Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a packaging for a glass pane having a rectangular outer carton.
  • Such packaging is known from DE 298 19 853.
  • This packaging which has proven itself in principle, is preferably used for the transport of glass panes, in particular domed ones, for example windscreens or rear windows of motor vehicles.
  • the fixing of the glass pane in the outer carton that is to say its securing against movement in any direction, is solved by means of fixing parts and spacers, the fixing parts being arranged in the bottom region of the outer carton, namely lying opposite one another.
  • the spacer engages around the upper edge of the glass pane and fixes it in relation to the fixing parts, the spacer resting on the cover part when the outer carton is closed.
  • the known packaging has proven to be a very good solution in practice with regard to fixing the glass pane in the outer carton.
  • both the fixing parts and the spacer consist of a relatively large number of individual parts which are each connected to one another, predominantly by gluing.
  • both the fixing parts and the spacer contain components that are designed as solid cores, i. H. consist of a large number of corrugated cardboard layers glued together.
  • a package which corresponds to the preamble of claim 1 is known from US Pat. No. 2,663,417.
  • the fixing parts have strips which practically form the support or the support part and are designed such that the glass pane lying in is only cushioned by a small material thickness of the strip.
  • the glass pane to be transported is supported only in the corner area, which results in an unfavorable introduction of force into the glass pane under load in the then very long, unsupported central area.
  • the present invention is therefore based on the object of designing packaging of the generic type in such a way that it can be produced with less material and less work.
  • This constructive design in particular of the fixing parts and the spacers, enables a very simple manufacture, since the strips used are only punched in appropriate areas and the folding must be predetermined by crease lines. These run in predominant circumference transverse to the longitudinal extent of the strip.
  • the support raised against the floor and the support part expediently each consist of a plurality of cardboard parts lying against one another by folding, the respective support part being arranged at a distance from the support.
  • the parallel upward orientation of the support member relative to the side walls forces support so that the support member in it vertical position does not bend in the direction of the support.
  • This support is provided by a support tab which is partially punched out of a connecting plate connecting the support and the support part and which engages in a positive manner in the support part.
  • the positive locking means are also produced by appropriate punchings.
  • the support part rests on three sides of the outer carton, the support is supported on two opposite sides of the outer carton. Its disc holder is also achieved by punching out the cardboard strip.
  • the cardboard is shaped as corrugated cardboard in such a way that there are corrugated or partially crisscrossed corrugations, double-sided or double-corrugated corrugated cardboard being used.
  • each spacer in two parts and to connect the two separate parts to one another in the region of their connecting strip by gluing these connecting strips together.
  • This production is particularly advisable if the packaging is used for the transport of windshields or rear windows, which are appropriately large. Otherwise, the cardboard strip from which each spacer is made in one piece would have to be so long before processing that practical handling is almost impossible.
  • the spacers rest on the associated side walls of the outer carton, the width of the cardboard strip from which the spacers are formed, as well as the width of the cardboard strip from which the fixing parts are made, corresponding to the inside width of the outer carton.
  • the outer carton is designed as two hoods which can be plugged into one another, the respective opening of which is formed by a long narrow side, so that the glass pane to be inserted can be packed upright lengthways.
  • This two-part, hood-like design in which the upper part is pushed onto the lower part, makes it possible, on the one hand, to pack glass panes of different sizes, at least in height, with a cardboard box, and on the other hand to ensure that the glass pane is firmly between the fixing parts and the spacers is clamped because the upper part of the outer carton rests on the upper spacers of the spacers, as a result of which a clamping pressure can be applied which securely locks the glass pane.
  • FIG. 1 shows a packaging for a glass pane 4, which has an outer carton 1, which consists of an upper part 2 and a lower part 3, both of which are hood-shaped, the upper part 2 being placed on the lower part 3 and partially enclosing it ,
  • an outer carton 1 which consists of an upper part 2 and a lower part 3, both of which are hood-shaped, the upper part 2 being placed on the lower part 3 and partially enclosing it
  • two fixing parts 5 are arranged on the opposite sides, each consisting of a support 8 and a support part 7, the support 8 resting on the bottom of the lower part 3 and on the opposite broad sides, while the respective Support part 7 is supported on the narrow side of the lower part 3.
  • a support tab 15 is provided which engages in the support part 7 in a form-fitting manner and is punched out of a connecting plate 12 which establishes the connection between the support 8 and the support part 7 (FIG. 2).
  • spacers 6 are provided, which lock the glass pane 4 standing in the outer carton 1 in the region of its upper edge.
  • Each spacer 6 has two spacers 9, 10 which are connected to one another by a connecting strip 11.
  • the spacers 9 hold the glass pane 4 laterally, the spacers 10 lie on the upper side of the glass pane 4, with a support pad 30 being fixed in each spacer 10, on which the upper edge of the glass pane 4 is supported.
  • FIGS. 2 and 3 The structure of a fixing part can be clearly seen in FIGS. 2 and 3 in conjunction with FIG. 7.
  • the fixing part 5 consists of a one-piece, folded cardboard strip which has stamped and foldable support tabs 14, supports 14a, 14b, securing tongues 16 and the support tab 15.
  • the support tabs 14 have laterally extending projections 14d, which enable a positive connection of the support tabs 14, so that the support 8 is essentially formed by a stable box.
  • the stability of the support for the glass pane 4 is further increased by the supports 14a, 14b, which lie on top of one another as well as the support tabs 14, which also rest on the supports 14a, 14b, these engaging in latching openings 14c on the end face, so that a more secure Hold is guaranteed.
  • a displacement of the folded cardboard parts of the support 8 in the direction of the connecting plate 12 is prevented by securing tongues 16, which are trapezoidal in their outline and are slightly bent upwards.
  • the cardboard part of the support 8 resting on the connecting plate 12 is thus secured against displacement.
  • the support part 7 also consists of a folded cardboard part, which is kept relatively narrow compared to the support 8.
  • the folded cardboard parts are locked on the one hand by the interaction of locking tongues 17 with locking tongues 18 or locking tongues 20 with locking slots 21 and on the other hand by the support tab 15, which engages in a form-fitting manner in a plug-in opening 19 of the support part 7.
  • the support tab 15 is slightly wider than the rear grip opening of the insertion opening 19, which ensures a secure hold by friction.
  • FIGS. 4, 5 and 6 show one of the two spacers 6 or a part thereof (FIG. 4).
  • it consists of two separate parts, each having a spacer 9, 10 and a connecting strip 11 and which, in the use position, that is to say folded, are glued to one another in the region of their connecting strips 11.
  • These are provided with slots 25 extending in the longitudinal axis direction, which are made to coincide with one another when glued and which are penetrated by the corner region of the glass pane, since the spacer 9 lies laterally on the glass pane 4 and the spacer 10 on the upper edge.
  • Each spacer 9, 10 has as a support for the glass pane 4 superimposed support tabs 24 as well as supports 27, 28 thereon, the support tabs 24, which form the base of a pane receptacle 22, being secured against axial displacement, for which purpose they are arranged laterally extending projections are provided which engage behind the shaped spacer on the outside.
  • the superimposed supports 27, 28, on the other hand, are inserted at the end into locking openings 29, so that their parallel position to the support tabs 24 is locked.
  • each spacer 9, 10 also has securing tongues 23 by means of which the respective spacer 9 is locked to the connecting strip 11.
  • the lateral spacer 9 has a tab-shaped kink lock 26, which bears at an angle on the connecting strip 11 and by which the connecting strip 11 is prevented from buckling prematurely. It therefore forms a stabilization for this.
  • each spacer 9, 10 with connected connecting strip 11 is in each case formed from a one-piece, folded, multilayer cardboard strip and glued to one another in the region of its respective connecting strip 11. This is useful in the case when the distance between the two spacers 9, 10 is relatively large due to the dimension of the glass pane 4 and a one-piece cut would not be manageable or could only be handled with great difficulty. However, if smaller glass panes are used, there is of course the possibility of integrally forming each spacer 6, ie both spacers 9, 10, with the common connecting strip 11.
  • the high stability of the parts carrying the glass pane results from the respective multilayer arrangement of the cardboard strip used, which preferably consists of a double-sided or double-corrugated corrugated cardboard. This applies equally to the support parts 7.
  • the arrangement of the corrugated cardboard parts increases the stability in the sense that waves standing in the direction of the load and partially laid crosswise determine the characteristic.
