Definitions
- the present invention relates to a grounding device with a nut held in a cage and a tightening screw for ground connection of components to fastening parts with electrically non-conductive surface coating, according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- a grounding device of this kind is of the German patent DE 3714500 known here.
- This known device has the disadvantage that the cage when tightening the tightening screw can be deformed in an uncontrollable manner and specific structural means are necessary to set the nut in the cage, especially in the axial direction.
- the present invention has for its object to provide a grounding device that does not have the aforementioned disadvantages.
- FIG. 1 shows schematically a grounding device according to the invention
- FIGS. 2, 3 and 4 show in a view from below and in two rotated by 90 ° side views of a first embodiment of a cage nut according to the invention.
- FIG. 5 shows in a plan view the shape of a flat band-shaped piece of material, starting from the cage according to the FIGS. 2 to 4 is formed.
- FIGS. 6, 7 and 8 show in a view from below and in two offset by 90 ° side views of a second embodiment of a cage of a cage nut according to the invention.
- FIG. 9 shows the shape of a flat band-shaped piece of material, starting from the cage according to the FIGS. 6 to 8 is trained.
- FIG. 1 shows a grounding device according to the invention 1 with a grounding nut 2, a nut associated with this cage 3 and a screw 4 for fastening with simultaneous grounding of a plate or a component 5 to a fastening part 6, for example a rail.
- the surfaces 7, 8 of the fastening part are provided with an electrically insulating coating, for example a powder coating.
- the surface 9 of the plate 5 is electrically conductive. For passing the screw through the superimposed parts 5 and 6, these aligned holes 10 have corresponding shapes.
- the cage 3 is in a known manner from a flat piece of strip material according to the Figures 5 and 8th formed by appropriate bending in a known manner and has a rectangular nut 2 comprehensive cage area 12 and two opposite, adjoining the area 12 bracket 13.
- This Brackets are from the two ends of the band-shaped starting material according to the Figures 5 and 8th educated.
- Each bracket has a U-shaped profile, with a first leg 15 which rests against the underside of the nut 2 and extends to the axis thereof, and a second outer leg 16 which in the assembled state between the two facing surfaces 8 and 9 the fastening part 6 and the counterpart 5 comes to rest.
- the nut 2 is held by lateral lobes 18 on the open sides of the bracket in the cage.
- grounding tips 20 are formed, which are directed to the surface 7 of the fastening part.
- the tips 20 are arranged centrally on the leg.
- the grounding tip 20 forms the end of a tongue 21 punched out of the flat starting material, which extends from a position near an end 23 of the starting piece to the axis of a central circular hole 24 intended for insertion of the screw.
- the flat starting piece according to the FIG. 5 around the dash-dotted lines indicated l 1 , l 2 , l 3 and l 4 bent to the profile on the FIG. 3 is clearly shown to receive.
- the first leg 15 corresponds to the area between the bending lines l 2 and l 3 , which contains the end portion 24 with the grounding tip 20 of the tongue 21. As the FIG. 3 shows, the tip 20 is bent from the plane to the legs 15 in the direction of the second leg.
- a longitudinally extending tongue 27 is formed, which in the shaping by corresponding bending of the Leg in the plane of the first leg 15 remains, as the FIG. 7 clearly shows.
- the end of this tongue 27 is bent in the direction of the second leg 16 and forms the grounding tip 20, which penetrates the coating on the surface 7 of the fastening part 6 when tightening the screw in the assembled state.
- the cage nut according to the invention described in the foregoing has numerous advantages. It allows a pre-assembly of the fastening part, in particular a rail, in the same manner as in a mother without grounding.
- the fastening part and the counterpart can lie flat on one another.
- the grounding tips or claws receive over the contact surface of the nut a direct direction of force for penetrating the insulating coating of the fastening part.

The cage nut according to the invention described in the foregoing has numerous advantages. It allows a pre-assembly of the fastening part, in particular a rail, in the same manner as in a mother without grounding. The fastening part and the counterpart can lie flat on one another. The grounding tips or claws receive over the contact surface of the nut a direct direction of force for penetrating the insulating coating of the fastening part.
