Abstract

Kabel, und zwar insbesondere Seekabel (10, 11), weisen eine die Kabelseele (12) umgebende Armierung (18, 19) auf, die die Kabelseele (12) insbesondere vor mechanischen Belastungen schützt. Die Armierung (18) ist so dimensioniert, dass sie den mechanischen Beanspruchungen standhält, denen das Seekabel (10, 11) beim Verlegen in größten vorgesehenen Wassertiefen standhält. Eine solche Armierung (18) ist in Gebieten geringerer Wassertiefen überdimensioniert. Das trifft besonders dann zu, wenn das Seekabel eingepflügt wird.
Die Erfindung sieht ein Seekabel (10, 11) und ein Verfahren zur Herstellung desselben vor, wobei bedarfsweise eine entsprechende Anzahl von Armierungsdrähten (25) zur Bildung der Armierung (18) ersetzt ist durch Füllstränge (31). Die Füllstränge (31) sind vorzugsweise aus Kunststoff gebildet. Ein solches Seekabel (10, 11) weist durch die bereichsweise Anordnung der Füllstränge (31) eine individuell an die Belastungen in unterschiedlichen Wassertiefen angepasste Armierung (18) auf, wobei durch den Ersatz einer entsprechenden Anzahl von Armierungsdrähten (25) durch Füllstränge (31) das Seekabel (10, 11) leichter ist und sich preiswerter herstellen lässt.
