  • These welds are generally of a similar width as the side welds and act to ensure proper location of the opposing closures by closing the closures at the point of the weld, and "crushing" the closure with the ultra-sonic weld, or similar high-energy weld.
  • an ultra-sonic weld or similar high-energy weld, ensures the opposing closures are securely welded together, such that the weld will not break under normal use of the pouch, and also acts to produce a thin weld, which does not adversely affect the visual impact of the pouch. It is important to note that, at this point, the closure, welded into mouth of the pouch, is in the unengaged position, and that the closure has to remain generally unengaged for the remainder of the forming and filling process. Also note that the ultra-sonic weld is designed to extend slightly beyond the width of the fastener for reasons that will become apparent.
  • welds are made from the weld at the closure to the fold in the web, in the same manner as for the standard side weld.
  • the side weld preferably does not extend to the same distance as the original weld, as the closure weld would cause adverse interference with side weld. Therefore, the side weld preferably welds from the fold in the web to immediately below the closure flanges, and acts to interfere with the extension of the closure weld below the flanges. This interference is important to ensure an airtight weld is maintained from the web fold to above the fastener.
  • the guide strip used preferably extends throughout the pouch forming process up to the point the side welds are made, thus aiding with positive location and tracking of the closure and material.
  • the continuous web of formed pouches, with the resealable fastener secured into the mouths of the pouches, is cut down the centre of the weld to form individual pouches sealed at each side, the resealable fastener remaining generally open. Any partial closing of the fastener that may have occurred can be eliminated by a blast of compressed air aimed at the mouth of the pouch.
  • the individual pouches are then filled, subsequent to all formation of the individual pouches, through the mouth of the pouch.
  • the preferred application of the invention is in the production of resealable pouches of tobacco, it is possible to fill the pouches with different products, such as food products.

Claims (12)

  1. Procédé de fabrication de sachets remplis refermables comprenant les étapes consistant à :
    plier sur une partie de sa largeur initiale une longueur de feuille thermoplastique pour produire une feuille pliée présentant une portion de pli s'étendant sur la longueur de la feuille présentant un bord plié, ladite portion de pli s'étend sur une partie de la largeur initiale de la feuille, et une portion sans pli s'étendant de la portion de pli à l'autre bord de la feuille ;
    dans une direction à angles droits au bord plié et à des intervalles réguliers le long du bord plié, souder la portion de pli ensemble pour former des pochettes individuelles d'une taille égale présentant des bords de paroi soudés sur la longueur de la feuille ;
    couper la feuille, sur la largeur de la feuille et le long de la ligne des soudures, pour produire des sachets individuels présentant chacun une ouverture, des bords soudés et une portion de rabat étendue ;
    remplir chaque sachet, à travers son ouverture, du contenu prévu et plier le rabat étendu sur l'ouverture de manière à former le rabat autour du sachet ;
       caractérisé en ce que, au moment de la formation de la portion de pli de la feuille, une attache refermable est placée sur la feuille dans une direction parallèle aux bords de la feuille et dans une position prédéterminée pour se situer directement en dessous des ouvertures des sachets, où l'attache refermable comprend deux bandes de fermeture à inter-engagement dans une position engagée, chaque bande de fermeture de celui-ci comportant une portion de base, et en ce que les portions de base de chacune des deux bandes de fermeture à inter-engagement, pendant que les bandes sont en prise, sont soudées aux surfaces opposées de la feuille respectivement dans la portion de pli et où, après le soudage de l'attache refermable, les bandes de fermeture sont désengagées l'une de l'autre, les bandes de fermeture étant amenées à venir en prise l'une avec l'autre après le remplissage du sachet et avant la formation du rabat étendu sur le sachet.
  2. Procédé selon la revendication 1, où la feuille thermoplastique est une feuille de polyéthylène.
  3. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 ou 2, où la feuille est un laminé d'un matériau thermoplastique avec une ou plusieurs couches d'un matériau thermoplastique similaire ou différent, d'un matériau de feuille métallisée ou plaquée métal ou d'une bande de papier.
  4. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 3, où le soudage est exécuté par un soudage à ultrasons.
  5. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 5, où la base de chacune des bandes de fermeture présente un ou plusieurs rebords.
  6. Procédé selon la revendication 5, où la portion pliée de la feuille est soudée jusqu'à directement en dessous des rebords sur la bande de fermeture.
  7. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 6, où l'attache refermable est refroidie immédiatement à la suite du soudage à la feuille thermoplastique.
  8. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 7, où le rabat étendu de chaque sachet formé individuellement est plié sur le sachet, après le remplissage de celui-ci, à une position entre le sachet rempli et le fond de l'attache.
  9. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 8, où le rabat, après avoir été plié sur l'ouverture du sachet, est plié autour de la base du sachet.
  10. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 9, où les sachets sont remplis de tabac.
  11. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 10, où la feuille thermoplastique est fournie à partir d'une bobine continue.
  12. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 11, où la feuille thermoplastique est pliée de telle sorte que la distance du bord plié à l'ouverture du sachet est égale à la distance de l'ouverture du sachet au bord du rabat étendu.
