit einem Katalysator (10), einem sich stromaufwärts des Katalysators befindlichen Sammelraum (20), in den wenigstens zwei Abgaszuleitungen (31, 32, 33, 34) münden, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass im Sammelraum (20) wenigstens ein Strömungsleitelement (40) angeordnet ist.
- Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Volumen des Sammelraumes (40) kleiner oder gleich 0,8 Liter ist.
- Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Anzahl der Abgaszuleitungen größer oder gleich 4 ist.
- Vorrichtung nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Strömungsleitelement (40) einen im wesentlichen kreisförmigen oder ellipsoiden Querschnitt aufweist.
- Vorrichtung nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Oberfläche des Strömungsleitelements (40) kleiner als 1000 mm2, insbesondere kleiner als 500 mm2, insbesondere kleiner als 350 mm2 ist.
- Vorrichtung nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Katalysator (10) eine im wesentlichen zylindrische Form aufweist und dass der Abstand (a) des Strömungsleitelements (40) zur ihm zugewandten Stimfläche (10A) des Katalysators (10) weniger als das 0,5-fache des Durchmessers (d) der Stirnfläche (10A) des Katalysators (10) beträgt.
- Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Abstand (a) kleiner als das 0,25-fache aber größer als das 0,1-fache des Durchmessers (d) der Stirnseite (10A) des Katalysators (10) ist.
