Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a chronograph watch case having a middle-bezel noble metal comprising a recess in which are arranged from place to place segments of vile material for functional purpose to allow the assembly of the other constituent parts of said watch chronograph and to ensure the sealing at the passages of winding rods.
  • envelope is understood to mean a structure that is sufficiently rigid to be manipulated and not a mere metal deposit of a few tens of microns on a matrix made of vile material already constituting the middle part or a middle-case.
  • Such an "envelope" in the sense of the present invention is for example obtained in a known manner by the electroforming technique which allows to obtain complex shapes having thicknesses ranging from a few tens of microns to a few hundred microns.
  • the thickness of the envelope is too small, for example of the order of 150 to 200 ⁇ m, it is necessary to provide reinforcement means arranged throughout the recess to protect the outer wall against shocks or pressures.
  • such a reinforcement is obtained by means of several segments having the same profile as the inner wall of the middle part, said segments being pressed against said wall by means of a frustoconical casing ring.
  • four segments covering at least 85% of the periphery of the recess are held in place, either by elastic means arranged in a groove all around or in place, or by screwing flanges at the passage of the stem winding.
  • these segments which are made of metal or base alloy such as brass, have virtually no mechanical function other than reinforcement and contribute especially to weigh down the timepiece, which has for inconvenience to believe that it is noble metal, gold or solid platinum.
  • the present invention relates instead to a noble metal chronograph watch, that is to say a timepiece comprising not only a rod, but also at least two pushers and whose hollow caseband-bezel has a sufficient thickness to withstand external pressures or shocks, but still insufficient to allow mechanical assembly of all the components necessary for the construction of said chronograph watch.
  • the invention therefore aims in particular an arrangement for achieving economically such an assembly with a reduced number of parts.
  • the subject of the invention is a noble metal chronograph watch comprising a box, closed by an ice-cream and a bottom resting on a rigid middle-window having a recess open towards the center of the box and in which are provided through passages for a time setting rod and for guide bushes of at least two pushers, and a chronograph movement with its display device positioned in said box by a casing ring disposed between said movement and said middle-bezel.
  • This chronograph watch is characterized in that the guide bushes comprise an externally threaded and terminated tube by a flange and in that at least two disjoint segments shaped substantially like the recess and pierced with a threaded hole are arranged at right pusher bushings to allow screwing from the outside to ensure both a firm positioning said segments and a seal at said sockets by crushing a ring of the metal of the middle-bezel around the through passages.
  • These segments held in place by the pusher bushings also have other functional aspects, in particular in the positioning and fixing of the casing ring in which will be introduced from the bottom a preassembled movement also comprising the dial and the needles.
  • one of the segments, in its upper part, ice side, is provided with a pin, whose head protrudes from the side facing the center of the box to cooperate with a notch made in the upper part of the casing ring to allow to index the position of said casing ring, that is to say to perfectly align its through passages with those provided in the middle and in the segments for the passage respectively of the time setting rod and segments.
  • this pin is preferably disposed next to the threaded hole for the bushing of the pusher and not above it. Equally, the pin could be replaced by a tenon coming from material with the segment.
  • each segment comprises, in the lower part of its face oriented towards the center and in an area not located at the threaded hole, a groove parallel to the bottom, in which is engaged by unscrewing the head of a screw to eccentric head previously screwed into a housing of the wall of the casing ring which then becomes integral with the segments and middle-bezel.
  • the number of these multifunctional disjoint segments depends on the number of pushers.
  • the chronograph watch comprises four pushers disposed at 2h, 4h, 8h and 10h and thus four segments that will occupy 50 to 60% of the recess of the middle case-bezel, or less.
  • the chronograph watch includes a box 1 whose monobloc middle-case 20 of noble metal such as gold is closed by an ice 12 and a bottom 13.
  • This box is intended to receive a chronograph movement 5 and its display device comprising a dial 6 conventionally having needles 7 and counters 8a, and two small windows 8b for a digital display.
  • the external control members comprising four pushers 2, arranged at the 2h, 4h, 8h, 10h positions and a time setting rod 4.
  • the caseband 20 has on its entire periphery a recess 19 oriented towards the center of the box 1 and delimited by a wall 18 having at all points substantially the same thickness of the order of 400 .mu.m, which already gives it sufficient rigidity to withstand shocks and pressures without the need for reinforcing ribs.
  • This middle-telescope 20 is advantageously obtained by the electroforming technique which makes it easy to produce in the wall 18 hollow deformations 23, 24 intended to partially accommodate the pusher heads 2 (FIG. figure 3 ) and the crown of the winding stem 4 ( figure 5 ) and a recessed conformation 28 provided with a through passage 29 for fastening a bracelet ( figure 6 ).
  • the hollow deformations 23 comprise a circular opening 25 for the passage of the pusher mechanism 2 comprising a sleeve 50 inside which slides a rod 51 extended to the outside by a head.
  • the hollow deformation 24 comprises a circular opening 3, extended by a sleeve 3a made of material with the wall 18 and having the same thickness as the latter to allow the guiding of the winding stem 4 and to ensure sealing at this point. level.
  • the upper part of the middle part-bezel 20 is the telescope 21 itself and comprises a curved edge 22 which ensures sealing at the level of the ice 12 as will be explained later.
  • the lower part comprises at least one ring 17 parallel to the bottom 13 which makes it possible to seal at this level.
  • segments 30, arranged to the right of the pushers 2 constitute an indispensable connecting element for mounting the various components of the chronograph watch.
  • 4 segments 30 are put in place in the recess 19, at the right of the pushers 2, that they are not contiguous and that they each occupy an angular sector of about 50 °, ie substantially 55% of the recess 19, that is to say that they have a very accessory role in the rigidity of the middle part or the dummy increase in weight of the timepiece as a whole.
  • These segments 30 are made of a bright metal, nevertheless having good mechanical properties, such as brass, to allow machining in the substantially median portion a threaded through passage 35 provided to coincide with the opening 25 of the middle-lunette 20
  • the positioning of these segments, which constitutes the first step of the assembly, is facilitated by a depression 33 formed in the outer face 32 of the segment and shaped to perfectly fit the contour of the hollow deformation 23 of the wall 18 of the 20.
  • This pre-positioning of the segments 30 then makes it possible to engage a casing ring 40 comprising unthreaded through holes 43 and 45, respectively for the passage of the time-setting rod 4 and for the 2.
  • This casing ring 40 also comprises in its lower part (bottom side 13) notches at the bottom of which are formed holes 47 for the establishment of e eccentric head screw 48.
  • the eccentric portion of these eccentric screws is provided to bear against the bottom of a groove 38 formed in a segment 30 in its face 34 facing the inside of the box 1.
  • the groove 38 extends from one end to the other of the segment. It is also possible that this groove is blind by being machined only at the eccentric head screw 48 with which is cooperates.
  • the casing ring 40 comprises an angular recess 42 which allows said upper portion to conform to the contour of the inner face of the bezel 21 and its curved edge 22. By unscrewing, the screw eccentric head 48 will rest on the bottom of the groove 38 and block the casing ring 40 against the inner face of the bezel 21.
  • the casing ring comprises a notch 41 in which is engaged an indexing pin 31 stuck in the face 34 of one of the segments 30 in its upper part and substantially above the groove 38.
  • the function of the pin 31 could be filled by a pin coming from material with the segment 30, especially in the case where the blank made of brass is obtained by molding.
  • the figure 2 represents the segment 30 having an indexing pin 31 which is, in the example chosen, the segment positioned at 2 o'clock. The other three segments have exactly the same shape but do not have an indexing pin.
  • bushings 50 are screwed from the outside into the threaded through-passages 35 of the segments 30.
  • These bushings have a smooth tube portion 54, having the length substantially of the thickness of the casing ring 40, a portion of the threaded tube 55 having for length substantially the thickness of a segment 30 at the threaded through hole 35, a first shoulder 56 and a second shoulder 57 serving to guide in a known manner the pusher head, which is sealed at this level by a seal 58 housed in a groove formed inside the sleeve.
  • a seal 58 housed in a groove formed inside the sleeve.
  • the time-setting rod 4 is put in place, being observed, with reference to the figure 5 it is guided solely by a guide tube 3a having the same thickness as the wall 18 of the caseband and extending the opening 3, and that there is therefore no need to reinforce the recess of the middle part of the case. this place.
  • This time-setting rod passes through the through passage 43 of the casing ring 40 and has a groove inside which is disposed a seal 58 bearing against the inner surface of the guide tube 3a. .
  • the assembly is continued by the installation of an ice seal 11 which is compressed radially by placing the ice 12 against the curved edge 22 of the caseband 20, that is to say indirectly against the casing ring 40.
  • the bottom screwing is carried out which comprises a ring 14 having an outward thread corresponding to the thread 44 of the casing ring, said ring being extended by a ring 17 provided near its periphery with a groove. 15 to receive a seal which is compressed axially against an annular portion 27 of the bottom of the middle-bezel 20, which ensures a sufficient seal even when the recess 19 does not include a segment, as is visible on the Figures 5 and 6 .
