Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device for diffusing volatile treatment products, especially multi-component products, into the soil.
- Phytosanitary treatment products are known in the form of granules which are dispersed in the soil by burial and which, by gradually reacting in the presence of soil moisture, exert their action on the organisms to be suppressed.
- a chassis is provided mounted on the three-point hitch of a tractor.
- This chassis is fitted with coulters intended to inject the treatment gases into the soil.
- coulters penetrate little deep into the ground and must be close to each other to achieve correct treatment. Therefore, the jams with the roots are important and the user has to lift the hitch to disengage the coulters from the accumulation of plants, which can cause fumes of treatment gas and is not satisfactory. If the user takes the time to do the maneuver correctly, that is to say if he waits for the gas flow to stop, he loses a lot of time.
- the penetration depth is irregular, which does not always allow an injection at the right depth and therefore leads to an application that does not comply with the specifications.
- injection systems use compressed air pumps which work at constant pressure and flow. These systems are however not suitable because they carry out non-proportional dosages, which leads to excessive or insufficient dosages. In addition, they unnecessarily consume products which are relatively expensive because they are sophisticated and highly technical.
- the present invention provides a device which allows the diffusion of such products comprising at least two inter-reactive compounds, which avoids any risk of pressurization of the on-board storage tank, which avoids losses and approximate dosages by working in DPA, that is to say in flow proportional to the advancement, while making it possible to adjust in a very simple way the volume diffused per unit of surface, which is very reliable by the combination of mechanical means themselves simple therefore reliable, which can treat different products with the same pump, which diffuses the gas flow continuously and at the right depth in the ground, which avoids any jamming and the need to raise the chassis and which is intended to be also coupled on the three-point linkage of a tractor like most known agricultural machines.
- the device for diffusing volatile treatment products into the soil, in particular at least two inter-reactive products for application by fumigation which is the subject of the present invention, comprises a frame, connection means. for connecting the chassis to the three-point linkage of a tractor, and means for storing the products, and is characterized in that it comprises, installed on the chassis, means for pumping the products contained
- the storage means supply circuits in which the pumping means are arranged and which connect the storage means to a collector having at least two inputs and one output, and diffusion means carried by at least one coulter and connected to the outlet of the collector to diffuse into the soil, when the coulter is introduced into the latter, a gas flow resulting from the reaction of the inter-reactive products.
- the diffusion means comprise a common tube which is arranged downstream of the coulter, parallel to the edge and over the entire height thereof, and the open lower end of which opens out at the heel of said coulter.
- the coulter preferably includes sunshade wings at its lower end.
- the pumping means comprise one pump per product and are preferably constituted by peristaltic pumps.
- the diffusion device according to the invention also comprises means intended to roll on the ground and means intended to actuate the peristaltic pumps when the rolling means are driven in rotation, so that the flow rate of said pumps is proportional to the advancement .
- the rolling means comprise at least one free wheel rotatably mounted at the end of an oscillating arm which can pivot on the chassis around an axis, a return element being interposed between the chassis and the oscillating arm to press the freewheel against the ground.
- the means intended to drive the peristaltic pumps comprise a chain interposed between a drive plate integral in rotation with the wheel and a driven plate integral in rotation with a shaft intended to drive the pumps, as well as a tensioner to compensate variations in chain length.
- the diffusion device according to the invention may advantageously comprise a roller situated at the rear of the coulter and intended to compact the soil and to adjust the gauge produced by said coulter during the movement of the tractor.
- two supply circuits are therefore provided connecting two means for storing treatment products to a collector common to which the diffusion means are connected, these circuits being completely independent of each other and ensuring a flow proportional to the advancement of the tractor.
- the diffusion device comprises a radar intended to pick up the forward speed of the tractor; a hydraulic circuit comprising an oil tank, at least one pump, two hydraulic motors intended to drive the pumping means and two proportional valves intended to supply the hydraulic motors; sensors associated with the pumping means to detect the flow rates of the latter; and a computer to which the radar and the flow sensors are coupled and which is intended to control the proportional valves as a function of the signals received from said radar and from said sensors in order to determine the quantities of inter-reactive products to be delivered by the pumping means means of dissemination.
- the computer is preferably installed on the tractor.
- the user by exerting simple pulses on the computer keyboard, can modify the flow rates of the pumping means according to the processing to be carried out.
- the diffusion device according to the invention may also advantageously comprise a switch intended to interrupt the operation of the pumping means during the extraction of the coulter from the ground and to control the operation of said pumping means during the insertion of the coulter in the ground.
- the switch will once again control the operation of the pumping means as soon as the user lowers the diffusion device to introduce the coulter into the ground.
- FIG. 1 is a side elevational view of a device according to the present invention, during operation, - Figure 2 is a detailed perspective view of a coulter with its diffusion system, Figure 3 is a schematic view of the circuit taken by the treatment products in the device according to the present invention, and - Figure 4 is a schematic view of a particular control assembly provided on the diffusion device according to the invention for actuating the peristaltic pumps.
- FIG. 1 there is shown the rear of a tractor 10 provided with a three-point linkage 12.
- the device according to the present invention comprises a chassis 14 which is equipped with means 16 ensuring its connection with the three-point linkage 12
- This chassis also includes rolling means 18, means 20 intended for storing treatment products, pumping means 22, diffusion means 24 and compacting means 26.
- the chassis 14 advantageously comprises a rigid tubular structure known per se to ensure sufficient mechanical strength of the assembly.
- the rolling means 18 are attached to a transverse beam. These rolling means comprise two oscillating arms 28 each mounted on either side of the chassis and pivoting about an axis 30. For each oscillating arm, a return element 32 such as a compression spring 34 plates the end from that arm to the ground. Each swinging arm carries at its end opposite the axis 30 a free wheel 36 in contact with the ground, of the agrarian wheel type.
- the storage means 20 comprise a closed tank 38 provided with as many compartments as there are separate products to keep.
- a tank with two compartments 40, 42 visible in FIG. 3.
- These compartments are respectively equipped with nozzles 44 and 46 advantageously located under the tank to allow a supply of the corresponding pump by gravity.
- the pumping means 22 are interposed on the circuits 48.50 originating from the taps 44.46. These pumping means comprise two pumps 52, 54 of the peristaltic type. It suffices to choose among the existing flexible hoses those which are best suited to the products to be pumped and which have sufficient flexibility to be gripped by the rotary core of the peristaltic pumps during a sufficient number of cycles.
- the two pipes may be different while the pumps remain unchanged.
- These pumps are independent of the fluid and cannot be degraded by corrosion effects since there is no direct contact between the rotating elements and the fluids transported.
- the pumps have a flow rate which depends essentially on the internal diameter of the pipes and the frequency of rotation of their core.
- the pumps according to the present invention are arranged to be of the DPA type, that is to say at flow rate proportional to the advancement. To this end, the pumps are connected to a shaft of one of the wheels 36 by drive means 56.
- FIG. 3 A chain 58 is interposed between a driving plate 60 integral in rotation with the wheel 36 and a driven plate 62 integral in rotation with the shaft 64 driving the pumps.
- a tensioner 66 visible in FIG. 1 compensates for variations in length of the chain during movements of the swinging arm. It should be noted that the rotation speed of the pumps can be modified simply by replacing one of the plates, which results in a variation in the development ratio and therefore in the flow rate of the pumps for the same pipe diameter and for the same forward speed of the tractor / chassis assembly. This makes it possible to adjust the flow rate of the treatment product dispensed per unit of area.
- the flow rate of one of the pumps can be adjusted independently of that of the other, without changing the hose. It suffices to provide either an independent drive assembly cooperating with the second wheel, or independent secondary drives for each of the pumps, also comprising a chain / chainring assembly from a main drive shaft.
- the pumps are interposed between the means 20 provided for the storage of the products and the diffusion means 24 which comprise a diffuser 74.
- the diffusion means 24 comprise at least one coulter 68 and more generally two rows of coulters, one comprising two coulters and the other three, arranged offset to allow the treatment of a suitable surface, without this known arrangement being limiting.
- the layout must be adapted according to the surfaces to be treated.
- the coulter spacing can be large enough to leave a large clearance and let the roots pass without causing jams, as will be better understood on reading the implementation phases
- Each coulter is attached to the frame 14 by means of suitable flanges, this in known manner.
- Each coulter comprises at its lower end a tooth 70 comprising sunshade wings 72 intended to raise the ground on either side of the coulter in order to ensure better diffusion of the product.
- the diffuser 74 proper comprises a single common tube 76 which is arranged downstream of the coulter, parallel to the edge and over the entire height thereof, and whose open lower end 78 opens at the heel of said coulter.
- the diffuser 74 At its upper end 80, the diffuser 74 comprises a manifold with two inlets 82 which receives the two pipes 84,86 corresponding to the two reactive products.
- the compacting means 26 comprise a roller 88, preferably made of rubber, of the type of that sold under the name "Farm-Flex".
- This roller is secured to the chassis by adjustment means 90 making it possible to adjust the attitude of the chassis relative to the ground, therefore to adjust the gauge, that is to say the penetration of the coulters into the ground.
- the profile of the coulter teeth tends to cause the latter to sink, but the roller 88 prevents this sinking.
- the roller which is pressed on the ground ensures compaction thereof, thereby limiting the leakage of gaseous treatment products.
- the user fills the tanks 40, 42, one with a reactive product such as "Enzone” and the other with water to take a specific example. It suffices to provide a flexible hose that is tightly connected and to pressurize the barrel containing this product. The liquid product is then discharged into the corresponding tank. The water barrel is filled by connection to the general circuit by the simple pressure of the network.
- the dilution of the products is such that the dosages, for reasons of ease of use, are 50/50.
- the products come into contact with each other at the level of the collector with two inlets 82 where they initiate their reaction which creates a gas flow diffusing at the lower part of the coulters, in the part of the soil worked by the tooth 70 and the wings 72 of these.
- the coulters can be spaced 35 cm apart and form two rows of two and three respectively offset coulters, and introduced at a depth of 35 to 40 cm into the ground.
- this roller compacts the soil which has been previously aerated and, thus limiting the losses of gaseous product, allows a better treatment efficiency.
- the user lifts the three-point linkage 12, which stops the rotation of the wheel 36 and therefore the operation of the pumps 52, 54.
- This device is particularly well suited to inter-reactive products but it is of course usable with non-inter-reactive products.
- Figure 4 we see that it represents a number of organs and elements visible in Figures 1 to 3. It is indeed the tractor 10, compartments 40 and 42 containing the treatment products, the peristaltic pumps 52 and 54, the supply circuits 48 and 50, the collector with two inputs 82 and the diffusion tube 76.
- the control assembly intended to actuate the two peristaltic pumps in a controlled manner first comprises a radar 2 intended to detect the forward speed of the tractor 10; a hydraulic circuit comprising an oil reservoir 5, at least one pump 1, two hydraulic motors 4 intended to drive the pumps 52, 54, and two proportional valves 3 intended to supply the hydraulic motors 4 with pressurized oil which they have need to drive motors 4.
- the control assembly also comprises two sensors 7 respectively associated with the pumps 52, 54 and intended to detect the flow rates of the latter, and a computer 6 to which the radar 2 and the sensors 7 are coupled and which is intended to control the proportional valves 3 as a function of the signals emitted by said radar and said sensors.
