Description

The present invention relates to a light bulb including a base to which is bonded a filament, for emitting light radiation, having windings arranged spirally around an axis of revolution, bulb further including a plurality of supports, each having a connected end to the base and another end provided with a hook in contact with one of the windings of the filament.

Such a bulb is sold by the applicant under the reference PL10044067. In this bulb, the filament is held in position by means of a single metal support, one end of which is integral with the base and whose other end has a closed hook surrounding one of the filament windings, the two ends of the support being connected by a rod.
The known bulb is configured so that when the bulb is in its normal operating condition, the support rod is located below the filament. Now the Applicant has observed that the filament, when traversed by a current, tends to deform mechanically by developing a curvature moving down the ends of the filament on either side of the hook now in position said filament.
Thus, several windings can come into contact with the support rod, creating a short circuit that can be destructive for the support and the filament itself.

Les supports sont de préférence arrangés avec une distribution angulaire régulière autour du filament.EP0271858 discloses a bulb including a base to which is bonded a filament, for emitting light radiation, having windings arranged spirally about an axis of revolution, bulb further including a plurality of supports, each having an end connected to the base and another end provided with a hook in contact with one of the filament windings. The supports are preferably arranged with a regular angular distribution around the filament.

The present invention aims to prevent any risk of short circuit related to deformation of the filament, by proposing a bulb in which the extent of deformation of the filament is limited.

Indeed, according to the invention, a bulb according to the introductory paragraph is characterized in that the hooks are all located on the same side of the axis of revolution of the filament. The multiplicity of supports provided by the invention allows a better hold in position of the filament and prevents the simultaneous contact of several of its windings with the same support.

Such an embodiment simplifies the manufacture of the supports, which can thus be constituted by a single rod provided with a plurality of hooks. The realization of the connection between the supports and the base will also be simplified.

In a particular embodiment of the lamp according to the invention, the supports are intended to be located above the filament when the bulb is in its normal operating conditions, the brackets of the supports are open hooks.

Indeed, when the hooks are closed, the filament must be somehow screwed into the openings of the hooks, which takes a non-negligible time which has repercussions on the manufacturing costs of the bulb. The use of open hooks simply requires to put the windings on the hooks and thus reduces the manufacturing costs of the bulb

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, one end of the filament being secured to the base, the other end of the filament is connected to said base via an armature formed by a rod located outside a plane defined by the axis of revolution and points of contact between the hooks and the filament.

This embodiment of the armature ensures that it is outside a path that would follow, under the effect of the mechanical deformation observed for the known bulb, the windings of the filament if they they were kept in position. Such a choice prevents any risk of short circuit between the filament and the frame.

The invention will be better understood with the aid of the following description, given by way of nonlimiting example and with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
  • FIG. 1 is a diagram describing a known bulb, and
  • Figure 2 is a diagram describing a bulb according to a preferred embodiment of the invention.

Figure 1 shows schematically a known bulb in a configuration corresponding to its normal operating conditions. This bulb has an SO plug and a TUB tube made of a transparent material, for example glass. This tube encloses a filament FIL, intended to emit light radiation, having windings arranged in a spiral around an axis of revolution AX. One of the ends of this filament FIL is linked to a base BA, the other end being connected to said base via an armature ARM, materialized by a metal rod disposed above the filament FIL. The filament wire and the armature ARM thus form a current circuit connected to the plug SO. In the known bulb, the filament FIL is held in position by means of a single metal support SUP, one end of which is integral with the base BA and of which another end has a closed hook CH surrounding one of the windings of the filament FIL. , the two ends of the support SUP being connected by a rod disposed below the filament FIL. Applicant has observed that the filament FIL, when traversed by a current, tends to deform mechanically by developing a curvature moving down the ends of the filament FIL on either side of the hook maintaining in position said filament . Thus, several windings can come into contact with the SUP support rod, creating a short circuit which can be destructive for the SUP carrier and the FIL filament itself.

FIG. 2 schematically represents an ampoule according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, in a configuration corresponding to its conditions normal operation. The elements common to the known bulb are provided with identical references. In this embodiment of the invention, the filament FIL is held in position by means of three hooks H1, H2, H3 connected to the base BA via a rod.
The invention allows a better hold in position of the filament FIL and prevents it from deforming downwards around the median hook H2. In this particular embodiment of the invention, the hooks H1, H2, H3 are all located above the filament FIL, which makes it possible to use only one rod to connect said hooks to the base BA, and decreases again the risks of short circuit related to a possible deformation of the FIL filament, such deformation being down.
Furthermore, the hooks H1, H2 and H3 are here open hooks, which greatly simplifies the manufacture of the bulb, since the filament may be placed on said hooks while it should be screwed into closed hooks.
Finally, in this embodiment of the invention, the armature ARM is constituted by a rod located outside a plane defined by the axis of revolution AX and contact points between the hooks H1, H2, H3 and filament FIL. As a possible deformation of the filament FIL can in principle only occur in the plane defined by the axis of revolution AX and said contact points, the particular positioning of the armature ARM eliminates any risk of contact between said armature and windings of the filament FIL.
