- This curvature of the carrier plate causes the cover mat after the Performing the chemical and / or microbiological reactions of which Reaction vessels having plate-shaped body partially lifts off, as soon as a pressure with which the cover plate during the chemical and / or microbiological reaction is pressed against the plate-shaped body, repealed becomes.
- the support plate is made of such a stiff material that the cover mat even in reactions in which a negative pressure in the individual reaction vessels arises, partially lifts off from the plate-shaped body. hereby ensures that no high forces to lift the cover mat are necessary from the plate-shaped body, even if in the individual reaction vessels a negative pressure is generated.
- the support plate resumes its original curvature, the cover mat already solved by a majority of the reaction vessels and only a few Reaction vessels, which are arranged in areas where the curved cover mat rests, held by the existing negative pressure. The result however, the resulting holding force is so low that they are lifted by a Handling device is lifted safely from the plate-shaped body.
- Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the cover mat according to the invention in one perspective view looking towards the underside of the cover mat 1.
- Fig. 2 is a section through the cover mat of Fig. 1 along the line A - A shown.

- a heating and / or cooling element such. a Peltier element be provided for heating and cooling of the reaction vessel 11.
- a cover 12 is arranged, which is provided with a hinge joint 13 is pivotally mounted on the housing 8.
- the lid is formed from a lid body 14 and a lid segment 15.
- the lid segment 15 preferably forms a heating plate, which on a Temperature can be heated slightly above the maximum reaction temperature which is arranged by the arranged in the receiving area 9 heating and / or Cooling element is generated.
- the heating and / or cooling element for example, a Depart temperature profile in the range of 0 ° C to 95 ° C, in which case the lid segment 15 is heated to 100 ° C, for example. This will cause condensation on the Lid segment avoided.
- the lid segment 15 is displaceable in the lid body 14 along its normal arranged. Between the upper surface of the lid segment 15 and the lid main body 14 spring elements 16 are arranged, which cover the segment Press 15 against a stop 17 of the lid body 14.
- the spring elements 16 are, for example, with a spring force of about 20 N in total biased.
- a linear electrochemical motor 19 is arranged in the central region between the lid segment 15 and the lid body 14.
- electrochemical Linear motors are also referred to as electrochemical actuators.
- the electrochemical linear motor corresponds to a pneumatic Element that does not require external compressed air supply, but electrically controlled, with three control states loading, hold and unloading there.
- the electrochemical linear motor 19 is attached at one end to the lid segment 15, while its opposite end 20 is free to move. When pressed of the electrochemical linear motor, that is, when stretched, the electrochemical Linear motor 19 on the lid body 14 from and thereby pushes the Lid segment 15 down in the direction of the receiving area 9 of the housing eighth
- a microtiter plate 10 is inserted, in the reaction vessels 11 mixtures of chemical reagents are included.
- the cover mat 1 On the microtiter plate 10 lies the cover mat 1 according to the invention with its covering layer 2 after pointing down.
- the lid segment 15 is from the electrochemical linear motor 19 pressed down so strong that the cover mat 1 has a planar shape accepts.
- the cover layer 2 is in this case against the edge regions of the upwardly open Reaction vessel 11 is pressed so that each individual reaction vessel 11 is securely sealed becomes. This will cause contamination of the individual reaction mixtures safely avoided by reagents of adjacent reaction vessels 11, even if the reaction mixtures should begin to boil.
- the cover mat 1 Due to the formation of the covering layer 2 and the compensating layer 3 as a composite material the cover mat 1 has sufficient strength so that they themselves when creating a negative pressure in the reaction vessels 11 is not permanently plastic is deformed, but after loosening the cover mat 1 of the microtiter plate 10 returns to its original shape.
- the electrochemical linear motor 19 is discharged, so that he himself contracts and during the execution of the chemical reactions the cover mat 1 applied pressure is reduced. Thereafter, the lid 12 of Thermocycler device 7 is opened. Due to the curvature of the cover mat. 1 the cover mat 1 rises at its upwardly curved area of the microtiter plate 10 off. Since the support plate 4 is formed so stiff that at least one Force of 50 N, preferably more than 80 N to 100 N for surface pressing on the microtiter plate 10 is necessary, it lifts with the appropriate force of from the microtiter plate. As a result, the cover mat 1 also of sample containers 11 are released and lifted, in which a negative pressure has been generated.
- the Cover mat 1 is thus only on the areas of the microtiter plate 10 through held the effect of the negative pressure on which it rests immediately.
- the whole resulting adhesive forces between the cover mat 1 and the microtiter plate 10 are therefore much lower than when the cover mat 1 with their entire Surface would rest on the microtiter plate 10. It has been shown that even if negative pressure is generated in the chemical reactions, the curved ones Cover mat 1 can be lifted from the microtiter plate 10 without this the microtiter plate 10 is lifted with. This makes it possible that the inventive Cover mat 1 can be handled fully automatically, since the Lifting the cover mat 1 of the microtiter plate 10 there is no danger that the microtiter plate is lifted with.
- the covering mat according to the invention can thus be used for closing microtiter plates in devices for automatically performing chemical or biological Procedure can be used.

- the robot arms 27 each have a longitudinal slot 29 introduced, in each case through the longitudinal slots 29 a vertical to the base plate 22 arranged actuating arm 30 extends.
- the actuating arms 30 are each along a longitudinal direction (Y direction) of the robot arms 27 extending Rail (not shown) movable.
- the operating arms are also in vertical direction (Z direction) movable.
- On one of the two control arms 30 is a pipette tip assembly 31 with eight pipette tips and at the other Actuating arm 30 is a fork-shaped gripping device 32 is attached. With the gripping device 32, both microtiter plates and cover mats 1 are included and be offset.
- the gripping device has two gripping arms, respectively inwardly projecting projections, with which the strips 5 of the cover mat. 1 can be underrun.
- Thermocyclervoriquesen 7 are arranged, which with their receiving area 9 and their covers 12 shown in the unfolded state are.
- On the base plate 22 are further a sample holder 33 and two pipetting holders 34 arranged.
- the sample holder 33 and the pipetting holders 34 are substantially identically formed mounts, placed on which microtiter plates can be.
- the mounted on the brackets 33, 34 microtiter plates are aligned with the brackets 33, 34 exactly with respect to the base plate 22, so that the location of the individual vessels formed on the microtiter plates exactly is fixed and they can be controlled by the robot arms exactly.
- the pipetting holders 34 define pipetting stations to which pipetting by means of the pipette tip assembly 31 is executed.
- On the base plate 22 are still a shaft 40 with unused cover mats and a slot 41 for storage provided covering mats 1 is provided.
- the device further comprises a chemical reservoir 42 with a plurality of upwards open containers with various chemicals and a stacking device 43 for recording from several microtiter plates.
- the stacking device 43 is perpendicular formed by the back wall 25 projecting webs 44.
- the individual microtiter plates in the Gripper 32 removed from the sample holder 33 and from the pipetting 34 and inserted into the thermal cycler device 7.
- Thermocycler device 7 located microtiter plate 10 is a cover mat. 1 laid down, which is removed from the pile of unused cover mats. The recording and setting of the cover mats 1 in turn leads the gripping device 32 out.
- the motor-driven cover 12 of the respective Thermocycler device 7 automatically closed and the corresponding Procedure can begin. Is the chemical or biological process finished, Thus, the lid 12 again open automatically, the respective cover mat is received by the gripping device 32 and the stack 41 of the used cover mats stored.
- this device work fully automatically, without this the individual reaction vessels of Hand, for example, by welding with a foil, manually sealed have to.
- the used in the stack 41 deposited cover mats 1 are only removed from time to time and the stack 40 with cleaned cover mats. 1 Mistake.
- the above-described curved cover mats used as they are after carrying out the reactions from the microtiter plates can lift off, even if a negative pressure in individual reagent vessels should arise.
- the cover layer may be made of a different material than Silicone be formed, provided this material to seal the reaction vessels is sufficiently smooth.
- the leveling layer does not have to be made of a plastic foam if it has the necessary flexibility.
- the carrier plate can e.g. made of spring steel or another Elsatician and preferably good thermally conductive Material be formed.
