Abstract

A method for requesting and for processing traffic information, in which a traffic-information query is transmitted by a mobile transceiver, and at least one traffic message is provided by a service provider via a base station, the traffic message being transmitted as a brief coded message. Information about the version of the stored data or data groups in the memory allocated to the mobile transceiver, and/or the manufacturer of the stored data or data groups and/or the issue date of the stored data or data groups is transmitted to the base station in the traffic-information query, so that in the return message of the traffic information, the base station can undertake the coding in such a way that the coded data can be well utilized on the basis of the stored data in the vehicle. In this manner, even given changing data, it is ensured in all events that the mobile transceiver is able to interpret the coded traffic messages.

Description

Stand der TechnikState of the art

The invention is based on a method for requesting and for processing traffic reports by type of the main claim.

A method and arrangement is already known from WO 98/26396 for the information of mobile participants. Here data on request and / or automatically between one Central unit or a mobile subscriber unit transfer. This data should serve in particular to: mobile subscribers to transmit traffic information. Basically, two ways are possible. On the one hand the mobile subscriber receives all the information from the head office given to traffic management, so that the Road users completely on the information of the Central is instructed. The other option is there too see that the road user is on board his vehicle carries a navigation device with which it is possible is from the given current position to one Target position to receive traffic management. In this In this case, the control center is only used to withdraw from the traffic center transmits such traffic information which could lead to a hindrance to the journey, in particular traffic jams, road closures, diversions or weather-related disturbances. This information can be used either transmitted in plain text or in one reduced form, whereby only codes are transmitted, and then complete these codes in the receiver Messages are composed. One such measure is described for example in DE-OS 35 36 820. To the Sending and receiving the information must be for everyone Participants have a radio that both the Sending messages as well as receiving Enables messages. With such a radio, it can is, for example, a common mobile radio device act, but it can also be stations that are on a certain frequency information to a center send out and for example radio receivers in the Are able to receive customized messages. In In this case, the head office can then process the Request information about a radio station broadcast and based on the individual identifier for it Take care that the message is only from the recipient can be evaluated, the individualized accordingly is.

Vorteile der ErfindungAdvantages of the invention

The measure according to the invention has the advantage that that based on the information transmitted to the headquarters it is guaranteed that the coded traffic messages on every case in the vehicle must also be evaluated because the transferred version indicator ensures that the information transmitted back from the headquarters also evaluated in the vehicle with the data available there can be. Misinformation or wrong information, that refer to incorrect or missing versions of the stored data will be safe avoided.

Advantageous results from the subclaims Further training and improvements in the main claim demonstrated method. So it is advantageous that in Store multiple data groups for different ones geographical regions are stored. By this measure is achieved that the vehicle with the device in one larger geographic area, e.g. B. in addition to Germany in France, Great Britain and in the Benelux countries, in is able to transmit coded traffic reports evaluate and process. Another advantage is consider that for a geographic region several Data groups with different levels of detail in memory 7 are filed. This measure ensures that for example for certain regions, for example regions or cities of great interest to tourists, others and more detailed information is available be put. When requesting traffic information can look at this more detailed information available a response from the base station.

It is also favorable that the for each data group separately Version and / or the manufacturer and / or the date of issue the traffic request is subsequently transmitted as Designated data group information. Through these measures is achieved that even if, for example, the stored data by purchasing regional, for example traffic information that can always be evaluated be made available no matter how old the stored data regarding the different regions are.

It is also advantageous to use the Traffic information request to transmit information whether the radio receiver with the navigation device is able to evaluate several data groups at the same time or not. Especially with simpler devices, there is the problem that only traffic reports are ever used of a data group can be evaluated. It is therefore not useful if from the base station at one Transmission traffic information that is transmitted require several data groups for evaluation, since then one Evaluation no longer in a given reaction time is possible. The base station then only becomes one Information returned with a data group are evaluable.

It is also advantageous that the traffic report request on Request is sent. This ensures that the User has it in hand, how often and how often Want to query traffic news. Especially if after a query, he found that traffic congestion are not to be expected, it is often sufficient that new queries only after a longer driving time required are. The user of the device is therefore in the Able to send out the queries according to his wishes.

It is also convenient to get the traffic report request in predetermined intervals. By this measure the driver of a vehicle is relieved. He does not have to always remember if there is a new traffic announcement is required. Rather, depending on the traveled route or according to time requirements Query for traffic delays made so that the Driver without having to think about it himself, all the time about the current traffic situation, especially about new ones Disabilities on the streets, is informed.

It is also advantageous, based on the received Traffic reports a route from an instantaneous To calculate point to a target point. Here, the Traffic jams and disabilities caused by the traffic request were taken into account when determining the route. It is also advantageous not all Traffic reports that meet the query criteria transmitted, but only those traffic reports that are in a given corridor between the current one Point and the target point. This ensures that the number of traffic reports continues to be restricted, taking care that the corridor is chosen so that also detects possible and sensible bypasses become.

It is also favorable that the evaluation possibility of several data groups in the radio 4 or navigation device 6 the location code along with the version from the base station is transmitted. This ensures that even at extensive geographic areas, e.g. B. Germany and France, a clear assignment of the place achieved is so that French places of French Data group and German locations of the German data group assigned.

Figure 1 shows a in a vehicle, not shown built-in mobile device 4, which is able to Antenna 5 broadcast radio broadcasts and such too receive. Under a mobile device such. B. radios to understand who work according to the GSM or AMPS standard, however also individualized radio receivers, e.g. B. DAB receiver, which have a return channel, or where the Broadcast the broadcast signal to another Cellular channel takes place. The mobile radio device 4 is equipped with a Navigation device 6 connected, the navigation device 6 is able due to the current location a route and a vehicle and an entered destination determine who has to drive the vehicle. This is the Navigation device 6 connected to a mass storage device 7. The Mass storage 7 contains information in digital form over roads of a certain geographical area. The memory also contains information in data groups for the evaluation of data transmitted in coded form Traffic news, which encodes traffic news can be received in the radio receiver 4. Details about this are described in DE-OS 35 36 820. Furthermore, in Memory 7 in the data groups information about the Location codes of the coded traffic messages filed and their link with the location codes of the digital map. Figure 1 also shows a base station 2, which is able to transmit radio signals from the antenna 3 Mobile device 4 to receive and messages to the Send mobile device 4 back. The base station can next to a cellular base station of a cellular network Broadcasting stations, e.g. B. be a DAB station that can send individualized messages with one Return channel receiver or a mobile radio receiver Base station 2 is connected to a memory 1, wherein in the memory 1 information about traffic incidents and Traffic obstructions can be read, encoded and be made available for broadcast.

Now the driver of a vehicle starts a journey and has entered a destination in his navigation system, so is either set manually if the driver does so has, for example at the push of a button, or automatically from Users of the mobile device 4 connect to the Base station 2 set up.

A radio telegram is now sent to the base station 2 in accordance with Figure 2 discontinued. The radio telegram according to FIG. 2 has a header 10, on the basis of which the base station can recognize can request what type of messages from whom. Furthermore, the message according to FIG. 2 has a field for the Data type 11. Data type 11 indicates how the data part 12 and 13 of the radio telegram from the mobile station to Base station is set up. Based on this information is now the base station is able to on the one hand the identifying the sending station and, on the other hand, the Recognize the request profile. From the corresponding service provider The transmitted radio telegram is in the base station evaluated according to data type 11.

The data part 12 is more detailed in FIG. 3 shown. In the exemplary embodiment, the data part 12 a field 15 in which it is specified how many data groups in the Memory 7 are stored. Field 16 indicates whether a or more data groups when returning the Traffic reports are allowed for evaluation. Act it are just simple recipients who are unable are based on the evaluation of traffic reports ensure multiple data groups is in data field 16 transferred that only one data group for generating the Traffic news may be used. That only a data group can also be used then if there is only one data group in memory 7, for example the location codes and the road connections from Germany are saved. Data field 17 and 18 contains data group information. Is just a data group stored in the memory 7 and is based on the data field 15 only one data group is allowed, only one is allowed Transfer data group information in data field 17. are two data group information are allowed, two Transferring data group information is several Data groups permitted, the data fields 17 and 18 can be supplemented by further data fields. The data field 15 must be consistent with the number of Data group information in data fields 17, 18 and the following. Can with a transmission of mobile devices the evaluation of the traffic report with only one data group this is indicated in field 16.

In Figure 2, the data word is yet another Data field 13 supplemented by further information are transferred. With the further information that can also be transferred, it is z. B. for information about the intended use of toll roads, and / or vehicle type, and Information about the current location of the Vehicle and the desired destination.

In Figure 4 is the content of the data fields 17 or 18 shown. At version 19, the version number of the Transfer data group that is stored in memory 7. On digit 20 stores the issue date on which this data group has been published. At point 21 is the manufacturer of the data group entered to different manufacturers with specific differences to be able to differentiate between the same data group. At position 22 is the manufacturer's version number specified. This information ensures that the facilities in the vehicle are able to the traffic reports on the part of the mobile device are secure to be able to decode. While usually provided can be that a service provider the data groups in different versions and of different Knows manufacturers, is usually used in vehicle devices depending on the age of the vehicle, by the manufacturer of the Navigation device or from the vehicle manufacturer different data groups exist, which are differ in content and age. There Roads keep coming and other roads are eliminated, and names of place names changed frequently is when an older one is in the vehicle Version of a data group is saved, an evaluation the information from the service provider is then no longer possible, if traffic information from the base station created a newer version of the tables of the data groups have been. By transferring the version numbers, the Manufacturer of the corresponding version and the Creation dates will make it possible to ensure that from Service providers only transfer data that is from the Vehicle device can be evaluated. On the other hand not transfer such data for which either in Vehicle device no data groups exist or where their evaluation is hindered. Because it is not useful if a vehicle z. B. in the border area located between Germany and France, and the driver intends to go to France, information about to transmit French obstacles to traffic if the Data tables in the vehicle receiver are not suitable Evaluate traffic information in French territory. On the other hand, it doesn't make sense to add data transmit if the vehicle recipient due to its simple design is only able to within a Data telegram information of a single data group evaluate. In this case it is also if in Vehicle receivers both the French and the German data table is included, not useful, German and French traffic information mixed transfer. If necessary, this is indicated by the information in Data field 16 prevented.

In Figure 5, the data word is shown that the Base station 2 is emitted by the service provider after he received and evaluated the data word according to FIG. 2 Has. The data field 25 contains the header which is used for Example as information containing the destination address, d. H. For which mobile station the message is destined for. in The Field 26 is the number of messages transmitted, so that the mobile device can recognize when the message is complete. Field 27 indicates which Data group in the memory 7 of the radio receiver 4 must access, to be able to evaluate the following information. This information corresponds to the information provided by the Mobile device 4 sent in field 19 to the base station has been. This field is particularly important if the Radio receiver is only able to transmit evaluate only one data group of a message or else only one data group is stored in memory 7. In field 28 traffic messages are now transmitted, the other one Fields 29 can follow if more than one Traffic message is to be transmitted.

At the point 30 the location code of a traffic message is transmitted, for example at which point of a freeway with a Traffic jams can be expected. At point 31 is the extension of the traffic disruption. Here's an example notes whether there is any traffic jam or the Road blocking via one or more exits or extends over a certain number of kilometers. At the Position 32 indicates the direction in which the Traffic obstruction, whether it is, for example a traffic obstruction in the direction of travel south or west or a traffic obstruction to the north or East trades. With the information so available, it is now possible for a navigation system that Make route calculation so that the time required for the Driver of a vehicle is very low. Because they are Disabilities as such and the length of the disabilities as well as their direction known, the navigation system due to the map material that it also stores 7 check whether there is another route, which is longer than the previously calculated route, faster to Goal leads or not.

In Figure 7 it can be seen that the location code 30 again in is divided into two pieces of information, one is data field 35, in which the version number of field 19 is written, as well as in the actual location code 36. By this measure it is achieved that when the recipient is able to Location code from different data groups in one Evaluate data telegram, gets a hint, too which data group a certain location code belongs to. Poses For example, imagine that the data group for Germany has the same location code for Saarbrücken as Nice for the France data group, so it is very It is important that the data group is also given for the location code becomes. However, this means that the location code does not match a very small bit width, for example with 8 or 16 Bit but with a higher bit width, for example with 32 bits must be transmitted. The field 27 is then a Blank field in which B. a zero is written. It is but now it is possible that not all recipients are able to evaluate these more complex location codes. Therefore, these are solely dependent on the data group information in field 27, where the data group for all subsequent ones Traffic information is not specified, however Definition is made when the data group later with the Location code is linked. In the first case, the Location code of data field 30 shortened to 8 or 16 bits data group information, but it is not possible pass on. For this reason, is therefore simple Receivers the output of traffic information on a Limited data group, which is defined in field 27, in mentioned example either on Germany or on France.

Figure 8 now shows the structure of data groups, which in stored in the memory 7 assigned to the mobile device 4 is. Data group 38 is a table in the location codes, road links and standard texts of Germany are stored, such as in the DE 35 36 820 or in the standard ENV-278/7/3/006 closer is described. The data group 39 concerns locations and Road connections to be found in France and data group 40 relates to tables in which location codes and Road connections of the city of Frankfurt a. M. closer are listed. The list of data groups can be design as you like. So data groups are also with tourist sights, such as the Black Forest or Allgäu possible.

Due to the transmitted traffic information it is for the Navigation system 6 possible, taking into account the requested traffic reports a route from to calculate the instant point to the target point, where Traffic delays, as far as necessary can be avoided. It also makes sense if the current point and the target point is known only to transmit traffic announcements that are in one Corridor between the current point and the Target point. This ensures that not all Traffic reports from Germany or France must be, but the traffic reports on one restrict a certain area in the direction of the route can.
