Definitions

  • the invention relates to a fan hood with a fan ring releasably attached thereto, the Fan hood is releasably attached to the cooler of an internal combustion engine on the one hand and on the other hand carries the fan ring, which surrounds the fan with its fan axis, on the inner circumference corresponding to the opening of the fan hood and on the outer circumference of the fan ring Guides are arranged by rotating or moving the fan ring mesh.
  • the fan hood described is known from DE 35 03 220 C1. It has the advantage that for the purpose of accessibility in the case of repair and maintenance work, the fan cover and the fan ring can be removed without having to remove adjacent parts.
  • the disadvantage is that when the cooling system is installed, the cooler with the fan cover is first inserted, then the fan ring has to be removed and the individual parts must be guided backwards over the fan. If the fan / fan is installed, the fan ring is guided to the front and attached to the fan hood by twisting or moving or by coupling.
  • bayonet-type closures are provided, the openings of the closures being arranged on the fan hood and the pins which slide and lock therein are located on the fan ring.
  • the object of the invention is to at least maintain the advantages of the prior art and to enrich it with additional variants of the design of the fan hood with the fan ring, which further simplify the installation of the cooling system and necessary inspection and maintenance work. This object has been achieved according to the invention by the features in claim 1.
  • the fan ring is from a position in which it is at least predominantly arranged in the space formed between the fan cover and the cooler (installation position or front position) to a position in which the rear edge of the fan ring lies significantly behind the level of the rear edge of the fan cover (operating position or Rear position) and back, in the direction of the fan axis, movable.
  • the terms "rear and front” refer to the installation position in the motor vehicle, the cooler usually being located far forward with a suction arrangement of the fan in order to ensure free access of the cooling air. Everything that is then arranged in the direction of the internal combustion engine is further back. In versions that have the fan in front of the radiator and push the cooling air flow through the radiator (s), "front” becomes “rear” and vice versa.
  • the fan hood according to the invention has the following advantages.
  • the fan ring can be attached to the fan hood before the installation of the cooling system, i.e. the fan hood with the cooler (s), for example in a motor vehicle, which eliminates the risk of an improper fit, which can lead to serious malfunctions.
  • the fan ring is rotated or moved to the installation position. This installation position is in a "dead” room, namely between the fan cover and the cooler. After installing the cooling system, the fan can be installed without hindrance.
  • the fan ring is moved into the operating position, for example to the rear, in which it surrounds the fan.
  • the order of installation is not important, ie the fan could be installed first and then the cooling system.
  • the advantages which can already be achieved with the prior art are retained when the invention is used.
  • the fan hood is removable and can be removed together with the fan ring without having to remove neighboring parts. To do this, the fan ring only has to be turned back into its installation position, for example forward.
  • the accessibility is at least to the same extent.
  • a relief has also been created for certain inspection and maintenance work, for example on the fan, because these activities are not impaired by the loosely hanging fan ring from the prior art.
  • the invention leads to an advantageous reduction in the overall depth, for example in a motor vehicle.
  • the fan ring on the fan hood is rotatable like a screw and that for this purpose, a slope having guides are arranged either on the outer circumference of the fan ring or on the inner circumference of the opening of the fan hood, in each of which a guide pin slides on the opposite of the part where the guides are located.
  • claim 3 provides that the fan ring can be telescopically pulled out into the operating position and that guides extending in the direction of the fan axis are arranged with guide pins on the fan ring and the inner circumference of the opening of the fan cover.
  • Claim 4 describes a preferred position of the installation position, in which the rear edge of the fan ring ends approximately with the rear edge of the fan cover. As a result, the fan ring can be moved further back than in the case in which the rear edge of the fan ring is in the installation position in front of the rear edge of the fan cover.
  • an embodiment can also be selected and advantageous for certain cases, in which the rear edge of the fan ring in the installation position is arranged slightly behind the rear edge of the fan cover. According to the teaching of the invention, however, the fan ring in this position is predominantly arranged in the space between the fan cover and the cooler (s), which means that at least half the depth of the fan ring should be arranged in said space.
  • Claim 5 provides, especially for fan hoods and fan rings with a large diameter, for example for use in trucks, that preferably three pairs of guides and guide pins are evenly distributed on the circumference of the central opening of the fan hood and on the outer circumference of the fan ring. With fan hoods and fan rings of significantly smaller diameters, two such pairs may be sufficient. Claims 6 and 7 indicate different forms of training for the tours.
  • Fan hood and fan ring are preferably made of plastic and are with appropriate Molds can be produced.
  • the fan cover 1 has a central opening 5 which, as usual, is arranged around the fan axis 3 of the fan (not shown).
  • the fan axis 3 is perpendicular to the image plane in FIG. 1.
  • the fan cover 1 is detachably fastened to the water cooler or the cooler unit, for example by screws, the passage openings of which have been given 20. Other embodiments see snap or Rest connections before. In Fig.
  • position 25 has only a hint of a locking hook located on the front V of the fan cover 1.
  • the fan ring 2 is located in the opening 5. From the side view according to FIG. 2, it can best be seen that the fan ring 2 is in the operating position, because the plane of the rear edge 10 of the fan ring 2 lies clearly behind the plane of the rear edge 11 of the fan cover 1. In this operating position, the fan ring 2 comprises the fan. (see also Fig. 5) In order to move the fan ring 2 back into the installation position within the space 9 between the fan cover 1 and the cooler, it is screwed into this space 9 practically like a screw. The direction of movement was indicated by arrows in FIG. 5. It runs in the direction of the fan axis 3.
  • guides 8 are arranged on the circumference 6 of the fan ring 2 and are designed as guide channels 15 by means of two walls 14.
  • the bottom of the guide trough 15 is part of the peripheral wall of the fan ring 2.
  • a guide pin 13 slides in these guide troughs 15 and is arranged on the inner circumference 4 of the opening 5 of the fan hood 1, which can be seen in FIG. 8. 1 and 4 make it clear that three such, designated as pairs, guide channels 15 with guide pins 13 are arranged around the entire circumference, which have been labeled A, B and C.
  • the inner circumference 4 of the opening 5 has been provided with a circumferential extension 21 in order to prevent the guide channel 15 from moving on the pitch circle when the fan ring 2 is screwed back and forth allow.
  • the circumferential extension 21 has covers 22 (FIG. 1) in order to minimize the passage of "false air".
  • the shape of the guide channels 15 can be seen from FIGS. 2, 3, 6 and 7. They consist of a section 16 which has a pitch 17 which can very well be thought of as the section of a thread pitch. This section 16 is followed by a section 18. In this exemplary embodiment, the angle between the two sections 16 and 18 is approximately 45 °. (Fig.
  • the section 18 has tapered extensions 23, which serve the purpose of facilitating the insertion of the guide pin 13 into the guide groove 15 when inserting the fan ring 2 in the fan cover 1. 3, 6 and 7 that 15 knobs 24 have been worked on at the bottom of the guide troughs.
  • the guide pin 13 abuts these knobs 24. They can only be overcome with a certain amount of effort, so that the knobs 24 act as locking elements 7, which prevent the guide pin 13 from slipping out of the guide channel 15 unintentionally, whereby the connection between the fan ring 2 and the fan cover 1 would be broken.
  • the knobs 24 are arranged at the end points of the installation position and the operating position. They also prevent the movement of the fan ring 2 from the installation position into the operating position or vice versa beyond these two positions.
  • connection between the fan ring 2 and the fan cover 1 can be secured by other means, at least in the operating position.
  • the exemplary embodiment according to which the fan ring 2 can be pulled out telescopically from the fan hood 1 was not shown in the drawing.
  • the guide pin 13 slides - viewed only in principle - in a section of the guide trough 15 which is similar to section 18.
  • a section 16 provided with a slope 17 is then not required.
  • the circumferential extension 21 is essentially and the cover 22 completely unnecessary. Additional position safeguards are recommended for this exemplary embodiment.
