Definitions
- the invention relates to an insulating protection with interlocking elements for conductive elements of an electrical connection intended for high currents (in a wide range extending from 20A up to a few thousand Amperes) in low voltage, consisting of a first rigid conductive element and at least one second conductive element being fixed at one end of the first conductive element with possibility for the second conductive element to be fixed in an almost arbitrary angular position relative to the first conductive element.
- the invention applies more particularly to the electrical insulation of a connection between a lug crimped to a low-voltage cable and a phase current bar protruding from one side of a cab-type electrical transformer.
- connection between the lug of the electric cable and the bar is electrically insulated by a protection forming an angled bend consisting of two symmetrical half-shells in the vertical connection plane passing through the bar and the electric cable and which can be made of a more or less flexible insulating material.
- the two half-shells are fixed to one another by means of bolts or rivets of insulating material, which requires tools.
- this conventional protection has an orifice for the arrival of an electric cable making for example a 90 ° angle with the bar.
- a second orifice can also be located directly in the extension of the bar, that is to say for a cable termination making an angle close to 0 ° with the direction of the bar.
- the fixed position of the orifices of such a protection therefore does not allow the fixing of the terminal of a cable to a bar of a transformer in any angular position of the cable termination end.
- the sections generally used for the cables are such that they can hardly be bent over their length of arrival, so that the connection of a cable to a bar may be impossible both in the direction (0 °) the extension of the bar at 90 ° from this direction when the mean direction of arrival of the cable in the vertical plane of the connection is within a certain angular range of 0 ° or 90 °, by example between 30 ° and 60 °, range even wider than the cable is rigid.
- a conventional insulating protection does not adapt to different configurations of connection between a bar and a cable, that is to say configurations that differ by the angle defined by the bar and the cable once connected to one another.
- An object of the invention is to provide an insulating protection which is easy to install without tools and which, before the covering of the connection by the protection, allows a wide range of possible angles for the angular positioning of the termination of a cable in the vertical connection plane.
- the subject of the invention is an insulating protection consisting of at least two elements partially or entirely made of a flexible insulating material and intended to cover the elements of an electrical connection made by the junction between the end of a conductor bar and at least one cable passing a strong current at low voltage, the termination of a cable being fixed to the conducting bar in a determined angular position after the clamping of the connection elements, characterized in that said protection consists of a first and at least one second protection element each in the form of a barrel extended on one or both of its sides by at least one horn, in that the barrel of the first protection element is intended for to be fitted on the busbar and the barrel of a second protective element is intended to be fitted on a cable termination, in that n secondary flag of a second protective element is intended to be fitted either directly into a primary lug of a first protective element or into an intermediate fitting part itself fitted into said primary lug, and in that interlocking of said horns can be realized for relative angular positioning of the first and second protection elements in
- the respective flags of the first and second protection elements have a substantially circular section, it is possible with single elements (not mounted on a connection) to rotate the second protection element with respect to the first protection element after a simple nesting of the two flags from any angular position.
- the free angular positioning of the two protection elements makes it possible, before the protection elements are nested, to to be able to choose the angular position of the second conductive element with respect to the first conductive element in a wide angular interval which can approach the complete revolution (360 °) and preferably greater than 180 °.
- a protection according to the invention allows the clamping of the terminal, and therefore the positioning of the second protection element, indifferently on the right or left side of the bar.
- the figure 1 is a front view of a first protection element of the insulating protection according to the invention.
- the figure 2 is a side view of a first protection element of the insulating protection according to the invention.
- the figure 3 is a top view of a first protection element of the insulating protection according to the invention.
- the figure 4 is a front view of a second element of protection of the insulating protection according to the invention.
- the figure 5 is a side view of a second element of protection of the insulating protection according to the invention.
- the figure 6 is a top view of a second element of protection of the insulating protection according to the invention.
- the figure 7 shows the insulating protection according to the invention with a first protective element fitted into a second protection element.
- the figure 8 shows an embodiment of the insulating protection according to the invention for connecting two cables to a same bar on the same side of the bar.
- the figure 9 shows an embodiment of a first insulating protection element according to the invention for connecting two cables to a same bar on each side of the bar.
- the figure 10 shows the connection of a single cable to a bar on which is fitted the first protection element shown in FIG. figure 9 with an insulating cover fitted on a primary roof.
- the figure 11 shows the connection of two cables to a bar on which is fitted the first protection element represented in FIG. figure 9 .
- the insulating protection according to the invention consists of a first and a second protection element, each being in the form of a barrel surmounted by a flag of substantially circular section, that is to say of annular periphery.
- the first protection element 1 comprises a shank 2 having two faces each of mainly rectangular shape, designed to be fitted into an output bar of a transformer and extending in an axial direction D.
- the upper part of the barrel is extended on one side by an open flag 3 having a peripheral washer and called primary flag in the present.
- the circular opening of said primary flag ie its axis of symmetry, is oriented perpendicular to the direction D, generally in the direction of the alignment of the transformer bars.
- the tubular shaft 2 can have the shape of a parallelepiped or a cylinder according to the shape of the bar in which it must slip.
- Most of the transformers comprise at the output bars whose ends form parallel rectangular plates aligned and separated from each other by a certain distance of electrical insulation.
- a bar is generally pierced with at least one orifice provided for clamping the lug of a cable against one of the two faces of the bar, for example by screwing. Due to the symmetry of each bar, a first protection element 1 can be slipped on a bar with its primary lug 3 oriented on one side or the other of the bar, thus allowing the clamping of a lug indifferently on the right or left side of the bar.
- the primary flag 3 comprises at its opening an annular peripheral lip 3A which defines an annular groove 3B.
- the lip 3A and the groove 3B serve as a stop for the peripheral washer of the secondary roof of the second protection element.
- Primary Pavilion 3 shown on Figures 1 to 3 here has an entirely circular section.
- the second protection element 4 comprises a shaft 5 which extends in an axial direction E and which is surmounted by a secondary flag 6.
- This flag 6 is oriented perpendicular to the direction E and is arranged at the top and on one side of the drum 5.
- the tubular barrel 5 is generally cylindrical since it must cover the tubular portion of a lug which is generally crimped on a circular section cable.
- the second protection element 4 is preferably fitted with its shank 5 in the end of a cable to allow the cable to pass through the drum before the connecting lug to the bar is crimped on said termination. Once the lug is crimped and attached to the bar, the protective element can be slid to cover the lug. Alternatively, it remains possible to provide a sufficiently flexible protection element to be a pod already crimped can pass into the barrel of this element.
- the secondary flag 6 has a peripheral washer 6A intended to be introduced into the groove 3B of the primary horn 3 as shown in FIG. figure 7 .
- the annular peripheral lip 3A and the peripheral washer 6A are preferably made of an electrically insulating plastic material, each element having to have a relative flexibility while maintaining a certain rigidity, so that an operator can manually engage the peripheral washer 6A in the throat 3B without excessive difficulty while allowing the second element is sufficiently maintained by the first once engaged.
- Secondary Pavilion 6 shown on Figures 4 to 6 also has a circular or substantially circular section which allows, by a simple interlocking of the secondary roof in the primary roof, to realize almost all the possible angular positions between the protection element 1 and the protection element 4.
- FIG. 7 there is shown with first hatched lines, a low voltage bar 7 for example fixed on the cover of a transformer, and with second hatched lines an electric cable 8 connected at 90 ° to the bar 7.
- the barrel 2 of the protection element 1 is fitted on the bar 7 and the barrel 5 of the protection element 4 is fitted onto the cable 8.
- the cable 8 has not been shown to be attached to the bar 7, but this may be for example a fixing by a screw passing through the terminal of the cable and the bar and bolted tight on the side of the bar opposite to the pod.
- the protection elements 1 and 4 are preferably made of an electrically insulating plastic material which is sufficiently flexible to grip bar 7 and cable 8 as closely as possible.
- the flexibility of the protection elements 1 and 4 must make it possible to decant the primary and secondary flags 3 and 6 respectively of the bar and the lug they cover and fold them against the drums 2 and 5, so as to clear the clamping means of the lug to allow clamping or separation of the pod and the bar.
- FIG. 8 is represented an insulating protection according to the invention, for protecting a connection between a bar such as 7 and two electrical cables 8A, 8B clamped on the same face of the bar while allowing a wide range of angular positioning between each cable and the bar before tightening.
- a first protection element 1 is connected to two second protection elements 4A, 4B, and here comprises a primary lug 3 whose section is rectangular and an intermediate fitting piece 9 which is interposed between the primary lug 3 and the secondary pavilions of circular section of the protection elements 4A, 4B.
- This rectangular adaptation piece comprises a peripheral lip 9A preferably made of a flexible material to fit into the rectangular groove of the primary lug 3.
- the adapter piece also comprises two circular openings 9B, 9C in which are respectively embedded the secondary pavilions with annular periphery of the protection elements 4A, 4B. It is understood that each circular opening 9B, 9C in the adaptation piece 9 has an annular groove for receiving the peripheral washer of a secondary roof of a protective element 4A, 4B.
- intermediate fitting piece 9 may comprise a single circular opening or more than two circular openings 9A, 9B, in order to connect one or more cables to the same bar.
- the first protection element 1 comprises at least one pair of symmetrically opposed primary horns 3, so as to be able to get at least one pair of cables on both sides opposite of the same bar.
- first insulating protection element 1 for such an embodiment.
- the first protective element is made of a flexible material, possibly outside the annular peripheral lips 3A of the two primary pavilions.
- this first protection element allows access to each side of the bar clamping means of the two lugs, such as the screw and the common nut, without the need to be folded towards the transformer cover as c This is the case when the flag (s) are all on the same side of a bar.
- the figure 10 shows from the top the connection of a single cable to a bar 7 on which is fitted the first protection element 1 shown in FIG. figure 9 .
- the terminal 10 terminating the incoming cable is screwed onto the bar 7, the cable itself not being shown in the figure. It can be seen that the lug 10 is protected by the second protection element 4A.
- an insulating cover 11 is fitted on the primary horn 3 in order to complete the insulation of the entire connection.
- the figure 11 shows the realization with two cables obtained.
- the relative angle between the two cables can be set in theory between 0 ° and more than 180 °.
- the angle range is not limited by the geometry of the insulating protection according to the invention, but rather by the arrangement of the transformer elements.
