Definitions
- the invention relates to projectors for vehicles, with a mobile screen defining a cutoff, especially projectors comprising a reflector in form of ellipsoid of revolution.
- a screen or cover movable relative to the housing so that the screen can occupy two different positions by relative to a beam emitted by the reflector.
- the screen partially obscures the beam.
- the screen ensures the change from main beam to low beam by forming the regulatory break defining the passing beam.
- the screen constitutes a cache called "cache pour vacancier" in defining the cut to the left or to the right depending on the country in which the vehicle is traveling.
- a projector of this type is for example described in the document EP-0 688 999 in the name of the applicant.
- the position of the cover can be controlled performed for example manually by the user at means of an actuator of the cover.
- a return spring is provided for stabilize each of the two positions of the cover. This spring requests the cover located in a position given to tend to maintain it in this position.
- projectors of this type include a quite a lot of pieces.
- An object of the invention is to provide a projector having a simpler structure.
- control arm forming the spring of remember we reduce the number of parts of the projector, this which simplifies the structure.
- arm of control can have large dimensions, you can take advantage of these dimensions to best adjust the mechanical properties of the spring.
- the projector 2 includes a reflector 4 in the shape of an ellipsoid of revolution around an axis longitudinal horizontal 6 forming a direction main projector lighting.
- the projector has a lamp holder 8 fixed to the reflector at the back and carrying a lamp not illustrated extending in the reflector to a first reflector focus.
- the projector also has a lens holder 10 fixed in the front part of the reflector 4 and a lens 12 fixed in the front part of the lens holder to a second focus of the reflector.
- the lamp holder 8, the reflector 4 and the lens holder 10 follow along axis 6 and here constitute a frame of the projector.
- the projector can further include a housing containing these elements.
- the projector has a screen 14 or cover of a known type, for example of the document DE-198 43 287 or EP-0 688 999.
- the screen 14 is movable with rotation about a perpendicular horizontal axis 16 to axis 6.
- the screen is flat or curved and is movable between a position where it extends in a plane vertical perpendicular to axis 6 to intercept a important part of the light beam reflected by the reflector 4, and an inclined position relative to the vertical plane, for example a position close to the horizontal tilted forward where it does not intercept only moderately or not at all this beam.
- It's about here of a code / route screen but it could also be a right-hand drive / left-hand drive screen. In this case, the screen is movable in rotation from one to the other of the two positions and intercepts parts beam in the two positions.
- the screen 14 is rigidly secured to a rod rectilinear 20 forming its rotation shaft.
- Rod 20 connected to the screen is movable in rotation around its axis 16.
- the rod 20 extends from the side of its end straight by a straight segment bent at right angles rearward.
- the end 28 of this segment 26 is folded back on itself to form a loop.
- the projector has a lateral support 30 formed from a cut and folded plate.
- Support 30 has a planar front end portion fixed at the junction between the reflector 4 and the lens holder 10 as well as a rear end portion also flat in shape extending to the right of the lamp holder 8 with reference to axis 6. It includes a middle portion connecting these two end portions and also flat. The middle portion is inclined by in relation to management 6. In this way, the portion rear is closer to axis 6 than the front portion and the support generally follows the lateral contour of the reflector.
- the projector has an actuating arm 24 extending generally back and forth parallel to the direction of axis 6 of the projector.
- An extremity rear 32 of arm 24 extends to the right of the lamp holder 8 with reference to axis 6.
- a front end 34 of the arm extends to the right of the front portion of the projector.
- the arm here consists of a curved metal rod and folded to form the different parts of the arm.
- the arm has a middle portion 36 formed by a succession of several inclined straight sections relative to each other and succeeding each other by zigzag, back and forth along the arm.
- the front end of the arm 34 is formed by a section folded out at right angles to the outside so that this section extends in a direction horizontal transverse perpendicular to axis 6. Ce section is threaded into the loop 28 forming the free end of the rod connected to the screen. This articulation allows arm 24 to follow the trajectory in an arc of a rod 20 when the screen 14 is moved from one of its positions to the other.
- the rear end 32 of the arm comprises a series of successive turns having a common axis 35 perpendicular to the axis 6 of the projector.
- This part of the arm is threaded on a pivot finger 40 secured to the rear end of the support 30. From the so the arm is rotatably connected to the frame and support around the horizontal axis 35 perpendicular to axis 6.
- the turns extend by a loop forming the free end of the rear part 32 of the arm.
- the arm 24 is arranged so that the portion median 36 of the arm is contracted whatever the arm position, that is to say whatever the screen position. It results from this contraction that regardless of the position occupied by the screen among its two end positions, the arm requests the screen to tend to keep it in this position.
- the contraction of the middle portion 36 of the arm is strongest when, during displacement of the screen by the user, the screen reaches the halfway position between its two stable positions. This mid-course position forms a hard point that the user has to cross the screen so that he goes from one to one of its two positions.
- the entire rear portion 32 of the arm forms a rigid part substantially non-deformable by comparison with the middle portion of the arms. It is this rear part which is preferably operated by the user to operate the screen. AT this end, to move the screen, the user lowers or raise the loop ending the rear part of the arm so as to rotate this rear part around its axis of rotation 35 and to force the rest of the arm to move the screen to the other position. As we sees, the middle portion of the screen forms a spring stabilizing the screen in its two end positions race.
- the arm 24 and the support 30 extend to the outside of the projector.
- FIGS. 3 and 4 A second mode has been illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4. embodiment of the invention in which the projector has many points in common with that of Figures 1 and 2 and which will not be described again. With the exception of the arm, most of the constituents of the projector are strictly identical to those of the first mode.
- the free end 28 of the right end part of the control rod 20 of screen 14 has an additional bend in projector direction and ends as previously by a loop. It follows that the axis general of the loop is no longer, as in the first mode, horizontal and transverse to axis 6 of the projector but on the contrary extends globally from before backward and tilted up or down in depending on the position occupied by the screen.
- the rear end 132 of the arm 124 is here formed by a section of the rod in an arc extending in a plane perpendicular to axis 6 and generally centered on this axis 6.
- This section 132 is guided at rotation around this axis in a groove defined by the external face of the lamp holder 8 also in an arc of circle and centered on axis 6.
- the end end of the rear portion of the arm extends in upper part of the arc of a circle.
- the part back of the arm extends from the end bottom of the arc and forms in the direction of the back of the projector a 136 pin loop hair formed by two straight sections substantially parallel to each other and to axis 6, extending to the right of the lamp holder and joining in rear part of the projector.
- this loop 138 is extended by a curved median section with center of curvature directed towards axis 6 and forming the middle portion of the arm.
- the free end of the front portion 134 is curved and engaged in loop 28 of segment 26.
- the user operates the arm 124 to change the position of the screen by means of the hairpin part 138 of the rear portion.
- the part rear 132 slides into the throat of the bulb holder and guides the arm in rotation around the axis 6.
- this spring is contracted, regardless of the position of the screen and in particular when the screen occupies its two positions limit switch.
- the strongest contraction in spring is encountered during screen operation by the user when the screen reaches its area of mid-course which forms a hard point. This contraction of the spring is formed by more or less deflection significant of the curved middle area of the arm 124.
- the actuating arm 24, 124 of the screen which simultaneously forms the return spring stabilizing the screen position. He is therefore in principle unnecessary to provide a return spring additional.
- the two end-of-travel positions the screen will be precisely defined by stops at the interior of the cavity formed by the reflector and the lens holder in a manner known per se and which has no been detailed here.
- the arm is particularly simple by means of a single piece forming the spring and comprising a part which can be directly operated by the user.
