Abstract

A single-use device for injection comprises: (1) a syringe, provided with a front nose and supporting an injection needle and having a rear collar; and (2) a device for protection of the injection needle of the syringe after use comprising a protective sheath consisting of rear and front bodies to be rendered integral, and a ring, having a mechanism for locking the syringe, accommodated in the rear body. A single-use device for injection comprises: (a) a syringe (1) provided with a front nose (1a) supporting an injection needle (2) and having a rear collar (1b); and (b) a protection device for protection after the syringe has been used. The syringe delimits a chamber which is filled with a dose of fluid to be injected and is sealed by a piston (4) which is rendered integral with one of the ends of a piston rod (5) provided with a thruster (6) at its opposite end. The protection device comprises a protective sheath (7) and a ring (24). The sheath consists of front and rear tubular bodies (8, 9) provided with an assembly mechanism which makes it possible to render the bodies integral to one in the extension of the other. The front body (8) has a diameter which is conjugated relative to that of the syringe and a length designed to accommodate the syringe partially. The rear body (9) has a diameter which is larger than that of the collar of the syringe body and comprises finger-support units (23). The ring is disposed in the rear body which comprises a mechanism (29, 31) for locking the collar. This makes it possible to introduce the syringe by presenting the needle opposite the rear body of the protective sheath. Claims (9)

  1. A single-use injection device comprising a pre-filled syringe (1) provided with a front nose (1a) bearing an injection needle (2) which is protected by a protective cap (3), and a syringe body (7) which accommodates said syringe and is provided with means (24) for preventing the latter from moving in rotation and translation,
    said injection device being characterized in that:
    it comprises an end piece (32), referred to as an end piece with claws, comprising a front wall (33), and at least two radially extendable tabs (34-37) extending longitudinally relative to the front wall (33), adapted to cap the protective cap (3) and which are provided with at least one inner claw (38, 39) for grasping said cap,
    the syringe body (7) has an open rear front face which adapted to allow the introduction of the syringe (1), and an opposite front section (8b), which can be separated and which is delimited by a frangible area (14) arranged so as to be positioned substantially at the front nose (1a) of the syringe (1) accommodated in said syringe body, said separable section comprising a neck (50) adapted to clamp the tabs (34-37) of the end piece (32) with claws such that these latter ensure that the protective cap (3) is grasped,
    said separable section (8b) and end piece (32) with claws being provided with means in correspondence (16, 17, 40, 41) to prevent relative translation and rotation of these latter.
  2. An injection device according to claim 1, characterized in that the means for preventing relative rotation and translation of the end piece (32) with claws and of the separable section (8b) comprise:
    a plurality of longitudinal notches (41) provided on at least one of the tabs (36, 37) of the end piece with claws (32), so as to be positioned ahead the neck (50) of the separable section (8b) of the syringe body (7), when the syringe (1) is accommodated in the latter,
    a plurality of longitudinal notches (16) provided on the separable section (8b) ahead of the neck (50) of the latter,
    a shoulder (17) for translational abutment of the end piece with claws (32) formed by said neck (50).
  3. An injection device according to claim 2, characterized in that the longitudinal notches (16) which are provided on the separable section (8b) are distributed around the entire periphery of the inner surface of said separable section.
  4. An injection device according to one of claims 2 or 3, characterized in that the longitudinal notches (41) of each tab (36, 37) of the end piece with claws (32) are advantageously disposed on a boss (40) provided with a front portion (40b) forming a ramp which is adapted to facilitate passage of the neck (50).
  5. An injection device according to one of the preceding claims in which the front nose (1a) of the syringe (1) comprises an outer sealing neck, characterized in that each grasping claw (38, 39) of the end piece (32) with claws is positioned so as to ensure that the protective cap (3) is grasped substantially downstream ahead of the sealing neck.
  6. An injection device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the neck (50) of the separable section (8b) is provided so as to be positioned adjacent the grasping claws (38, 39) of the end piece (32) with claws.
  7. An injection device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the neck (50) of the separable section (8b) is constituted by an inner boss provided with an inclined rear portion (15) forming an access ramp.
  8. An injection device according to claim 4, characterized in that the end piece (32) with claws comprises four longitudinal tabs (34-37) which are distributed uniformly relative to the axis of the front wall (33), two of said tabs (36, 37) which are diametrically opposite comprising a boss (40), and the two others (34, 35), referred to as grasping tabs, comprising at least one grasping claw (38, 39).
  9. An injection device according to claim 8, characterized in that the grasping tabs (34, 35) each comprise two lateral grasping claws (38, 39).
