Description

Un tel dispositif est connu de US-A-4 172 531.The present invention relates to a device for stacking notebooks in the form of a cartridge, of the type comprising a head stacking a vertical sheet of notebooks from top to bottom on a horizontal stacking table, said notebooks coming to rest on the stacking table side by side to form a cartridge of notebooks, the path of vertical supply of the notebooks being defined between a first series of drive belts defining a wall vertical interior and a second set of belts external drive extending opposite the wall vertical inside flush with the top of the notebooks resting on the cartridge stacking table at stacking point level, manual adjustment device or automatic being preferably provided to bring the external straps flush with the notebooks of the cartridge in training according to the dimensions of the notebooks to be stacked. A such a device is known from US-A-4,172,531.

The first series of belts therefore forms a vertical wall inside of the stacking head, up to the stacking table while the second series of belts opposite said wall extends outside the stacking head to flush with the upper end of the notebooks resting on the stacking table at the stacking point. As a result, external belts are in contact with the notebooks resting on the cartridge stacking table at the outlet of the stacking point which ensures good positioning said notebooks in the cartridge. The height of the belts is therefore preferably adjustable according to the height of the notebooks to be stacked.

During stacking, a jam of notebooks may occur, for example due to the presence of discarded notebooks accidentally on the conveyors of the notebooks or again due to improperly folded notebooks or when these stick to each other and slip poorly relative to each other others at the stacking point.

An excess thickness due to the padding of notebooks to the point stacking occurs and this extra thickness can cause deterioration of the stacking material such that an output of the drive belts out of their guides or the breakage of certain mechanical parts.

In order to avoid such deterioration, proposals have been made jam detection devices allowing the detection of an excess thickness at the stacking point and which, in particular, order the cessation of production or the diversion of production to another device stacking when a jam is detected.

These detection devices may include a cell optical excess thickness detection, or external drive belts for notebooks can be mounted on a tilting frame which, during a overthickness, switches and actuates a commanding switch stopping production.

Such devices, if they make it possible to avoid deterioration of the equipment by ordering the shutdown of the operation of the device, do not allow, in consequence, a continuity in the production and a operator must intervene to be able to restart this production to the stacking device.

In addition, it is necessary to determine for each production an authorized thickness and a prohibited thickness corresponding to the detection of a jam and this setting being dependent on the operator, it does not always guarantee good detection of a jam.

In addition, these jam detection devices are relatively slow to respond. So these devices detect an extra thickness at a time when the jam is already workforce, a notebook having, for example, been immobilized since long across the stacking point and causing this extra thickness characteristic of the stuffing. At speed of high production for large thicknesses of notebooks, the jam detection does not occur so fast enough to prevent certain belts from vertical path to exit their guides or to prevent breakage of certain mechanical parts.

In order to overcome this drawback, the present invention has aim of proposing a stacking device of the type mentioned including a device allowing both the rapid jam detection but also allowing to evacuate this jam beyond the stacking point without the production be stopped.

To this end, the subject of the present invention is a device stacking of notebooks in the form of a cartridge, of the type comprising a stacking head with vertical feed path a tablecloth of notebooks from top to bottom on a table horizontal stacking, said notebooks coming to rest on the stacking table side by side so as to form a notebook cartridge, the vertical path of the notebooks being defined between a first series of belts drive defining an interior vertical wall and a second series of external drive belts extending opposite said interior vertical wall up to the top of the notebooks resting on the cartridge stacking table at the stacking point, a manual or automatic adjustment device being, of preferably designed to adjust the height of the belts and bring them flush with the notebooks on the cartridge in training according to the dimensions of the notebooks to stack, characterized in that it comprises a device for detection and evacuation of an accumulation of notebooks or padding of notebooks, comprising means for measuring the scrolling speed of notebooks in the feed path vertical, at least means for comparing this speed measured against a speed value corresponding to the theoretical advancement speed of the notebooks in the stacking device, as well as means arranged for at least partially clear from the vertical path the external drive belts, when detection of a scrolling speed of the notebooks significant of a jam and to bring back said belts to their original position when detecting a scrolling speed corresponding to the forward speed theoretical notebooks.

So when one notebook hangs, the others come in stop behind and gradually stop between interior and exterior belts and notebooks do can no longer slide towards the stacking table. This blockage, or more precisely this accumulation of notebooks located substantially at the stacking point, therefore causes measurable change in frame rate notebooks. Advantageously, measuring the speed and comparison with theoretical speed allow detect a discrepancy between the measured speed and the theoretical speed, which then commands erasure at less partial of the external drive belts of the vertical driveway.

Therefore, the outer belts being erased from the vertical feed path near the stacking point where the accumulation of notebooks takes place, said belts do not block more the advance of the pile of notebooks and we release the accumulation of blocked notebooks, these then being entrained in the cartridge in formation on the table stacking.

As soon as the speed of the notebooks in the driveway vertical is measured and detected according to speed theoretical, we bring back the external drive belts to their initial operating position.

Thus, by erasing the external drive belts, preferably upon detection of a running speed of the notebooks different from the theoretical speed, we left get rid of the accumulation of notebooks that has been found entrainée within the cartridge in formation without it be necessary to stop stacking notebooks and before that an extra thickness due to the stuffing does not really form as in the systems for detection of excess thickness.

Improperly positioned notebooks due to jamming can then be removed later from the cartridge by a operator.

Such a jam detection and removal device of notebooks is simpler to implement since no longer involves a device requiring adjustment such as determining the excess thickness to be detected as a function of the thickness of the notebooks in production. This device allows furthermore rapid detection and correction also fast and simple without stopping production.

In addition, even if the operator forgets to remove a jam at within the cartridge in formation production continues.

Preferably, the means for measuring the speed of scrolling notebooks in the vertical path are constituted by a mechanical sensor associated with a detector inductive. The mechanical sensor can be a mounted wheel free to rotate and kept in contact with the notebooks parading in the vertical path, which we measure rotation speed to measure the running speed of notebooks. Thus, the wheel is preferably a hollowed out wheel symmetrically and the inductive sensor emits a signal electric whose frequency is proportional to the speed wheel rotation. This information regarding the speed measurement is then sent to a unit logic comprising the means of comparison which treat said information by comparing the detected speed to a theoretical speed of scrolling of notebooks in the head stacking. Preferably, the logic unit also includes means for reading information received from means for speed measurement, a memory in which is stored at least the theoretical speed of advancement of the notebooks as well only control means means arranged to erase the outer belts.

According to a first embodiment, the means arranged to at least partially clear from the feed path vertical the external drive belts and the return to their original position, are formed by means of translational drive of the belts external drive along the vertical wall, in spacing of the cartridge in formation during detection of a scrolling speed of the notebooks significant of a accumulation of notebooks or jamming and reconciliation of the cartridge to the bottom of the notebooks when detecting a scrolling speed corresponding to the forward speed theoretical notebooks.

Preferably, the belts are mounted on a support and the drive means in translation of the belts external are constituted by actuating means pneumatic or hydraulic such as cylinders mounted on the stacking head and connected to the belt support for drive it in translation along the wall interior, in spacing and in approximation of the belts of the cartridge being formed on the table stacking.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the means arranged to at least partially erase from the path vertical belts and bring them back to their initial position are formed by means for pivoting drive of the external belts in spacing and approaching the vertical wall interior. Thus, the outer belts are spread by pivoting the vertical feed path during the detection of a significant speed of a risk of jamming which frees the passage to an accumulation of notebooks then are then returned to their original position by reconciliation by pivoting.

The present invention also relates to a device for automatic detection and evacuation of an accumulation of notebooks or padding of notebooks for a device stacking of notebooks in the form of a cartridge, of the type comprising a stacking head with vertical feed path a tablecloth of notebooks from top to bottom on a table horizontal stacking, said notebooks coming to rest on the stacking table side by side so as to form a notebook cartridge, the vertical path of the notebooks being defined between a first series of belts drive defining an interior vertical wall and a second series of external drive belts extending opposite said interior vertical wall up to the top of the notebooks resting on the cartridge stacking table, an adjustment device manual or automatic being preferably provided for adjusting the height of the outer belts and bring them flush with the Cartridge notebooks in training based on dimensions of stackable notebooks, characterized in that includes means for measuring the running speed of notebooks in the vertical path of the device stacking, at least means for comparing this measured speed in relation to a speed value corresponding to the theoretical advancement speed of the water table in said stacking device as well as arranged means to at least partially clear from the feed path vertical the external drive belts, when detection of a scrolling speed of the notebooks significant jamming and reduce said belts to their initial position when detecting a speed of scrolling corresponding to the theoretical forward speed notebooks.

Such a device incorporates all of the characteristics set out above.

  • la figure 1 représente une vue latérale partielle d'un dispositif d'empilage selon l'invention ;
  • The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the drawing in which:
  • Figure 1 shows a partial side view of a stacking device according to the invention;
  • Figures 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e and 2f show the different stages of operation of the device of Figure 1 when a jam occurs.
A stacking device according to the invention comprises a head stacking E with vertical path of the notebooks C on a horizontal stacking table T.

The vertical path of the notebooks C is defined between two sets of drive belts 1, 2 of notebooks C. A first series of belts 1 (shown in dotted line) defines an interior vertical wall in the stacking head E and a second set of belts 2 (shown in dotted lines) is arranged opposite said vertical wall inside towards the outside of the head stacking, notebooks C being guided between the wall vertical interior and drive belts exterior 2.

These external drive belts 2 are mounted on a support and, more precisely, said belts 2 are stretched around a frame 3 extending along the wall vertical inside, the belts 2 being at least guided on guide rollers 4 mounted free to rotate at the lower end of the chassis 3.

Les cahiers C arrivent donc dans le chemin d'amenée vertical guidés vers la table d'empilage T du haut vers le bas entre les courroies intérieures 1 et les courroies extérieures 2 (figure 2a).Notebooks C therefore arrive in the vertical path guided towards the stacking table T from top to bottom between the internal belts 1 and the external belts 2 (Figure 2a).

At the end of said path, notebooks C rest with their back on stacking table T one behind the other so as to form a cartridge.

The end of the chassis 3 carrying the external belts 2 rests above the cartridge of notebooks in formation at stacking point level as shown in the figure 1 and the belts 2 extend along the vertical wall interior flush with the top of the notebooks so that they are in contact with said part top of notebooks C just after the stacking point and thus contribute to the proper implementation of C notebooks under cartridge shape.

The height of the chassis 3 in the stacking head E is adjustable by manual or automatic adjustment device depending on the dimensions of the C notebooks to be stacked on the stacking table T so as to bring the belts external 2 flush with the notebooks of the cartridge in training. This setting is a standard setting.

The stacking head E further comprises a device for detection and removal of a jam of notebooks at the level from the stacking point.

This device includes means for measuring the speed of scrolling of the sheet of notebooks C in the supply path vertical. These measurement means here consist of a mechanical sensor such as a wheel 5 carried by an arm 6 articulated on the chassis 3 using a spring 7 ensuring always a contact of wheel 5 with the sheet of notebooks scrolling and associated with an inductive sensor 8. The wheel 5 free in rotation is driven in rotation by the scroll C notebooks, therefore when the scrolling of notebooks C is disturbed, the speed of rotation of the wheel 5 indicator of the web speed is changed. The wheel 5 is symmetrically hollowed out and the inductive sensor emits an electrical signal, the frequency is proportional to the speed of rotation of the wheel 5 and therefore the running speed of the notebooks, the frequency of the electrical signal emitted by the inductive sensor 8 also being modified when this speed of scroll changes.

Information concerning the speed of rotation of the wheel 5 measured is then sent to comparison means of said speed with the theoretical running speed of notebooks.

When a scrolling speed of the notebooks is detected different from the theoretical speed it reveals a accumulation of notebooks at the stacking point or jam B. indeed, when jamming B occurs, notebooks C are blocked and build up one behind the other and the notebook C in contact with the speed measurement means no longer advance. The accumulation of C notebooks can cause excess thickness incompatible with the path defined between the internal belts 1 and external belts 2 which risk of causing deterioration and in particular release of the belts out of their guides.

Also, as soon as the frame rate is detected as revealing an accumulation of notebooks at the stacking point P or stuffing B by the comparison means (FIG. 2b), associated control means are used to actuate means for at least partial erasure of the supply path vertical of the external belts. These means of erasure are in the example shown constituted by means drive in translation of the external belts 2 in spacing of the latter relative to the stacking table T and the cartridge in formation. That is to say that the means in translation drive away the chassis 3 bearing the belts 2 of the notebooks resting on the stacking table T. The chassis 3 has at least one arm 10 connected to a jack pneumatic or hydraulic 9 mounted in the stacking head E.

Thus, the chassis 3 is driven in translation along the vertical wall of the stacking head E away from the stacking point P (according to arrow A in figure 2c) of such so that notebooks C blocked as a jam B escape the external belts 2 which are raised (Figure 2d) and said notebooks C can be driven by the stacking table T to be evacuated from said point stacking P (Figure 2e).

Once the frame rate is detected again conforms to the theoretical running speed or having reaches a predetermined threshold approaching the speed of theoretical scrolling, we start training again in translation of the chassis 3 to bring it back to its operating position i.e. close to the stacking point P (according to arrow A 'in FIG. 2e) of so that the belts 2 come into contact with the part top of notebooks C just after the stacking point thus contributing to a good stacking.

An operator can then remove the notebooks C from the jam which are in the cartridge (figure 2f).

The invention therefore provides a stacking device provided with a device for detecting and removing a jam from notebooks simply, quickly and efficiently.
