Definitions
- the invention relates to an insulating protection with nestable elements for conductive elements of an electrical connection intended for forts currents (in a wide range from 20A up to a few thousands of amperes) at low voltage, consisting of a first element rigid conductor and at least one second conductive element coming fix at one end of the first conductive element with possibility for the second conductive element to be fixed in an angular position almost arbitrary with respect to the first conductive element.
- the invention applies more particularly to the electrical insulation of a connection between a terminal crimped to a low voltage cable and a busbar phase current protruding from one side of an electrical transformer of the type cabin.
- a protection forming a bent cover and consisting of two symmetrical half-shells in the vertical plane of connection passing through the bar and the electric cable and which can be made of a more or less flexible insulating material.
- the two half-shells are fixed to each other using bolts or rivets made of material insulating, which requires tools.
- this protection classic has an opening for the arrival of an electric cable making example an angle of 90 ° with the bar.
- a second orifice can also be located directly in the extension of the bar, i.e. for a cable termination at an angle close to 0 ° with the direction of the closed off.
- the fixed position of the opening (s) of such protection therefore does not allow not fixing the terminal of a cable to a bar of a transformer in any angular position of the cable termination.
- the sections generally used for cables are such that these can hardly be bent over their length of arrival, if although connecting a cable to a busbar may not be possible both in the direction (0 °) of the extension of the bar and 90 ° from this direction when the average direction of arrival of the cable in the vertical plane of the connection lies within a certain angular interval distant from 0 ° or 90 °, for example between 30 ° and 60 °, interval all the more wide as the cable is rigid.
- protection conventional insulation therefore does not adapt to different configurations of connection between a bar and a cable, i.e. configurations which differ in the angle defined by the bar and the cable once connected to each other the other.
- An object of the invention is to provide an insulating protection which is easy to install without tools and which, before covering the connection by the protection, allows a wide range of possible angles for the angular positioning of the termination of a cable in the vertical plane connection.
- the subject of the invention is an insulating protection consisting of at least at least two elements partially or fully produced in one flexible insulating material intended to cover the elements of a connection electric produced by the junction between the end of a busbar and at least one cable passing a strong current at low voltage, the termination of a cable being fixed to the busbar in an angular position determined after tightening of the connection elements, characterized in that said protection consists of a first and at least a second protective element each in the form of an extended barrel on one or two of its sides by at least one flag, in that the barrel of the first protective element is intended to be fitted on the bar conductive and the barrel of a second protective element is intended to be fitted on a cable termination, in that a secondary pavilion a second protective element is intended to be fitted either directly in a primary building of a first protective element either in an intermediate adapter piece itself fitted into said primary pavilion, and in that the nesting of said pavilions can be realized for a relative angular positioning of the first and second protective elements within a certain
- the respective flags of the first and second protection elements have an essentially circular section, we have the possibility with single elements (not mounted on a connection) to rotate the second protective element with respect to the first protective element after a simple fitting of the two pavilions from an angular position any.
- the free angular positioning of the two elements of protection allows, before the protective elements are fitted, to ability to choose angular position of second conductive element by relation to the first conductive element in a wide angular interval can approach the full turn (360 °) and preferably greater than 180 °. This is particularly important for the wiring of connections bar type / electrical cable already existing on transformers in service where it is not possible to change the position angle of a bar in relation to an electric cable in the vertical plane formed by the cable.
- a protection according to the invention allows the clamping of the terminal, and therefore the positioning of the second protective element, indifferently on the face right or left of the bar.
- Figure 1 is a front view of a first protective element of the insulating protection according to the invention.
- Figure 2 is a side view of a first protective element of the insulating protection according to the invention.
- Figure 3 is a top view of a first protective element of the insulating protection according to the invention.
- Figure 4 is a front view of a second protective element of the insulating protection according to the invention.
- Figure 5 is a side view of a second protective element of the insulating protection according to the invention.
- Figure 6 is a top view of a second protective element of the insulating protection according to the invention.
- FIG. 7 shows the insulating protection according to the invention with a first protective element fitted into a second protective element.
- FIG. 8 shows an embodiment of the insulating protection according to the invention for the connection of two cables to the same bar of the same side of the bar.
- Figure 9 shows an embodiment of a first protective element insulation according to the invention for the connection of two cables to the same bar on each side of the bar.
- Figure 10 shows the connection of a single cable to a busbar on which is fitted the first protective element shown in the Figure 9 with an insulating cover fitted on a primary roof.
- Figure 11 shows the connection of two cables to a busbar on which is fitted the first protective element shown in the figure 9.
- the insulating protection according to the invention consists of a first and a second protective element each in the form of a barrel surmounted by a pavilion of essentially circular section, i.e. annular periphery.
- the first protective element 1 has a barrel 2 having two faces each of mainly shape rectangular, designed to be fitted into an exit bar of a transformer and extending in an axial direction D.
- the part top of the barrel is extended on one side by an open pavilion 3 having a peripheral washer and called primary flag herein.
- the circular opening of said primary pavilion that is to say its axis of symmetry, is oriented perpendicular to direction D, generally in the direction of alignment of transformer bars.
- the tubular barrel 2 can have the shape of a parallelepiped or a cylinder depending on the shape of the bar in which it should be fitted. Most of transformers have bars at the outlet, the ends of which form parallel rectangular plates aligned and separated from each other by certain distance of electrical insulation. A bar is usually pierced at least one opening provided for clamping the cable lug against a on both sides of the bar, for example by screwing. Because of the symmetry of each bar, a first protective element 1 can be fitted on a bar with its primary pavilion 3 oriented on one side or the other of the bar, allowing the clamping of a terminal either on the face right or left of the bar.
- the primary pavilion 3 has at its opening an annular peripheral lip 3A which defines an annular groove 3B.
- the lip 3A and the groove 3B serve as a stop for the peripheral washer of the secondary pavilion of the second protection element.
- the primary pavilion 3 shown in Figures 1 to 3 here has a section fully circular.
- the second protective element 4 has a barrel 5 which extends in an axial direction E and which is surmounted by a secondary pavilion 6.
- This pavilion 6 is oriented perpendicular to direction E and is arranged at the top and on one side of the was 5.
- the tubular barrel 5 is generally cylindrical in shape since it must cover the tubular part with a terminal which is generally crimped on a circular section cable.
- the second protective element 4 is preferably fitted by its barrel 5 in the termination of a cable for allow the cable to pass through the barrel before the terminal connection to the bar is not crimped on said termination. Once the terminal crimped and fixed to the bar, the protective element can be slid to cover the terminal. Alternatively, it is still possible to provide an element of protection flexible enough to be that an already crimped terminal can pass in the barrel of this element.
- the secondary pavilion 6 has a peripheral washer 6A intended for enter the groove 3B of the primary pavilion 3 as is shown in Figure 7.
- the annular peripheral lip 3A and the washer peripheral 6A are preferably made of a plastic material electrical insulation, each element having to be relatively flexible while retaining a certain rigidity, so that an operator can engage manually the peripheral washer 6A in the groove 3B without difficulty excessive while allowing the second element to be sufficient maintained by the first once engaged.
- the secondary pavilion 6 shown in Figures 4 to 6 also has a circular or essentially circular section which allows, by a simple interlocking of the secondary pavilion in the primary pavilion, to realize almost all possible angular positions between the element of protection 1 and protection element 4.
- FIG 7 there is shown with first hatched lines, a low voltage bar 7, for example fixed on the cover of a transformer, and with second hatched lines an electrical cable 8 connected at 90 ° to the bar 7.
- the barrel 2 of the protective element 1 is fitted on the bar 7 and the barrel 5 of the protective element 4 is fitted onto the cable 8.
- fixing the cable 8 to the bar 7 may be by example a fixing by a screw crossing the cable lug as well as the bar and tightened by bolt on the side of the bar opposite the terminal.
- the protective elements 1 and 4 are preferably made of a material electrical insulating plastic which is flexible enough to enclose closer the bar 7 and the cable 8.
- the flexibility of the elements of protection 1 and 4 must allow the primary pavilions to be lowered and secondary 3 and 6 respectively of the bar and the terminal that they cover and fold them back against drums 2 and 5, so as to free up the means of tightening of the terminal to allow the tightening or the separation of the pod and bar.
- FIG. 8 shows an insulating protection according to the invention, protecting a connection between a bar such as 7 and two electric cables 8A, 8B tightened on the same face of the bar while allowing a wide angular positioning interval between each cable and bar before tightening.
- a first protective element 1 is connected to two second protective elements 4A, 4B, and here comprises a primary pavilion 3 whose section is rectangular as well as a room intermediate 9 of adaptation which is interposed between the primary pavilion 3 and secondary pavilions with circular cross section of protective elements 4A, 4B.
- This rectangular adapter piece has a lip peripheral 9A preferably made of a flexible material for fit into the rectangular groove of the primary pavilion 3.
- the room adapter also has two circular openings 9B, 9C in which are respectively embedded the secondary pavilions to annular periphery of the protective elements 4A, 4B. It is understood that each circular opening 9B, 9C in the adaptation piece 9 has an annular groove to receive the peripheral washer of a roof secondary of a protective element 4A, 4B.
- the intermediate adaptation piece 9 may include a single circular opening or more than two circular openings 9A, 9B, in order to connect one or more cables to the same bus.
- the first protective element 1 comprises at minus a pair of symmetrically opposite primary pavilions 3, so able to route at least one pair of cables from two opposite sides of the same bar.
- Figure 9 is shown seen in profile a first element of insulating protection 1 for such an embodiment.
- the first element protection is made of a flexible material, possibly outside of the annular peripheral lips 3A of the two primary pavilions.
- this first protective element allows access on each side of the bar to the means for tightening the two lugs, such as the screw and the nut common, without the need to be folded back to the transformer cover as is the case when the pavilion (s) are all on the same side of a closed off.
- Figure 10 shows a top view of the connection of a single cable to a bar 7 on which the first protective element 1 is fitted shown in Figure 9.
- the terminal 10 terminating the incoming cable is screwed on the bar 7, the cable itself not being shown in the figure.
- the terminal 10 is protected by the second protective element 4A.
- an insulating cover 11 is fitted on the roof primary 3 to complete the insulation of the entire connection.
- FIG. 11 shows the two-cable embodiment obtained.
- the relative angle between the two cables can be fixed in theory between 0 ° and more than 180 °. In practical, the angle range is not limited by the geometry of the protection insulating according to the invention, but rather by the arrangement of the elements of the transformer.
