Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an antistatic shoe.
  • Antistatic shoes are currently commercially available which can discharge to the ground the electrostatic charge accumulated by a person on his body.
  • the passenger can be affected by an electric shock which is unpleasant although substantially harmless.
  • This discharge occurs only if the person is insulated from the ground, for example by wearing a pair of shoes with a sole made of rubber or other insulating material.
  • a conventional antistatic shoe is in fact constituted by a small coil of conducting metal wires, for example made of copper, which are usually located proximate to the heel, above the rubber sole.
  • the wires by passing through the corresponding holes, reach the lower surface of the sole, where they are upset.
  • the coil is further electrically connected to a metal tab which passes through a slot formed in the insole or inner sole inside the upper and ends in an upward region with a first metallic plate which is arranged horizontally.
  • two slots are provided in which two flexible conducting wings are made to slide; the wings are folded downward and are connected to an overlying second metallic plate.
  • the accumulated electric charge can discharge to the ground, by flowing through the body of the user down to the heel and then through the second metal plate and the corresponding wings connected to the first metal plate.
  • GB-A-558 340 discloses an antistatic shoe having an insole and an out-sole both provided with a hole or opening at the heel and ball portions.
  • the insole openings are filled with plugs of electro-conductive rubber including downwardly extending portions or with separate discs of electro-conductive rubber.
  • the out-sole holes are filled with electro-conductive rubber in order to protrude to the ground.
  • the whole shoe heel 32 is formed of electro-conductive rubber.
  • FR-A-2255026 discloses an antistatic shoe comprising an insole with conducting elements positioned on either sides and electrically connected by sewing using a metallic thread, an outer sole through which extend conducting plugs that are part of a conducting layer intermediate the insole and the outsole.
  • FR-A-2754982 discloses a method of making antistatic soles for shoes, comprising an upper layer of conductive material provided with pads which traverse a lower layer.
  • the aim of the present invention is to solve the above-described drawbacks, by providing a device which allows to obtain a simplified shoe manufacturing process which leads not only to an economic advantage but also to an improvement in the quality of the product.
  • an object of the present invention is to provide a shoe which allows to solve the problem of grounding in the safest and most durable manner for the user.
  • Another object is to provide a shoe whose sole offers maximum uniformity of its components, without having metallic elements such as nails, pins or coils which can cause discomfort, especially over time and as the sole deteriorates.
  • the reference numeral 1 designates an upper of a conventional type in which the foot of the user is inserted.
  • the reference numeral 2 designates a sole in which at least two through seats 3 and 4 are formed respectively at the tip and at the heel; the seats are connected one another by means of a channel 5 and are adapted to accommodate a complementarily shaped insert 6 made of conducting plastic material.
  • the insert 6, which is longitudinally elongated, has a central body 7 which is arranged in the channel 5; two protrusions, designated by the reference numerals 8 and 9, are provided at the ends of the body 7, are preferably cylindrical or prism-shaped, are shaped complementarily to the seats 3 and 4, respectively, and are therefore located at the toe or heel region of the sole or at both regions.
  • the insert 6 is kept in place by the mutual thermal bonding of parts of the respective elements made of plastics.
  • an antistatic shoe having been provided which is adapted to discharge to the ground, through the user, the electrostatic charge accumulated for example by a car during travel.
  • the insert 6 is made of plastics, walking is optimum, as the insert follows the deformation of the sole.
  • a complementarily shaped insert 106 made of conducting plastic material is arranged in the channel 105 and has, in the end adjacent to the heel region, one or more protrusions, designated by the reference numeral 120, which are directed toward the inner sole 112.
  • the protrusions are connected to the upper by means of appropriate complementarily shaped holes, designated by the reference numeral 121, so as to maintain contact with a metal plate 110 which is accommodated in a complementarily shaped seat, designated by the reference numeral 111, which is formed in the inner sole 112 of the upper 101.
