Description

  • Die Erfindung betrifft ein Kurbelgehäuse für eine flüssigkeitsgekühlte Hubkolben-Brennkraftmaschine, in dem ein für alle Zylinder gemeinsamer Kühlraum angeordnet ist, und in dem mindestens ein strömungsbeeinflussendes Element vorgesehen ist.
  • Die Erfindung geht aus von dem US Patent 4,461,247 aus. In dieser ist ein Kurbelgehäuse für eine flüssigkeitsgekühlte Hubkolben-Brennkraftmaschine beschrieben. In dem Kurbelgehäuse ist ein für alle Zylinder gemeinsamer Kühlraum angeordnet, in dem mindestens ein strömungsbeeinflussendes Element vorgesehen ist. Dieses ist einstückig mit dem Kurbelgehäuse gegossen, wobei sich das strömungsbeeinflussende Element über mindestens die halbe Länge des Kühlraumes erstreckt und den Kühlraum in einen oberen Kühlraum und einen unteren Kühlraum aufteilt. Der obere Kühlraum und der untere Kühlraum sind durch Öffnungen, bzw. Bohrungen in dem strömungsbeeinflussenden Element miteinander verbunden.
  • Nachteilig bei dieser Anordnung sind sehr aufwendige geometrische Änderungsmaßnahmen an der Brennkraftmaschine, wenn die Kühlung der Zylinder verändert werden muss.
  • Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, eine einfachere Trennung des Kühlraumes in einen oberen Kühlraum und einen unteren Kühlraum aufzuzeigen, wobei spätere geometrische Änderungen einfach durchführbar sind.
  • Diese Aufgabe wird von den Merkmalen im Kennzeichen des Patentanspruchs 1 gelöst.
  • Die erfindungsgemäße Ausgestaltung erleichtert in vorteilhafter Weise Änderungen an der Zylinderkühlung. Zudem gestattet sie eine einfache Montage, beispielsweise als Einklemm- bzw. Stecklösung. Änderungen an der Kühlung sind somit schnell, einfach und kostengünstig möglich, ohne die Geometrie des Kurbelgehäuses zu verändern.
  • Vorteilhaft nach Anspruch 2 ist die Strömungsbeeinflussung durch das strömungsbeeinflussende Element noch besser steuerbar und eine Klemmmontage wird durch diese Geometrie problemlos möglich.
  • Anspruch 3 unterstützt nochmals die Vorteile von Anspruch 2.
  • Eine Ausführung gemäß Anspruch 4 gewährleistet Wartungsfreiheit im Betrieb. Darüberhinaus lassen sich mit den unterschiedlichen Werkstoffen unterschiedliche vorteilhafte Bauteileigenschaften erzeugen, wie z. B. die Realisierung von harten oder elastischen Teilbereichen.
  • Aufgrund der Bauteilausführung gemäß Anspruch 5 wird beispielsweise einer Zerstörung des Bauteils durch Bruch wirkungsvoll entgegengewirkt. Darüberhinaus sind Klemmmontagen einfach zu realisieren.
  • Eine Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 6 hilft das strömungsbeeinflussende Element an durch Strömungswiderstände mechanisch hoch belasteten Stellen gegen Verrutschen zu sichern.
  • Eine Fertigung nach Anspruch 7 bietet einfache und kostengünstige Herstellung sowie eine kostengünstige und einfache Montage.
  • Im Folgenden ist die Erfindung an Hand von zwei bevorzugten Ausführungsbeispielen in einer Zeichnung dargestellt.
  • Figur 1 zeigt einen Schnitt durch ein open-deck Kurbelgehäuse 1, der zentrisch durch einen Zylinder 2 mit einer Zylinderachse 2a verläuft. Beidseitig vom Zylinder, äquidistant von der Zylinderachse 2a entfernt, sind zwei Kühlräume 3, 3' in das Kurbelgehäuse 1 angeordnet. Open deck Kurbelgehäuse bedeutet, dass die Kühlräume 3, 3' im Kurbelgehäuse 1 gegenüber einem nicht dargestellten Zylinderkopf nur durch eine Zylinderkopfdichtung 8 mit Kühlmitteldurchtrittsöffnungen 9, 9' verschlossen sind. Auf der, der Zylinderkopfdichtung gegenüberliegenden Seite mündet der Zylinder 2 in einen Kurbelraum 10 einer nicht weiter dargestellten Hubkolben-Brennkraftmaschine.
  • In den Kühlräumen 3, 3' befinden sich strömungsbeeinflussende Elemente 4, 4' mit Öffnungen 5, 5'. An das strömungsbeeinflussende Element 4 sind drei Rippen 6, 6' angeformt. Ferner weisen die strömungsbeeinflussenden Elemente 4, 4' in Teilbereichen eine Oberflächenkrümmung 7, 7' auf. Die Kühlmitteldurchtrittsöffnungen 9, 9' in der Zylinderkopfdichtung 8 sind im Bereich der Kühlräume 3, 3' angeordnet. Die strömungsbeeinflussenden Elemente 4, 4' teilen die Kühlräume 3, 3' in obere Kühlräume 3a, 3'a und in untere Kühlräume 3b, 3'b auf.
  • Die Rippe 6 sowie das strömungsbeeinflussende Element 4' sitzen in der Ebene der oberen Kolbenumkehr des hier nicht dargestellten Kolbens, der im Zylinder 2 in Richtung der Zylinderachse 2a auf und ab bewegt wird.
  • Bei Betrieb der Hubkolben-Brennkraftmaschine fördert eine hier nicht dargestellte Kühlmittelpumpe das Kühlmittel durch eine nicht dargestellte Öffnung in die oberen Kühlmittelräume 3a, 3'a. Entsprechend den aktuellen Betriebsbedingungen, wie z.B. der Lastverhältnisse der Hubkolben-Brennkraftmaschine, wird aufgrund der vorherrschenden Temperatur- und Druckverhältnisse in den Kühlräumen 3, 3' das Kühlmittel durch die Öffnungen 5, 5' und den Kühlmitteldurchtrittsöffnungen 9, 9' von den oberen Kühlmittelräumen 3a, 3'a in die unteren Kühlmittelräume 3b, 3'b und in den nicht dargestellten Zylinderkopf verteilt. Abhängig von der Lage der nicht dargestellten Öffnung für die Kühlmittelzufuhr, kann das Kühlmittel zumindest in Teilbereichen auch vom Zylinderkopf durch die Kühlmitteldurchtrittsöffnungen 9, 9' in die oberen Kühlräume 3a, 3'a und von dort weiter in die unteren Kühlräume 3b, 3'b gedrückt werden.
  • Im Bereich zwischen Zylinderkopfdichtung 8 und Rippe 6 bzw. dem strömungsbeeinflussenden Element 4' wird ca. 80 % der an das Kurbelgehäuse vom Brennraum abgegebenen Wärmemenge eingetragen. Die Öffnungen 5, 5' und die Kühlmitteldurchtrittsöffnungen 9, 9' sind derart dimensioniert, dass sich in den unteren Kühlräumen 3b, 3'b nur eine sehr schwache Strömung und in den oberen Kühlräumen 3a, 3'a eine große Strömungsgeschwindigkeit in Richtung des nicht dargestellten Zylinderkopfes einstellt. Durch die korrekte Dimensionierung ist in Bereichen mit geringem Wärmemengeneintrag und in Bereichen mit großem Wärmemengeneintrag gleichermaßen eine homogene Temperaturverteilung in der Zylinderwandung in Richtung der Zylinderachse 2a gewährleistet.
  • Durch diese Art der Kühlung werden thermische Verzüge der Zylinderwandung weitestgehend vermieden. Weiter wird die Hubkolben-Brennkraftmaschine schnell aufgeheizt, wodurch Kraftstoffeinsparungen möglich sind und die Schadstoff-Rohemissionen, speziell von Kohlenwasserstoffen, in der Warmlaufphase minimiert sind.
  • Das strömungsbeeinflussende Element 4 ist derart ausgeformt, dass die Rippen 6, 6' bei der Montage zusätzlich als Halteelemente fungieren. Ferner übernehmen sie auch die Aufgabe, das Kühlmittel gezielt um den Zylinder 2 zu leiten. Zur zusätzlichen Klemmung des strömungsbeeinflussenden Elements 4 sind Oberflächenkrümmungen 7, 7' vorhanden. Die Bereiche der Oberflächenkrümmung sind elastisch, können jedoch auch steif ausgelegt sein. Die strömungsbeeinflussenden Elemente 4, 4' sind aus einer korrosionsfesten Aluminiumlegierung hergestellt, können jedoch in weiteren Ausführungsvarianten auch aus Kunststoff bzw. Metallkunststoffverbänden hergestellt werden.
  • Teilbereiche des strömungsbeeinflussenden Elements 4' sind zylinderseitig und kurbelgehäuseseitig gegeneinander verschränkt, wodurch ebenfalls Oberflächenkrümmungen 7' erzielt werden. Auch hier dienen diese als Montagehilfe beim Einbau in den Kühlraum 3', wobei die federnde Wirkung der Oberflächenkrümmung 7' ausgenutzt wird, um das strömungsbeeinflussende Element 4' zwischen Kurbelgehäusewandung und Zylinderwandung zu verkeilen.
  • Durch den Einsatz eines strömungsbeeinflussenden Elements 4, 4' kann das Kühlsystem sowohl als Kühlsystem mit einem Kühlmittelkreislauf, als auch als Split-Cooling-System ausgeführt werden. Split-Cooling-System bedeutet den Einsatz von zwei getrennten Kühlmittelkreisläufen für eine Hubkolben-Brennkraftmaschine. Ein Kühlkreislauf kühlt das Kurbelgehäuse 1, wobei der Kühlmittelstrom wiederum auf die oberen Kühlräume 3a, 3'a und die unteren Kühlräume 3b, 3'b aufgeteilt wird und das Kühlmittel ebenfalls aus den oberen Kühlräumen 3a, 3'a wieder abgeführt wird. Ein weiterer Kühlkreislauf kühlt den nicht dargestellten Zylinderkopf. Bei einem Split-Cooling-System erfolgt die Regelung der Kühlmitteltemperatur in jedem Durchströmungsbereich durch zwei getrennte Regler.

Claims (7)

  1. Kurbelgehäuse für eine flüssigkeitsgekühlte Hubkolben-Brennkraftmaschine, in dem ein für alle Zylinder gemeinsamer Kühlraum angeordnet ist und in dem mindestens ein strömungsbeeinflussendes Element vorgesehen ist, wobei das strömungsbeeinflussende Element (4, 4') sich über mindestens die halbe Länge des Kühlraumes (3, 3') erstreckt und den Kühlraum (3, 3') zumindest in einem Teilbereich in einen oberen Kühlraum (3'a) und einen unteren Kühlraum (3'b) aufteilt, wobei der obere Kühlraum (3'a) und der untere Kühlraum (3'b) durch Öffnungen in dem strömungsbeeinflussenden Element (4, 4') miteinander verbunden sind,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Kühlmittel in den Kühlraum (3, 3') durch den oberen Kühlraum (3'a) eingeführt wird und das strömungsbeeinflussende Element (4, 4') in dem Kühlraum (3, 3') verklemmbar ist.
  2. Kurbelgehäuse nach Anspruch 1,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass an das strömungsbeeinflussende Element zumindest eine Rippe (6, 6') anordbar ist.
  3. Kurbelgehäuse nach Anspruch 1,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das strömungsbeeinflussende Element (4, 4') zumindest in Teilbereichen eine Oberflächenkrümmung (7, 7') aufweist.
  4. Kurbelgehäuse nach Anspruch 1,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das strömungsbeeinflussende Element (4, 4') aus einem korrosionsfesten Kunststoff und/oder Metall oder Kunststoff-Metallverbundwerkstoff gefertigt ist.
  5. Kurbelgehäuse nach zumindest einem der zuvor genannten Ansprüche,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das strömungsbeeinflussende Element (4, 4') zumindest in Teilbereichen elastisch verformbar ist.
  6. Kurbelgehäuse nach zumindest einem der zuvor genannten Ansprüche,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das strömungsbeeinflussende Element (4, 4') in dem Kühlraum (3, 3') zusätzlich befestigbar ist.
  7. Kurbelgehäuse nach zumindest einem der zuvor genannten Ansprüche,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das strömungsbeeinflussende Element (4, 4') einstückig ist.
