Abstract

The cable (10,11) has a core with several conductors surrounded by reinforcement (18,19) or reinforcement sections comprising reinforcement wires. Individual reinforcement wires in the reinforcement or in at least one reinforcement section are at least partly replaced by filling strands (31) of a more extensible or flexible material. Preferably, the filling strands have the same cross-section as the reinforcement wires. An Independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing the cable.
