Abstract
Description
The invention is in the field of general cargo conveyance and relates to a method and a device according to the preambles of the corresponding independent Claims. The method and the device serve to divide one Flow in which a large number of the same or at least similar objects (General cargo) are conveyed serially, in a variety of different ways Flow away. The conveying path of the flow stream branches at the distribution point into a plurality of pathways and the objects optionally directed to one of the conveying paths and in turn on this in turn promoted away.
In print product processing, which is an application example for general cargo conveyance represents, for example, flows from loose on a conveyor support (e.g. conveyor belt) there are conveyed printed products, whereby the printed products usually overlap each other (scale flows), or they can consist of printed products, individually or in small groups held by a gripper, for example, can be conveyed hanging one behind the other. The grippers used are on a conveyor (e.g. conveyor chain) mounted or they are more or less independent of each other along one Rail track movable, with independent grippers by appropriate Drives are driven, for example, in an abutting manner.
For the distribution of printed product flows in the form of scale flows usually used switch-like devices. Such devices are arranged at the distribution point and have one between the conveyor support the feed and the plurality of conveying supports of the routings pivotable or otherwise movable conveyor support, which optionally the Funding requirement of the supply with one or the other funding requirement of the away funding connects. Because the printed products in the stream of shingles are mutually exclusive overlap, are in addition to the mentioned, pivotable conveyor support To provide means for separating the stream of shingles, with which means the Overlap of the products is lifted locally for each change of the switch. An example of a scale switch is described, for example, in Swiss patent application 1999 1161/99 (F511).
For the distribution of printed product flows in which the printed products are separated or in small groups of grippers of a conveyor system mounted on a conveyor element are supported, printed products are optionally sent to others Conveyor systems, for example grippers also mounted on conveyors exhibit, hand over and thus directed to a selected route. Transfer points to several conveyor systems are usually one behind the other arranged along the feed line, so that such an arrangement with is associated with a considerable amount of space.
In conveyor systems in which printed products are conveyed by grippers and the grippers can be moved independently of one another along a rail track are places for the flow distribution usually as rail junctions designed and control means are provided for such positions that the Grippers that can be moved along the rails from the feed rail to the desired one Guide away rail. In a conveyor system that has one or more has such distribution points, it must be ensured with suitable means that that the grippers, which are directed to the different conveying paths, on the corresponding ones Return routes, which in turn switch or junction points must have returned to a common starting point become. Such conveyor systems are described for example in the publications WO-98/03420 (F434) and WO-98/03419 (F436), a switch for such System in publication WO-99/33720 (F481).
There are also mixed forms of the known devices briefly described above known for the distribution of general cargo flows.
The object of the invention is now a method and a device create with which a general cargo flow in which objects are fed serially can be divided into a plurality of discharge flows, in from which the objects are in turn conveyed away serially. The division should in this case, for example, according to a predetermined division sequence or according to sensory States can be controlled further downstream or upstream or it should expire after a regular division cycle. At least that Promotion away should be a held promotion, in which the items individually or transported in small groups, each held by a holding device. The device according to the invention should be simple and as universally applicable as possible and in particular be very space-saving.
This object is achieved by the method and the device for division a general cargo flow, as defined by the claims.
According to the method according to the invention, objects become a serial division point promoted and in the distribution center for a takeover by each a holding means positioned. For every supplied object or for every small one Group of supplied objects also becomes a holding means for the distribution point conveyed which holding means to that one conveying system A plurality of conveying systems that define a conveying path belongs to from which the item or group of items is to be carried away. By the dividing point is thus funded essentially by holding means, that belong to different transport systems. The holding means are for release the funding from the distribution center either from buffers, which Buffers also belong to different conveyor systems, and each of the holding means grabs one of the positioned objects (or Item group) to it along the path of its path to convey away from the distribution point.
The objects can be fed from one another at regular intervals be, with a feed flow at substantially uniform intervals can also have gaps, or with irregular distances from each other. Each According to the, a holding device from the buffer is one of the different for each funding cycle To discharge conveyor systems or either a holding device or no holding device (Gap) or the holding means are to be released from the buffers as required.
The device according to the invention has means for the serial feeding of objects to a distribution point on and at the distribution point means for Position the items or item groups for takeover by one holding device each. Furthermore, the device has a plurality of conveying systems on, each of the conveyor systems advantageously a self-contained Rail track and a plurality of in a conveying direction along of the rail track has movable holding means. The rail tracks of all means of transport advantageously converge or run to the splitting point parallel, run parallel to each other and as close as possible through the Distribution point and diverge after the distribution point. As immediately as possible in front of the distribution point, each removal system has means for buffering Holding means on and means for the controlled release of holding means from the Buffer. Furthermore, each removal system has means for the controlled promotion of Holding means by the distribution point and means for activating holding means in the distribution point for the detection of an object. So that the holding means each conveying system can be buffered and controlled from the buffer the holding means independently of one another along the rail track of the conveying system movable or they are connected to each other by flexible means, such that the distances between adjacent holding means can be varied.
The device according to the invention also has control means which are used to coordinate the retrieval of the holding means from the buffers in such a way that the through the distribution site-sponsored serial stream of retention means a sequence of retention means of the various conveying systems that a desired Distribution sequence of the objects supplied corresponds.
As there is only one holding device from one of the removal systems for each item removal triggered and promoted by the distribution center, form the holding means conveyed by the distribution point a serial stream in which the Retaining means easily overlapping or identical to each other Funding channels can be funded. In other words, the rail tracks The conveyor systems can be kept at minimal distances from each other run through the distribution point, with the serial release of the holding means from the various buffers in funding from the distribution center unwanted collisions of holding means and unwanted simultaneous interactions can be prevented by several holding devices with one object.
The holding means are spaced apart in the serial holding means flow through the distribution point from each other, based on the distances between the supplied objects are coordinated, i.e. regularly or irregularly (also regularly with Gaps).
The rail tracks of the conveyor systems advantageously run as close as possible side by side through the distribution point, such that when the takeover of the objects, the positions of the holding means of different conveying systems relative to the position of the objects to be picked up as little as possible from each other are different. In cases where it is necessary that all items regardless of the way in which they are to be carried away by the holding means can be taken in the same area, depending on the distribution point of which of the conveying systems take over an object should, a rail track, a holding means relative to its rail track, which too receiving object, the conveyor system or parts of the conveyor system across to the general direction of conveyance, or the holding means of the different Conveyor systems can be designed differently, such that their relative position to their rail track is different.

Figure 1 illustrates the principle of operation of the inventive method and the inventive device. An
The rail tracks 5.1 to 5.3 extend through the division point, for example in the paper plane of Figure 1 while the objects being fed 3 are behind or below this level and come from the left Approach until they are held by the holding means 6.1 to 6.3, which differ from the level of the Rail sections 5.1 to 5.3 extend against the edge areas, are gripped can.

In front of the
It can also be seen from FIG. 1 that the retaining means have the same configuration
6.1, 6.2 and 6.3 of all removal systems the

This can be seen even more clearly from FIG. 2 , which shows the arrangement according to FIG. 1 in a schematic 3D representation with a viewing direction essentially parallel to the conveying paths 4.1 to 4.3 running through the

den Figuren 1 und 2.So that the objects can be moved along different rail tracks

mittlere Position (ausgezogen dargestellt) geführt (Pfeil A.3), unabhängig davon,

Gegenstand 3 in demselben, vorgegebenen Haltebereich (beispielsweise
FIG. 5 shows a

FIG. 6 shows a

3.2 (ausgezogen) oder 3.3 (strichpunktiert) verschoben (Pfeile A.5).

It is also quite conceivable that in a device for dividing a general cargo flow a plurality of feed means is provided. erfindungsgemässen Vorrichtung gemäss Figur 8 anwendbar.

Conveying systems, as shown in Figure 8 as a conveyor system and in Figure 9 as Details are described in the publication WO-99/33731 (F475).
FIGS. 10 and 11 show, as a view (FIG. 10) and from a bird's eye view (FIG. 11), an exemplary application of a device according to the invention, as is shown, for example, in FIG. The device has at least two removal systems, each with a self-contained rail track 5.1 and 5.2. It is used to feed partial products to a collating
For a device as shown in Figures 10 and 11, it is not in any Way, a requirement that the two gathering devices with the same Power operated or that both collators are active are. The performance of the collators are completely different decoupled, the feed rate must be adjusted to the total consumption on average, is largely thanks to the buffering of the products to be supplied Services of the collating devices decoupled.
In a similar manner as shown in Figures 10 and 11, the inventive Device also for essentially feeding products to others processing stations operated in parallel can be used.
