  • This invention relates to fitments for containers such as paperboard cartons, such cartons being very commonly used as containers for milk or fruit juices etc.
  • Paperboard cartons have begun to be sold with plastics closures, avoiding the need to unfold or cut the carton. Such closures sometimes operate around a pre-cut opening, which has been resealed by a peelable foil. Other types of closure can, on opening, cut through a foil to gain access to the inside of the carton, or alternatively push out a pre-scored section of carton.

As the separation is progressive around the track, the tendency for the removable section 15 to delaminate is reduced or eliminated.
  • hinge lines 17 and 18 Hinge line 17 is adjacent the edge of the panel 10, whilst hinge line 18 is generally towards the middle of the free region 16.
  • the formation of hinge lines 17 & 18 helps to allow the pre-scored track to separate, in preference to a delamination of the layers of the removable section 15. It has been found that by making the free region 16 as much as a quarter or even a half of the total area of the removable section, delamination can be eliminated.
  • fitment of the current invention can be applied to a gable top carton, after it has been filled and closed, allowing the possibility for aseptic filling if required. It will be appreciated that alternative designs of housing or ring pull handle, for example, could be employed without departing from the scope of the present invention, as well as different methods of attachment of fitment to the container. Also, the fitment may be deployed with containers other than paperboard cartons, such as plastics containers or foil/plastics laminates.

Claims (11)

  1. Einrichtung (1 ), die zum Gebrauch bei einem mit einem Betätigungsabschnitt (15) versehenen Behälter bestimmt ist, welcher Betätigungsabschnitt Zugang zu dem Inhalt des Behälters ermöglicht, die aus Folgendem besteht:
    i.) einem Kunststoffgehäuse (2), welches dahingehend ausgebildet ist, dass es auf dem Behälter befestigt werden kann, der den Betätigungsabschnitt (15) umgibt und
    ii.) einer Lasche (9), welche einen Feldabschnitt (10) aufweist, der dahingehend eingerichtet ist, dass er an dem Betätigungsabschnitt (15) des Behälters befestigt werden kann, mit einem Griffabschnitt (11), der sich ausgehend von dem Feldabschnitt (10) erstreckt und eine Vielzahl von Stegen (13) aufweist, mittels welchen die Lasche (9) mit dem Gehäuse (2) dahingehend in Verbindung steht, dass sie gegenüber diesem schwenkbar ist, wobei ein Schwenken der Lasche (9) mit der Maßgabe eingerichtet ist, dass eine Trennung wenigstens eines Teils des Betätigungsabschnitts (15) von dem Behälter möglich ist, an dem sie befestigt ist,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Stege (13) mit der Maßgabe angeordnet sind, dass sie infolge einer Schwenkung der Lasche brechen, so dass eine vollständige Entfernung der Lasche (9) zusammen mit dem Betätigungsabschnitt (15) möglich ist.
  2. Einrichtung (1) nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Gehäuse (2), die Stege (13) und die Lasche (9) einstückig geformt sind.
  3. Einrichtung (1) nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Lasche (9) einen Nasenabschnitt (12) aufweist, der sich dem Griffabschnitt (11) gegenüberliegend befindet.
  4. Einrichtung (1) nach einem der vorangegangenen Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie ferner einen Verschluss umfasst, der lösbar mit dem Gehäuse in Verbindung steht.
  5. Einrichtung (1) nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Außenseite des Gehäuses (2) mit einem Gewinde versehen ist, welches dazu bestimmt ist, mit einem komplementären Gewinde des Verschlusses zusammen zu wirken.
  6. Kombination, bestehend aus einem Behälter und einer aus Kunststoff bestehenden Einrichtung (1), wobei der Behälter einen Betätigungsabschnitt (15) aufweist, der dazu bestimmt ist, Zugang zu dem Inhalt des Behälters zu ermöglichen und wobei die Einrichtung aus Folgendem besteht:
    i) einem Kunststoffgehäuse (2), welches an dem Behälter befestigt ist, der den Betätigungsabschnitt (15) umgibt und
    ii) einer Lasche (9), welche einen Feldabschnitt (10) aufweist, der an dem Betätigungsabschnitt (15) des Behälters befestigt ist, einem Griffabschnitt (11 ), der sich ausgehend von dem Feldabschnitt (10) erstreckt und einer Vielzahl von Stegen (13), über welche die Lasche mit dem Gehäuse (2) mit der Maßgabe in Verbindung steht, dass die Lasche (9) relativ zu dem Gehäuse schwenkbar ist, wobei, um den Behälter zu öffnen, die Lasche (9) um die Stege (13) verschwenkt werden muss, um eine Trennung wenigstens eines Teils des Betätigungsabschnitts (15) zu ermöglichen,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Stege (13) durch den Nutzer im Anschluss an die Schwenkung der Lasche (9) relativ zu dem Gehäuse (2) gebrochen werden können, um eine vollständige Entfernung der Lasche zusammen mit dem Betätigungsabschnitt (15) von dem Rest des Behälters zu ermöglichen.
  7. Kombination nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Feldabschnitt (10) der Lasche (9) eine Fläche aufweist, die im Wesentlichen kleiner ist als die Fläche des Betätigungsabschnitts (15) des Behälters.
  8. Kombination nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Feldabschnitt (10) der Lasche (9) mit der Maßgabe gestaltet und bemessen ist, dass sich ein freier Bereich (16) des Betätigungsabschnitts (15) ergibt, welchen der Feldabschnitt (10) nicht abdeckt, wobei der Feldabschnitt (10) einen Nasenabschnitt (12) in der Nähe eines Abschnitts Betätigungsabschnitts (15) aufweist und wobei sich der Nasenabschnitt (12) dem freien Bereich (16) des Betätigungsabschnitts (15) gegenüberliegend befindet.
  9. Kombination nach einem der Ansprüche 6 bis 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Betätigungsabschnitt (15) eine Fläche des Behälters ist, die von einer vorgekerbten Spur (14) umgeben ist.
  10. Kombination nach einem der Ansprüche 6 bis 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Betätigungsabschnitt (15) eine durchstoßbare Folie ist.
  11. Kombination bestehend aus den Ansprüchen 8 und 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Nasenabschnitt (12) des Feldabschnitts (10) sich in der Nähe der vorgekerbten Spur (14) befindet.
