Abstract

The document holder (1), consists of two flat panels (2, 5) of a rigid or semi-rigid plastic material connected by a supple strip (16) which acts as a spine and hinge for the cover panels. The strip can be made from a woven material or from one with a thickness making it supple, and it is connected to the panels by ultrasound welding. The documents can be held in supple sleeves (27, 28) in pairs which are also welded to the spine by intermediate zones.

Description

L'invention concerne un protège-documents.The invention relates to a document guard.

The invention applies to document protectors of the rigid or semi-rigid type, that is to say comprising a first flat element made of a rigid or semi-rigid material, forming the first and second cover of the document protector, and a second flat element made of a rigid or semi-rigid material, forming third and fourth cover of the document guard.

Many types of rigid or semi-rigid document guards are known, such as those described in the documents FR-2 756 771 and FR-2 766 758 in the name of the applicant.

Such document protectors are generally made from a plate of a semi-rigid material, which has two lines of weakness to fold the plate to form two parts of covers connected by a hinge around which they are articulated , this hinge forming the back of the document guard.

Pouches may be associated with this plate, for example by ultrasonic welding on one of the faces of the hinge, along a welding line forming a binding.

These document protectors have a number of disadvantages.

The weakening lines which separate the cover parts of the back of the document cover are made by reducing the thickness of the material in which the plate mentioned above is made.

These weakening lines are such that their thickness is certainly low enough to allow the folding and articulation of the cover parts around the back, but sufficiently important to allow repeated use of the document cover without the successive openings and closures do not cause tearing lines of weakness.

Thus, to increase the life of the document cover, the stiffness of the joint between the cover parts and the back must be increased, which is generally achieved by increasing the thickness of the lines of weakness.

This results in a lack of flexibility of the document holder, the latter having a tendency to close when not held firmly in the open position.

It is therefore impossible to consult its content by holding the document cover with one hand, or by placing it in an open position on a support such as a table, except to ruin the lines of weakness as and when successive openings and closures of the document guard.

Protective documents are also known made from two sheets of plastic material between which are inserted two rigid or semi-rigid plates, forming cover parts, the edges of the sheets being welded together, to trap the plates.

These plates are separated by an area of smaller thickness which by its flexibility allows the non-elastic opening of the document cover, the cover parts can form any angle.

This type of document protector has a number of disadvantages.

On the one hand, its manufacturing method, which includes many steps of welding and gluing, is complex and requires the implementation of heavy machinery, bulky and complex.

Thus, because of its cost, this type of document cover is reserved for small or medium production runs, and is intended exclusively for a small and luxurious market.

On the other hand, the area of lesser thickness is too small to guarantee the document guard a sufficient life. It happens that this area tears under the effect of a sudden manipulation of the cover parts.

However, increasing the thickness of this area of reduced thickness is to create a document cover of the type previously described, and the disadvantages have already been mentioned.

On connaît en outre de nombreux protège-documents entièrement souples.In addition, many fully flexible document guards are known.

Due to the flexibility of the cover parts, the documents inserted in the document holder can undergo irreversible deformations such as accidental folding, which the rigid or semi-rigid document guards make it possible to avoid.

This type of document protector is outside the scope of the invention, although it is cited for documentary purposes.

Also known from US 5 370 422 a greeting card comprising two distinct parts, the first part comprising two opposite faces respectively forming first and second cover of the card, and the second part comprising two opposite faces forming respectively third and fourth cover of the map.

The first part and the second part each have a connecting edge, the two connecting edges being slightly separated from each other. The two parts are associated in the vicinity of their connecting edges by an adhesive bonding means, of a thickness smaller than the thickness of the first and second parts.

  • de bonnes propriété de rigidité afin de protéger efficacement les documents contre les agressions extérieures, notamment les déformations par pliage ;
  • de bonnes propriétés de souplesse, localisées, afin de faciliter son ouverture et sa fermeture en évitant que les parties de couverture ne se referment intempestivement ;
The invention aims to solve the aforementioned drawbacks in particular, by proposing a document holder which presents at the same time:
  • good rigidity properties to effectively protect documents against external aggression, including bending deformations;
  • good flexibility properties, localized, to facilitate its opening and closing by avoiding that the cover parts are closing unexpectedly;
  • a simple structure to be easy to produce, so that it can be mass produced for mass marketing.

  • un premier élément plat réalisé dans un matériau rigide ou semi-rigide et comprenant deux faces opposées formant respectivement première et deuxième de couverture du protège-documents ;
  • un second élément plat réalisé dans un matériau rigide ou semi-rigide et comprenant deux faces opposées formant respectivement troisième et quatrième de couverture du protège-documents ;
  • et une pluralité de pochettes souples destinées à recevoir des documents ;

For this purpose, an object of the invention is a document protector comprising:
  • a first flat element made of a rigid or semi-rigid material and comprising two opposite faces respectively forming first and second cover of the document cover;
  • a second flat element made of a rigid or semi-rigid material and comprising two opposite faces forming respectively third and fourth cover of the document cover;
  • and a plurality of flexible pockets for receiving documents;

the flat elements comprising two edges, said connecting, substantially parallel, the flat elements being interconnected by a flexible element forming a hinge of the document holder, associated with the flat elements along their connecting edges, said flexible pockets being associated with said flexible element.

Thus produced, the document holder makes it possible on the one hand to ensure effective protection of documents against external constraints such as folding, and on the other hand to facilitate its handling thanks to the flexible element.

Indeed, the flexible element allows easy opening and closing, which avoids firmly hold the flat elements in a desired position without they resume a rest position in which it is impossible to consult the documents inserted into the shin documents.

According to one embodiment, the flexible element is made in the form of a band.

For example, the flexible member is made from a woven material, which may include inorganic fibers such as polypropylene fibers.

According to one variant, the flexible element is made from a material whose thickness gives it flexibility properties.

In addition, the flat elements and said flexible element may be made of the same material, for example polypropylene.

According to one embodiment, the flexible element is associated with said flat elements by ultrasonic welding.

Moreover, the pouches can be associated with said flexible element by ultrasonic welding.

According to one embodiment, the document holder comprises a pair of pouches formed from a folded and welded plastic sheet, the pair of pouch having an intermediate zone separating the two pouches, this intermediate zone being associated with said flexible element. by ultrasonic welding along a welding line forming a binding of the document guard.

For example, the document holder comprises a plurality of such superimposed pairs of pouches associated with each other and with said flexible member by ultrasonic welding of their respective intermediate areas along a common welding line, forming a binding of the document guard.

In addition, the first and / or the second flat element may comprise a pocket intended to receive a document, associated with said flat element by gluing, welding, or the like.

The upper edges 12, 13 and lower 14, 15 extend in a transverse direction T shown in the figures, substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction L.

To form the document guard 1, the flat elements 2, 5 are interconnected by a flexible element 16 forming a hinge of the document guard 1.

According to an embodiment illustrated in the figures, the flexible element 16 is made in the form of an elongated strip of substantially rectangular, which comprises two longitudinal edges 17, 18 substantially parallel.

The flexible element 16 also comprises two respectively upper 19 and lower 20 edges substantially parallel to each other and perpendicular to the longitudinal edges 17, 18.

For example, the flexible member 16 is made from a woven material, which may include inorganic fibers such as polypropylene, nylon, or the like.

According to one embodiment, the element 16 is a polypropylene fiber fabric or braid, which has both strength qualities and flexibility qualities.

According to one variant, the flexible element 16 is made from a material whose thickness gives the flexible element 16 flexibility properties. For example, the flexible member 16 is a plastic sheet: PVC, polypropylene, or the like.

According to another variant, intended for luxury embodiments, the flexible element 16 is a leather band.

The flexible element 16 is associated with the flat elements 2, 5 along their connecting edges 10, 11.

The transverse dimension or width of the flexible element 16, when it is flat, that is to say the distance separating its two longitudinal edges, defines the thickness of the document cover when it is in position closed, that is to say when its flat elements 2, 5 are arranged opposite one another.

To achieve the combination of the flexible element 16 to the flat elements, one can proceed as follows.

The flat elements 2, 5 are arranged side by side, their connecting edges 10, 11 being substantially parallel and defining between them a gap 21 whose transverse dimension, equal to the distance separating the connecting edges 10, 11, is substantially smaller. to the width of the flexible element 16.

The gap 21 is covered with the flexible element such that, close to its longitudinal edges, it overlaps the flat elements 2, 5, close to their connecting edges 10, 11.

The portions of the flexible member 16 and overlapping flat members 2, 5 define two substantially rectangular, longitudinally extended overlap zones 22, 23.

The flexible element 16 is associated with the flat elements 2, 5, by fastening thereto along the two overlapping zones, by sewing, gluing, welding, or the like.

According to an embodiment illustrated in the figures, the flexible element 16 is associated with the flat elements 2, 5 by ultrasonic welding along the overlap zones 22, 23, and more precisely along two longitudinal weld lines 24, 25 .

The weld lines 24, 25 comprise a plurality of longitudinally aligned weld points 26.

The realization of the flat elements 2, 5 and the flexible element 16 in the same material, facilitates the welding. In this case, the use of polypropylene makes it possible to perform an ultrasonic welding easy, reliable, which ensures a durable attachment of the elements 2, 5, 16 between them.

According to an embodiment illustrated in Figures 4, 5, 6, the document holder may further comprise a plurality of flexible pouches 27, intended to receive documents such as sheets of paper, which are for example inserted into the pockets 27.

These flexible pouches 27, already known in the prior art, can be made of plastic material such as PVC, polyethylene, polypropylene, or the like.

These pouches 27 are disposed inside the document holder 1, and associated with the flexible element 16, for example by ultrasonic welding.

According to an embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 4, 5, 6, the pouches 27 are assembled in pairs 28.

For example, each pair of pouches 28 is formed from a plastics sheet 29 folded and welded along longitudinal and transverse edges 31 shown in FIG. 4 by dashed lines.

The pocket pair 28 has an intermediate zone 32 extending longitudinally, separating two pockets 27 formed during the welding of the longitudinal and transverse edges 31.

The pair of pouches is disposed inside the document holder 1 so that the pouches 27 substantially cover the second cover 4 and the third cover 6, the intermediate area 32 being disposed in the gap 21, covering substantially the flexible element 16.

La zone intermédiaire est associée à l'élément souple 16, par exemple par soudage ultrasons le long d'une ligne de soudage 33 étendue longitudinalement le long de l'élément souple 16, et formant reliure du protège-documents 1.The intermediate zone is associated with the flexible element 16, for example by ultrasonic welding along a welding line 33 extended longitudinally along the flexible element 16, and forming a binding of the document protector 1.

Just like the welding lines 24, 25 already described above, the welding line 33 may comprise a plurality of longitudinally aligned weld points 34.

The document liner 1 may comprise a plurality of such pairs of pouches 28 superimposed on the inside of the document liner 1, so that their respective intermediate zones 32 are superimposed and arranged facing the flexible element 16.

The combination of the pairs of pouches 28 to the flexible element can be achieved by compressing all the intermediate zones 32 in the gap 21 between the flat elements, and by welding them together by ultrasound to the flexible element 16, the along a common welding line 33, longitudinally extended and comprising a plurality of soldering points 34.

The use of the same material for the pouches 26 and the flexible element 26, such as polypropylene, facilitates the association, in this case ultrasonic welding.

Thus produced, the document holder 1 has a robustness that does not present known document protectors, while the flexible element gives it flexibility when opening and closing.

It is therefore not necessary, when using the document guard 1, to apply destructive stresses to keep it in the open position.

Furthermore, according to an embodiment illustrated in FIG. 6, the document cover 1 may comprise personalization elements, such as a pocket 35, intended to receive a document, associated with a flat element by gluing, welding, or similar.

For example, the first flat member 2 comprises a pocket 35 associated with the first cover 3 by thermal welding along three edges, so that a document such as a sheet of paper can be inserted into the pocket.
