Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a connector for RF lines according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such Connector is known from US-A-4 701 001.
  • Connectors in the manner of an insulation displacement connection that Make contact with a conductor by cutting, for example take a signal from the conductor, or else by two conductors with each other via such a connector to connect are known.
  • Such known connectors are used wherever there is a need Inexpensive solution to create an electrically conductive Establish connection between the connector and the conductor.
  • a connector for HF lines is also already known in which a pair of cutting edges is arranged that the end faces of the two cutting edges face each other exactly stand, so the pair of cutting edges with respect to the HF line arranged in a plane.
  • Such RF lines are used where large amounts of data or signals to be transmitted, which are correspondingly high Lead frequencies on the conductor.
  • An area of application for such RF lines is also automotive engineering, for audio systems, multimedia applications from the field of communication or navigation large amounts of data and wave signals are to be transmitted.
  • the invention is therefore to eliminate the described Disadvantages the task of a connector create that while basically maintaining the insulation displacement technology one even with temperature fluctuations and vibrations allows unchanged contact with the conductor.
  • the present invention is based on the finding that it with the insulation displacement connection between the cutting edges and the conductor comes to a cold weld connection and this Connection with a relative movement between the cutting edges and the conductor due to the gap gap that arises between the cutting edges and the conductor. It arises an air gap that shows the electrical resistance at the Contact point between the cutting edges and the conductor changed. There are potential differences at the contact point.
  • a connector for RF lines for contacting the outer conductor of the HF line by means of an insulation displacement connection with at least one Pair of opposing cutting edges provided, in which the Cutting opposite each other in the axial longitudinal direction of the Outer conductor are arranged offset.
  • the HF line it is a coaxial cable.
  • the cutting is to be understood in the sense of the invention, that the cutting edges are basically on the HF line are located opposite each other, the But cutting in contrast to the known connector are not arranged face to face, but in Axial longitudinal direction of the conductor seen one behind the other, d. H. at a distance from each other.
  • This training ensures that the cutting after penetration of the external insulation of the HF line with the Outer conductor a cold welded connection on the face and on at least one adjacent side surface. hereby becomes the contact surface between the cutting edges and significantly enlarged the outer conductor.
  • the connector has several pairs of cutting edges, which too one at right angles in the axial longitudinal direction of the outer conductor extending plane are arranged symmetrically.
  • the connector can have several pairs of cutting edges to one running along the axial longitudinal direction of the outer conductor Level are arranged symmetrically so that one too two levels of mirror-symmetrical design of the connector is made possible, so that only half of the connector must be made and two halves over the cutting can be plugged into each other to make the connector to build.
  • the increased contact area between the cutting edges and the Head causes the blades to change when the Distance of their end faces to each other on the outer conductor Formation of a gap between the outer conductor and the cutting edge slide as the sliding surface largely from the side surface the respective cutting edge is formed.
  • Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 of the drawing show a known connector 1 with cutting edges 2, standing on top of each other are arranged.
  • the connector 1 has a largely rectangular shape Base plate 4, on the long sides of each tab 5 are formed so that the connector 1 in one view has a U-shaped configuration from the front.
  • the both legs of the U-shaped arrangement thus formed thereby formed by the tabs 5 which encompass the HF line 3.
  • the cutting edges 2 of the connector 1 run in each case one level, so that the clamped between the cutting edges 2 Outer conductor 8 only from the respective end faces of the cutting edges 2 is detected so that it is due to, for example a change in temperature occurring Distance between the cutting edges 2 to a gap in the Contact surface between the cutting edges 2 and the outer conductor 8 comes and potential differences or faulty contacts the result are.
  • FIG. 3 and 4 of the drawing show a connector 9 according to the invention, which is largely similar to the known Connector 1 is formed and therefore advantageous Can be clamped with existing tools.
  • Plug connector 9 according to FIGS. 3 and 4 exists, however in that - as can be clearly seen from FIG. 4 is - the cutting edges 2 do not face each other arranged, but in the axial longitudinal direction of the conductor 3 run offset.
  • Tabs 5 Extend from the base plate 4 of the connector 9 Tabs 5 to form a largely U-shaped configuration of the connector 9 and embrace the RF line 3rd Extensively extend from the tabs 5 at an angle the cutting edges at right angles to the axial longitudinal direction of the conductor 3 2 in the direction of the inner conductor 6 (see FIG. 5) and penetrate the outer insulation 7 of the conductor 3 and clamp and squeeze the outer conductor 8.
  • the connector 9 on the long sides of its base plate 4 two tabs 5 each, the pairs of cutting edges with different axial distances a, b of the cutting edges 2 have.
  • the connector 9 can be composed of two halves be, with a half made from a sheet metal part with another half assembled to the connector 9 can be made by overlapping the cutting pairs to be ordered.
  • the tabs 5 Recordings 12, in the locking lugs 13 of the other connector half can intervene and snap into place. This training meets the need for inexpensive training especially for mass production.
  • the invention is based on an embodiment for connecting two coaxial lines have been described. As part of the invention is of course also an embodiment with a plug (socket or pin plug) the cutting arrangement according to the invention connected to the conductor becomes.
