Description

The invention relates to a coaxial connector arrangement according to the preamble of Claim 1.

In electrical systems, it is common to have different electrical circuits separate circuit boards by pushing them into a housing an electrical application. Examples of this are base stations of cellular nodes or computer cases. Here the different electrical circuits of the separate circuit boards electrically with each other are connected, often including coaxial connections for transmitting High frequency signals are to be produced. To make these connections not manually It is known to have to manufacture at appropriate locations on the circuit boards To provide coaxial connectors, which when inserting the circuit boards interlock in the housing and thus a corresponding make electrical contact between the circuits of the circuit boards, this contact is realized automatically when inserting circuit boards becomes.

However, the problem arises here that it is due to tolerances and inaccuracies both when attaching the coaxial connector to a respective one Circuit board as well as in guides in the housing for circuit boards those coaxial connectors that should interlock may not exactly aligned with each other, but have a certain offset to each other or are even tilted against each other. To compensate for this offset It was previously necessary to use at least one of the coaxial connectors of a coaxial connection producing pair of coaxial connectors with respect to the circuit board trained to move and this movable coaxial connector via a coaxial cable to the electrical circuit on the circuit board connect to. However, this has the disadvantage that there is an electrical quality Coaxial connection deteriorated due to the additional coaxial cable, lots of installation space is required and at the same time result in high production costs.

Alternatively, it is known to have a movable between the coaxial connectors To provide contact sleeve. WO 00/52788 is a printed circuit board coaxial connection known with an adapter, which in one or both adjoining connector elements snapped into place by means of a ball joint. Result it However, there are problems with high-frequency applications in the GHz range poor electrical properties, especially with regard to RF matching, because of the variable contact point between the outer conductors of Adapters and connector elements due to the ball joint.

The invention has for its object an improved coaxial connector assembly the above Kind of providing a mechanical compensation of misalignments between coaxial connectors and at the same time, repeatable good electrical properties also in the high frequency range regarding RF adjustment, i.e. a low reflection of RF power having.

This task is accomplished by a coaxial connector arrangement of the above. Kind with the claim 1 marked features solved. Advantageous embodiments of the Invention are specified in the respective dependent claims.

With an arrangement of the above Art is provided according to the invention that the Mating area of the first coaxial connector with respect to diameter and / or The length of the inner and outer conductors is designed according to the standard and the plug-in area of the second coaxial connector with respect to diameter and / or length of Inner and outer conductors differ from the plug area of the first coaxial connector is formed, the diameter and / or length of the inner or Outer conductor of the plug area of the second coaxial connector by 10% to 200% larger or longer than the corresponding dimensions of the plug-in area of the first coaxial connector, so that the contact sleeve in the second coaxial connector with variable insertion depth can be plugged in contacting and that the contact sleeve on its facing the first coaxial connector End has a circumferential elevation and the first coaxial connector has a circumferential annular groove in its plug area such that the contact sleeve with the first coaxial connector by engagement of the circumferential Elevation in the annular groove is connected in contact.

This has the advantage that there is an offset between the two coaxial connectors can be compensated for by the contact sleeve, while at the same time by the possibility a variable insertion depth of the contact sleeve in the second coaxial connector a reduced mechanical load on contacting parts of the contact sleeve and the coaxial connector is achieved. Despite the deviation from a standard interface in one of the coaxial connectors is surprising Way improved electrical properties of the coaxial connection, especially with regard to RF adaptation in high-frequency applications at the same time functionally reliable connection and simple and inexpensive production the coaxial connector assembly.

In a preferred embodiment, the plug area of the first coaxial connector as an SMP interface.

A simple and inexpensive manufacturability of the coaxial connector arrangement is achieved one in that at least one of the coaxial connectors than on the Surface of a circuit board attachable component (SMD component) is formed is.

The coaxial plug arrangement has for the simultaneous establishment of several coaxial connections one of the desired transmission channels Number of pairs with first and second coaxial connectors with each Contact sleeve on.

For different orientations when establishing the coaxial connection by means of the coaxial connector arrangement is at least one of the coaxial connectors designed as a coaxial angle connector or coaxial straight connector.

Pre-centering and restriction of freedom of movement of the contact sleeves with additional mechanical stability you can achieve that all the first and / or all second coaxial connectors of the coaxial connector arrangement in each case a common housing, in particular a plastic housing are. At the same time, this facilitates fastening the coaxial plug connector, for example on a circuit board, simply the respective plastic housing gripped with all respective coaxial connectors on the circuit board put on and then, for example, for soldering the coaxial connector is driven with the circuit board through an infrared oven. So all coaxial connectors are connected to the board at the same time and the Circuit board does not have to be cumbersome individually with the coaxial connectors be equipped.

A large catch area for one located in the first coaxial connector Contact sleeve is achieved in that the housing of the second coaxial connector expanding conically around an insertion opening thereof is trained.

For example, the first coaxial connector is on a first circuit board a first electrical circuit and the second coaxial connector a separate second circuit board of a second electrical circuit arranged.

The preferred embodiment of an example shown in FIGS. 1, 2 and 4 Coaxial connector assembly according to the invention comprises pairs, each with a first Coaxial connector 10 and a second coaxial connector 12, between which each have a contact sleeve 14 designed as a coaxial conductor is. The coaxial connectors 10, 12 are each surface mountable Components (SMD - surface mount device) trained and represent a transition from a coaxial structure to a planar structure. Respective fastening pins 16 provide a mechanically fixed connection to the respective, not shown Circuit boards forth, the first coaxial connector on one first circuit board and the second coaxial connector on one second circuit board are arranged. Respective electrical circuits the circuit boards should with the coaxial connector assembly according to the invention be electrically connected to each other.

All first coaxial connectors 10 are in a common first plastic housing 11 and all second coaxial connectors 12 are in a common one second plastic housing 13 arranged. That way you can always a whole group of first and second coaxial connectors 10, 12 gripped and placed and mounted on a respective circuit board. A surface spans in the central region of the second plastic housing 13 15 the middle two second coaxial connectors 12. Here an assembly machine the second plastic housing 13 with the inside, as Angled connectors designed second coaxial connectors 12 by means of of a vacuum gripper suction or grip and onto the circuit board for assembly put on. The arrangement of first coaxial connectors 10 in the first Plastic housing 11, since it is a straight connector, from front, i.e. from the side of the opening of the plug-in areas, gripped and put on become.

Der Außenleiter 18 der Kontakthülse 14 ist an jeweiligen Enden ebenfalls spannzangenartig ausgebildet und kontaktiert jeweilige Außenleiter 26 der Koaxialsteckverbinder 10, 12.3 and 5 that the contact sleeve 14 has an outer conductor 18 and has an inner conductor 20, which by means of a dielectric 21 within the Contact sleeve 14 is held. At the ends of the inner conductor 20 are corresponding Collet-like openings 22 for receiving the respective inner conductor pin 24 of the first and second coaxial connectors 10, 12 are formed. The Outer conductor 18 of the contact sleeve 14 is also collet-like at respective ends formed and contacted respective outer conductor 26 of the coaxial connector 10, 12.

In this case, anyway reliable RF contact with good RF adaptation, i.e. low reflection of RF power, the coaxial connector assembly according to the invention formed as follows: The contact sleeve 14 has the first Coaxial connector 10 facing end a circumferential elevation 28th and the first coaxial connector 10 has in its plug area, i.e. the Area in which the contact sleeve is inserted, a circumferential annular groove 30 such on that the contact sleeve 14 with the first coaxial connector 10 through Engagement of the peripheral elevation 28 in the annular groove 30 is connected in a contacting manner is. There is only a fixed insertion depth for the contact sleeve 14 in the first coaxial connector 10 and this is through the interaction fixed and fixed by circumferential elevation 28 with the annular groove 30. To the The opening of the plug-in area is the first plastic housing 11 formed that a tilting of the contact sleeve 14 with respect to the first coaxial connector 10 is possible, but is limited in its tilt angle.

In the case of the second coaxial connectors 12, the second plastic housing 13 around the openings of the plug regions of the second coaxial plug connector 12 formed that the housing 13 conically 32 away from the plug-in area (Fig. 3) expanded. In this way, there is a corresponding catch area for the Contact sleeve 14 available, if this, in the first coaxial connector 10 inserted, is already slightly tilted. The flanks of the conical extension 32 lead the contact sleeve 14 inwards to the respective opening of the plug-in area the second coaxial connector 12 when the first and second coaxial connectors 10, 12 to be moved towards each other.

The respective plug area of the first coaxial plug connector 10 is in terms of diameter and length of inner conductor and outer conductor in accordance with standards and corresponds, for example, to a sogn. SMP interface. In contrast, the respective plug area of the second coaxial connector 12 deviates from that Mating area of the first coaxial connector 10 and deviating from a corresponding one Norm trained. Here, the mating area, i.e. Inner conductor and External conductors in the area in which they contact the contact sleeve, such trained that the contact sleeve with variable insertion depth in the respective second coaxial connector 12 can be inserted. In other words, it is not Locking between the contact sleeve and outer conductor 26 of the second coaxial connector 12 provided. Instead there is a contact area between the outer conductors 18 of the contact sleeve 14 and the outer conductor 26 of the second coaxial connector 12 wider than the thickness of the circumferential elevation 28. So can the end of the contact sleeve facing the second coaxial connector 12 14 over a predetermined distance within the second coaxial connector 12 slide, at the same time ensuring a corresponding RF contact is. For this purpose, the diameter of the inner conductor pin 24 of the second coaxial connector is also 12 and its length is larger than the dimensions of the corresponding inner conductor pin 24 of the first coaxial connector 10. Through this insertion of the contact sleeve 14 into the second coaxial connector 12 with variable, i.e. not a fixed insertion depth, can also Tolerances regarding a distance between the first and second coaxial connectors 10, 12 are balanced. Mechanical loads are also reduced between the contacting parts of outer conductors 18, 26 and Inner conductors 20, 24. These arise, for example, in that when tilted Contact sleeve 14 of the rigid inner conductor pin 24 of the second coaxial connector 12 the inner conductor sleeve 20 of the contact sleeve 14 must widen. Thereby the variable insertion depth of the contact sleeve 14 not to the stop in the Mating area of the second coaxial connector 12 must be plugged in To establish a secure RF contact, the mechanical loads are in the coaxial connector assembly is reduced.

Circumferential elevation 28 and circumferential annular groove 30 are expedient formed such that the contact sleeves are essentially captive in the first Coaxial connectors 10 are held. This locking connection is possibly with appropriate tool releasable. Thus, they are mounted on a circuit board first coaxial connector 10 the contact sleeves 14, while that on another Board mounted second coaxial connector 12 an empty plug area have and are ready to receive the contact sleeves 14 when the two boards for establishing a plug-in connection with RF contacts each other be approximated.

Surprisingly, there is a much better RF adjustment, i.e. lower Reflection of RF power in the area of the coaxial connector arrangement according to the invention over a wide frequency range despite the departure from standard dimensions in the plug area of the second coaxial connector 12. This surprising Effect is metrological in Fig. 6 compared to a conventional one Illustrated coaxial connector arrangements, which is only a tiltable Has contact sleeve. The reflection loss is on the Y axis 32 in the graphic plotted in dB over the frequency in GHz on the X axis 34. The dashed Line 36 shows the course of the reflection loss for a conventional one Coaxial connector arrangement, while the solid line 38 the course of the reflection attenuation represents for a coaxial connector assembly according to the invention. It it is immediately apparent that the coaxial plug arrangement according to the invention is a has up to 10 dB lower reflection of RF power. Furthermore, the value the reflection loss for the coaxial connector assembly according to the invention always significantly better than the corresponding value for a conventional coaxial connector arrangement.
