Insbesondere zum Freigeben des Zuganges zu dem Messerwellenpaar 16, 18 läßt sich die Bearbeitungsstation 20 um die Achse 28 in Papierlaufrichtung, z. B. in die beiden Position S2 und S3 schwenken. Dabei kann eine Rasterung vorgesehen werden, die das Bearbeitungselement 20 in definierten Rasterabständen zwischen der Schwenkposition S 1 und S3 hält.

Die Seitenwand 34 des Bearbeitungselementes 32 ist so geformt, daß sie in die Ausnehmung 17 der Seitenwand des Falzwerkes eingeführt und dort arretiert werden kann. Sie kann hierzu insbesondere einen Vorsprung aufweisen, der in die Ausnehmung 17 eingreift. Mit einem derartig ausgestalteten Bearbeitungselement 32 läßt sich die Variabilität des Falzwerkes deutlich steigern, da das nachgelagerte Messerwellenpaar 36 und 38 zusätzliche Bearbeitungselemente aufnehmen können, mit denen zusätzliche Nuten, Ritzen oder Perforierungen eingebracht werden können. Darüber hinaus ergibt sich in dieser Konstellation der Vorteil, daß sich das Bearbeitungselement 32 je nach Bedarf auch noch nachträglich an das Falzwerk anbringen läßt. Um den Abstand zwischen den Messerwellen des zweiten nachgelagerten Messerwellenpaares 36, 38 einstellen zu können, kann eine zusätzliche nachträglich, einzubauenden Walzenspalteinstellvorrichtung (nicht gezeigt) vorgesehen werden.In a further embodiment, the folding unit according to the invention is shown in side view in Fig. 4. Das Bearbeitungselement 42 weist zwei nachgelagerte Messerwellen 36 und 38 auf, die, wie in den vorhergehenden Beispielen bereits beschrieben, die Variabilität des Falzwerkes deutlich steigern. In der Seitenwand des Bearbeitungselementes 42 ist weiterhin eine Ausnehmung 46 vorgesehen, in welche wiederum ein weiteres Bearbeitungselement 20, bevorzugt schwenkbar eingebracht werden kann. Ein solches modular aufgebautes erfindungsgemäßes Falzwerk kann den jeweiligen Bedürfnissen optimal angepaßt werden, da es im Prinzip möglich ist, eine beliebige Anzahl von Bearbeitungsstationen 42 nacheinander vorzusehen, von denen jede ein nachgelagertes Messerwellenpaar 36, 38 trägt. In Hinblick auf den Antrieb ist das Messerwellenpaar 54 an denselben Antrieb 56 gekoppelt wie die Falzwalzen 52a - 52j, die üblicherweise über einen Zahnräderzug verbunden sind. Erfindungsgemäß wird die Getriebeplatte 48 nun so ausgeführt, dass die in den Seitenwänden modular und/oder schwenkbar vorgesehenen Messerwellen 16 und 18 sowie die schwenkbar angeordnete Ausführwalze 26 außerhalb der Getriebeplatte 48 angeordnet sind. Der Antrieb für die außerhalb der Getriebeplatte liegenden Wellen und Walzen kann mit einem Bänder-, Ketten- oder Zahnriemenantrieb erfolgen, der ein Kopplungselement 60, insbesondere ein Kopplungszahnrad beispielsweise in Richtung des angegebenen Pfades direkt antreibt. Das Kopplungszahnrad 60 steht dabei unmittelbar in Wirkverbindung mit einem Antriebszahnrad für die Messerwelle 18, das seinerseits wiederum die übrigen Zahnräder der Walzen und Wellen des Moduls antreiben kann. Damit ist gewährleistet, dass die Messerwellen 54, 16 und 18 synchron zueinander angetrieben werden. Außerdem wird durch diese Konstruktion ermöglicht, dass die Vorteile der Verwendung einer Getriebeplatte, auch bei der erfindungsgemäßen modularen Bauweise Verwendung finden können. Den synchronen bzw. aufeinander abgestimmten Antrieb der Walzen im Grundteil des Falzwerkes und der Walzen im Modul- bzw. Schwenkteil des Falzwerkes kann man allerdings auch dadurch erzielen, dass jeweils eigene Antriebe vorgesehen werden, die über eine Steuereinheit miteinander gekoppelt bzw. aufeinander abgestimmt werden. So kann beispielsweise für den Antrieb des Messerwellenpaares 54 und der Falzwalzen 52a-52j ein eigener Antrieb verwendet werden, während die Messerwellen 16, 18 und die schwenkbare Ausführwalze 26 zusammen oder jede für sich von einem eigenen Antrieb angetrieben wird, der dann bevorzugt als steuerbarer Servomotor ausgeführt ist. Claims (13)

  1. Device for folding sheets by means of a folding roller arrangement supported in side walls and for further acting on the folded sheets by means of shaft arrangements that can partly be equipped with tools for scoring or perforating or cutting or the like and are partly used for transporting the created products in a processing direction,
    characterized by
    a modular structure of the device in such a way that the folding roller arrangement and a following first one of the shaft arrangements (16, 18) that can be equipped with the tools form a folding unit (10) at the exit of which discrete processing stations (20, 32) having individual processing elements (26, 36, 38, 40) for further acting on the sheets are connectible via recesses (15, 17) in the side walls (12, 14) of the folding unit (10).
