Description

The invention relates to a multi-pole electrical connection connector, in particular a connection connector for a light strip.

Under a light strip or even luminous field is understood to be a combination of multiple lighting elements via a common supply line. For electrical supply of the individual lighting elements, the lighting elements are usually connected via a connection or branch line to the supply line. The connection cable is connected to the supply line via the multipolar connection connector. The connection connector, which can also be referred to as a connection distributor, is usually arranged in the immediate vicinity of the luminaire element and connects two line sections of the supply line to one another. However, the terminal connector is not limited to use for a lighting band. It is generally suitable for connecting electrical devices to a supply line, in particular in a house installation system.

A lighting strip with an electrical connector or plug-in distributor is known from DE 94 14 984 U1. The plug-in distributor described herein is T-shaped in cross-section. The two sides of his transverse leg each have a conductor connection, in the form of a connector pin on the one hand and on the other hand in the form of a socket. The pin and the socket form a connector system, with the help of two line sections of the supply line are connected together. The connector system has in particular system plug, which ensure a faultless and easy connection. The incoming supply line is connected to the plug pins, for example, and the outgoing supply line to the sockets.

The longitudinal leg of the T-shaped plug-in distributor is provided as a branch contact to the connection for the respective lamp element. This branch contact is also designed in particular as a system connector, which allows a simple and fast connection of the lamp element.

In DE 38 02 642 C1 a plug-in distributor is described with a connector system. In this connector system, the pin is connected to the socket via a central part, that is integrally formed. The middle part has a recess in the form of a central bore. Several plug pin and receptacle units are connected by a contact pin passing through their central bores. Thus, for example, the potential applied to a plug pin via an incoming line potential on the other units of pin and socket is transmitted.

The well-known from DE 94 14 984 U1 T-shaped connector is preferably part of a comprehensive connection system for connecting lamp elements. Overall, this connection system is based on the concept of "plug and play", so that a simple and, in particular, very rapid installation is made possible on site during the assembly of the lighting strip. However, this requires that all components of the lighting strip, in particular the individual connection lines of the lighting elements, are compatible with this connection system. However, this does not always have to be the case. Under certain circumstances, the installation of a special lamp element is desired, which is not system compatible. In the simplest embodiment, such lighting elements have no special connector on their connecting cable. Rather, the conductors of the connecting cable must be connected individually, for example via terminal contacts or screw contacts to the supply line.

A connection or connection terminal for electrical devices with conductor terminals designed as terminal contacts is known from EP 0 327 703 B1. This connection or connection terminal is provided for connection, for example of lights, stoves, washing machines or the like. To a supply line.

From US 5,885,109 an electrical adapter for receiving country-specific Nekstecker is shown.

The invention has for its object to provide a safe and flexible connection connector.

The object is achieved according to the invention by a multi-pole electrical connection connector, in particular for a light strip comprising at least two terminal units, each with its own conductor terminals, wherein corresponding conductor terminals of the terminal units are interconnected, and wherein the conductor terminals of a terminal unit to one of the conductor terminals of the other Connection unit have different contacting system.

This connection connector is accordingly designed in the manner of an adapter with two independent connection units, which are conductively connected to one another. The main advantage is that the two connection units have different contacting systems. This allows, for example, in a lighting strip to connect two different connection systems together. This significantly increases the possible use and flexibility of the connection connector.

For safety reasons, a protective mechanism is furthermore provided which forcibly prevents access to at least part of the conductor connections of one connection unit when the conductor connections of the other connection unit corresponding to these conductor connections are occupied, and vice versa. This prevents in particular the plug pins are accessible from the outside in a connector system when the terminal connector is connected to the supply line, but the terminal unit is not used with the connector system. Because due to the connection of the conductor terminals of the two terminal units are in this case the connector pins of the connector system under tension and thus form a source of danger. This is switched off by the protection mechanism.

In a preferred embodiment, one of the terminal units has a connector system as a contacting system. This preferably has system connectors for error-free connection, which are used according to the principle of "plug and play". The other connection unit has as a contacting system, for example, a conventional terminal contact system, which is used to connect lighting elements that have no system plug. Due to the design of the first connection unit with system plugs a fast and safe installation of the supply line is possible. Alternatively, for example, luminaire elements can be connected with any connection cables. Such a connection connector but also allows to switch from a system plug system to a conventional plug-free system, ie a part of the supply line is formed with the plug-in system and another part using a conventional terminal contact system or with another plug-in system.

The protective mechanism thus preferably prevents access to the connector pins of the connector system.

For a safe protective effect and ease of execution of the protective mechanism is designed as pivotable about a pivot axis flap covering either the conductor terminals of the first terminal unit or the second terminal unit.

In a particularly expedient embodiment, the flap has two flap parts which are mechanically fixed to one another on the pivot axis, wherein each of the flap parts in each case serves to cover the conductor connections of one of the connection units.

The protection mechanism thus automatically prevents access to the unused conductor connections. This happens in particular in that the flap of the line which is connected to the one connection unit, pushed away and thereby automatically pivoted onto the covered conductor terminals of the other connection unit.

Preferably, a basic position for the flap is provided in which this is held automatically, in particular by means of spring force. If, for example, the connection connector is mainly used for a connector system, then the flap releases the line connections for the connector system in the basic position, so that the flap does not have to be folded every time during assembly.

Preferably, the flap has two closure positions for the two connection units, between which it is pivotable, wherein the flap is held in that closed position, which occupies each of them. As a result, each of the unneeded conductor connections are securely closed.

In an advantageous embodiment, a sliding door is provided as a protective mechanism as an alternative to the pivotable flap. This sliding door is conveniently guided in a guide of an insulating housing of the connection connector. The slide door is characterized by its particularly simple and robust design, since it is designed only as a one-piece component and by a simple linear displacement, the protective function is realized.

Preferably, the slide door is held securely at least in one of its two end positions by a catch. This prevents inadvertent release of the conductor connections to be covered by the sliding door.

Preferably, an engagement for an actuating tool is provided as unlocking possibility for the latching on the slide door. Since the latching can only be canceled with the aid of an actuating tool, the unlocking can be done only consciously, so not accidentally. The actuating tool is, for example, a simple screwdriver, which is inserted into the preferably executed as a pocket engagement and leads out of the locking position participating in the latching portion of the sliding door.

In a preferred embodiment, at least one part of the conductor connections of at least one of the two connection units has a projecting conductor insertion funnel which serves as an abutment for the sliding flap for forming the latching. The supernatant of the conductor insertion funnel is relative to the sliding door, i. the conductor insertion funnel projects into the sliding path of the sliding door. As a result, the locking is automatically brought about by moving the sliding door in the sliding direction. Conveniently, the latching takes place on the part of those wire connections that are not covered by the slide door.

For a simple electrical connection of the two terminal units to one another, one of the terminal units has connecting elements which are connected to their conductor terminals, wherein the other terminal unit with its conductor terminals is plugged onto these connecting elements. The second connection unit is thus simply plugged onto the first connection unit.

Preferably, the one terminal unit comprises a connector system with plug contacts, which have a plug socket and a connector pin connected to the socket via a middle part as connector leads, wherein the connecting element is fastened with a foot part on the central part, in particular is inserted therein. The connecting element also has a plug-in element designed in particular in the manner of a blade contact, onto which the other connection unit is plugged. This embodiment enables a simple and, in particular, fast connection of the two connection units with one another, because the entire connection system is designed in the manner of a plug-in system.

In a preferred embodiment, the structural unit formed by the two terminal units is held in a mounting opening of a carrier, in particular in the mounting opening of a lamp housing. The connection connector is thus provided for direct arrangement on the respective luminaire element, ie the electrical consumer.

In a preferred embodiment, the terminal units each have a protective conductor terminal, wherein the carrier is connected to the protective conductor terminals via a common protective conductor contact. The connection takes place in particular automatically during assembly by the protective conductor contact is attached to the connection connector and is pressed against the carrier. This allows easy installation.

Preferably, the protective conductor contact in this case has a plug pin and a contact element, wherein the plug pin is inserted into the protective conductor terminal of one of the terminal units, and wherein the contact element contacts the carrier. For a secure contact with the carrier, the contact element is preferably formed sharp-edged, so that during assembly, the contact element cuts through any existing coating layer of the carrier.

For ease of assembly of the connector is conveniently introduced from the interior of the lamp housing forth in the mounting hole. Since the luminaire housing, for example the luminaire housing for the ceiling lighting of an office space, is generally equipped with the individual components from the interior, rapid installation of the connection connector is possible. In particular, it is not necessary to turn the luminaire housing during the Bestükkung with the individual components. Under individual components in this case lighting elements, such as fluorescent tubes, as well as reflector screens and screens or the like understood.

In the figures, like-acting parts are provided with the same reference numerals.

According to FIG. 1, a connection connector 2 comprises a first connection unit 4 and a second connection unit 6, of which only the inner life in the form of a connector system 8 can be seen for better illustration. The connection connector 2 is provided in particular for connecting luminaire elements to a supply line of a luminaire strip. The two connection units 4, 6 form a structural unit and are introduced into a mounting opening 10 of a carrier 12, and in particular latched therein. The first connection unit 4 is above and the second terminal unit 6 is disposed below the carrier 12.

Both the first connection unit 4 and the second connection unit 6 serve to connect a multi-pole line. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, the connection connector 2 is formed for a three-pole line. Each of the two connection units 4, 6 has a number of conductor connections 22, each of which serves to connect a conductor of a line. Mutually corresponding conductor terminals 22 of the two terminal units 4, 6 are electrically connected to one another via a connecting element 23.

On the support 12, a protective mechanism in the form of a pivotable about a pivot axis 16 flap 14 is disposed within the mounting hole 10. The side of the pivot axis 16, a first flap portion 18 and a second flap portion 20 connects, which are mechanically firmly connected to each other. The flap 14 is thus formed in one piece. Seen in cross-section, the flap 14 is stepped with its two flap parts 18, 20. The flap 14 is mounted against a spring element 21, which is formed in the embodiment of FIG. 1 as wound around the pivot axis 16 leg spring.

The connector system 8 of the second terminal unit 6 has plug contacts 24 which each comprise a plug pin 26 on one side and a socket 28 on the opposite side. Both the plug pin 26 and the socket 28 each form a conductor connection 22. The plug pin 26 and the socket 28 extend in the direction of the longitudinal axis 30 of the connection connector 2 and are connected to each other via a central part 32 and form a structural unit.

The plug contacts 24 are each connected via one of the connecting elements 23 with the corresponding conductor terminals 22 of the first terminal unit 4. The first connection unit 4 is preferably attached to the connecting elements 23.

On the flap 14 remote from the rear side 36 of the connection connector 2, a protective conductor contact 38 is led out of the first connection unit 4 and contacts the carrier 12.

The carrier 12 is in particular part of a lamp or lamp housing, and the connection connector 2 is provided in particular for connecting a lamp element. For mounting a light strip, which comprises a plurality of lighting elements, an incoming supply line and an outgoing supply line to the dedicated conductor terminals 22 is connected to the connection connector 2 respectively. In the case of the second terminal unit 6 with the connector system 8, the incoming supply line to the connector pins 26 and the outgoing supply line to the sockets 28 is connected. The plug pins 26 and the sockets 28 are each formed as part of a system plug, which ensures a confusion-free connection. This ensures a fast and safe installation of the supply line.

To the supply line a connecting line of the lamp element is connected by means of the connection connector 2, via which the lamp element is supplied with power. If the connection line has a system plug which fits the connector system 8 of the second connection unit 6, it is connected to the second connection unit 6. For this purpose, for example, an outgoing from the central part 32 branch contact is provided, as is provided, for example, for the well-known from DE 94 14 984 U1 T-shaped connector.

Fig. 3 und 4) der ersten Anschlusseinheit 4. In einfachster Ausführung erfolgt der Anschluss des Leuchtenelements über eine Klemmkontaktierung an der ersten Anschlusseinheit 4.The main advantage of the connection connector 2 are its different contacting systems, namely the connector system 8 of the second connection unit 6 and a further contacting system, for example a Clamping contact system 40 (see Fig. 3 and 4) of the first terminal unit 4. The different contacting 8,40 allow namely advantageously the connection of a connecting line without a plug connector system 8 matching system connector. In the simplest embodiment, the connection of the lamp element takes place via a terminal contact on the first connection unit 4.

In addition to the connection of luminaire elements with different connection systems, it is also possible with the connection connector 2 to change from one connection system to another connection system. Within a light strip can therefore be changed from a connector system to a terminal contact system. This considerably increases the possible use of the connection connector 2. It is therefore very flexible and universally applicable.

Further details and details of the connection connector 2 are explained in more detail below with reference to FIGS 2 to 9.

From the front view of the connection connector 2 according to FIG. 2, it can clearly be seen that the carrier 12 divides the connection connector 2 approximately in its center into the first connection unit 4 and the second connection unit 6. The first terminal unit 4 has at the front side 42 respectively in pairs conductor terminals 22A, 22B, wherein in each case one of the conductor terminals 22A is provided for the connection of an incoming and the other of the conductor terminals 22B for the connection of an outgoing line.

The design of the flap 14 can be seen in particular in the sectional images according to FIGS. 3 and 4, wherein these indicate a section along the longitudinal axis 30 through the connection connector 2. Fig. 3 is a section along the line III-III of FIG. 2 and shows the flap 14 in the position in which it closes the conductor terminals 22, in particular the connector pins 26, the second terminal unit 6. From the Schnittbildem is very good to refer to the multiple kinked design of the flap 14, the two flap parts 18,20 on the Swivel axis 16 are firmly connected. The spring element 21 ensures, in particular, that the flap 14 is held in its respective closed position as soon as a conductor is connected to the first or second terminal unit 4, 6. The flap 14 is preferably held in the upper closed position in a basic setting in which it covers the conductor terminals 22 of the first terminal unit, so that the connector system is accessible.

In the sectional view, the formation of the first connection unit 4 with a clamping contact system 40 can be seen. The respective conductor is guided via a connection socket 44 in a terminal space 46 and held there via a - not apparent here - clamping spring. With the help of acting on the terminal contact pivot lever 48, the conductor can be released again.

The connector system 8 of the second terminal unit 6 is arranged in an insulating housing 50. This has a lower cover plate 52 with locking lugs 54 into which a system plug of a connection or supply line can be latched. In its center, the cover plate 52 has an opening 56 to which, for example, a branch contact for the branch line is connected to a lamp element.

The structure of the plug contacts 24 is best seen in FIGS. 6 and 7. In particular, it can be seen that the middle part 32 has a central bore 68 into which the connecting element 23 is inserted with a foot part 70. At its end opposite the foot part 70, the connecting element 23 has a plug-type element 72 designed in the manner of a blade contact, which is inserted from below at least indirectly into the assigned conductor connection 22 of the first connection unit 4.

From the view on the rear side 36 of the connection connector 2 according to FIG. 5, it can be seen that the first connection unit 4 has clamping points 58 on its rear side for internal wiring of the lamp. The clamping points 58 are available with the accessible at the front 42 conductor terminals 22 in conjunction. The middle conductor terminals 22 of both the first and the second terminal unit 4, 6 are designed as protective conductor terminals 60. The protective conductor terminals 60 are conductively connected via the common protective conductor contact 38 to the carrier 12.

From the fragmentary illustration of the rear side 36 according to FIG. 8 and the perspective view of the protective conductor contact 38 according to FIG. 9 it can be seen that this has a plug pin 62 and a contact element 64. The protective conductor contact 38 is simply inserted with the plug pin 62 into the clamping point 58 of the protective conductor connection 60 of the first connection unit 4. The contact element 64 has two angled side parts 66, which are sharp-edged and possibly cut through a lacquer layer on the carrier 12 for a secure contact.

According to an alternative embodiment of the connection connector 2, a sliding door 80 is provided as a protective mechanism. The slide door 80 is held in a guide 82 perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 30 in a sliding direction 81 slidably. The guide 82 is formed by a recess in the insulating housing 50. The sliding door 80 is arranged on that side of the connection connector 2 on which the plug pins 26 of the second connection unit 6 are arranged. The inner life of the connection connector 2 according to FIGS. 10 and 11 is formed like the inner life of the connection connector 2 according to FIGS. 1 to 5.

The sliding door 80 has at its one end a lever 84 and an engagement 86. The lever 84 is used for easy operation of the sliding door 80. The engagement 86 is formed by a recess in a locking block 88. Slots are provided laterally next to the locking block 88, whereby the locking block 88 in the longitudinal direction 30 has an elastic mobility. With the locking block 88 act in a locking position of the sliding door 80 conductor insertion funnel 92 together, which on the insulating housing 50 of the first terminal unit 4 surrounding the conductor terminals 22 associated insertion 94. The conductor insertion funnels 92 form a projection on the planar side wall 96 of the insulating housing 50 surrounding the insertion openings 94. The conductor insertion funnels 92 are inclined relative to the side wall 96, so that the projection formed by them in the sliding direction 81 passes from the first connection unit 4 to the second connection unit 6 increases. Due to the oblique course, a displacement of the slide door 80 to the second connection unit 6 is easily possible. Once the locking block 88 is pushed over the Leitereinführtrichter 92, the locking block 88 snaps behind the Leitereinführtrichter 92 and forms with these formed as a rear handle latching. To unlock this latching an operating tool, such as a screwdriver, is guided into the engagement 86, and the locking block 88 is bent out of the engaged position, so that the sliding door 80 can be moved toward the first terminal unit 4 again. The dimensions of the sliding door 80 in relation to the Leitereinführtrichtern 92 are chosen such that the latching is formed as soon as the slide door 80 is in its final position in which it completely covers the connector pins 26.

The connection connector 2 is further designed such that it is inserted in the sliding direction 81 with the second connection unit 6 ahead in the carrier 12 (not shown in Figures 10 and 11). For this purpose, on the one hand, the insulating housing 50 is provided with a lying between the two terminal units 4 and 6 in an imaginary parting plane and circumferential stop 98, via which the connection connector 2 is supported on the carrier 12. Furthermore, a retaining spring 100 having a retaining element 102 is laterally provided on the insulating housing 50. The retaining spring 100 is arched away from the connection connector 2 and forms in the final assembly position with the carrier 12 a rear grip, so that the connection connector 2 is securely held in the carrier 12. By the holding element 102 and the stop 98 so a mounting direction is specified. The carrier 12 is preferably a housing wall of a lamp housing. Conveniently, the second terminal unit 6 is arranged in the final assembly position outside of the lamp housing, so that by simple Plug connection several lamps can be connected together. From the interior of the lamp housing ago therefore the first terminal unit 4 is accessible, which serves for example for connecting the light elements mounted in the interior. The luminaire housing is typically designed in the manner of a receptacle, in the interior of which the individual elements, such as luminous elements, reflectors and screens, and the connection connector 2 are arranged.

The holding element 102 has, in addition to the retaining spring 100, a contact part 104 designed as a protective contact. For this purpose, the contact part 104 comprises two outwardly directed and pointed in the sliding direction 81 cutting elements 106. These cut in the assembly of the connector 2 in the carrier 12, and cause with this a secure electrical contact. The contact part 104 is electrically conductively connected to the protective conductor terminals 60. Preferably, on both sides holding elements 102 are provided on the connection connector 2, which are connected to each other and in particular are formed as a one-piece stamped and bent part. The contacting with the protective conductor terminals 60 via the connecting element 23 and the molded-on plug-in element 72, as can be seen for example in Figures 6 and 7. The holding element 102 thus fulfills a dual function. It serves, on the one hand, to fasten the connection connector 2 in the mounting opening 10 of the support 12 (cf., Fig. 1) and, on the other hand, serves to form an electrically conductive connection with the support 12 as a protective contact. In the embodiment of FIG. 1, the latter function is realized by the protective conductor contact 38.
