Description
The present invention relates to a method of laying on a support, a coating comprising a set of juxtaposed plates, of the type comprising a step of application and binding on the support of a bituminous sheet along a connecting face thereof. ci and a step of applying and binding the facing plates on the bituminous sheet along a receiving face thereof.
It is known, particularly from DE-42 20 770, to use a bituminous sheet for laying tiles. This bituminous sheet is interposed between the support and the tiles. In order first to ensure the binding of the bituminous sheet to the support and then the joining of the tiles to the bituminous sheet, it is known to heat the two faces of the hardwood.
This heating is carried out directly on the bituminous sheet, before it is put in place on the support and before the tiles are placed on the upper face of the bituminous sheet.
Although the result obtained by such a method is very satisfactory, the implementation of the method is long and difficult, particularly because of the need to locally heat the surfaces of the bitummeuse sheet before setting it up, and before recovery of it by the tiles to ask.
EP-A-0,463,933 décrit un procédé selon le préambule de la revendication 1.EP-A-0,463,933 discloses a process according to the preamble of claim 1.
Thus, the object of the invention is to propose a method for laying a coating that does not have the drawbacks mentioned above and that makes it possible to obtain the same laying reliability as with a previously heated bituminous sheet, while still having easy implementation.

Figure 1 shows an example of a
D'autres épaisseurs peuvent néanmoins être utilisées selon le domaine d'application, l'épaisseur étant avantageusement comprise entre 1 et 6 mm.The sheet is for example constituted by the product marketed in France by AXTER under the name ROLLSTICK. This sheet has a total thickness of about 4 mm. Other thicknesses may nevertheless be used depending on the field of application, the thickness advantageously being between 1 and 6 mm.
The bituminous sheet is essentially formed of a central layer or
The
The self-adhesive materials used to form the
Finally, the
Advantageously, the bituminous sheet has a band shape and is initially wound on itself to form a coil. This presentation facilitates its transport and its implementation on the substrate to receive the coating.
The laying method of the coating according to the invention will now be described with reference to the following figures.
After the surface of the floor or wall to receive the tiles has been cleaned, this is a support on which the bituminous sheet will be applied and bound. The support can be of any kind such as concrete, wood, plaster or even a coating of earlier tiles.
For the implementation of the bituminous sheet, the operator initially removes the peelable
The bonding face being thus exposed,
The connections between sheets are not laid by overlapping but edge to edge. When laying tiles in a damp area such as a bathroom, it is necessary to ensure the tightness of the coating. Thus, the regions of the connections between the bituminous sheets are advantageously heated by means of a gas burner. During heating, the bitumen layer flows into the fitting so that the latter disappears more or less. In particular, the opposite edges of the adjacent sheets are melted by heating until local melting, which leads to obtaining a substantially continuous layer of bitumen.
Alternatively, the gap defined between two adjacent sheets is filled with a sealing material such as molten bitumen, emulsion or solvent phase to ensure the continuity of the surface defined by the bituminous sheets.
Advantageously, before arranging the bituminous sheets side by side, a strip coated with reinforced self-adhesive aluminum is applied on the support along the future lines of junction between two adjacent sheets.
The presence of this band below the boundary region between two bituminous sheets allows for substantial heating of the edges of the sheets until they form a continuous surface.
After the bituminous sheets have been thus applied and bonded to the support, the
Thus, the removal of the
As shown in FIG. 3, the tiles denoted 32, or any other type of plate facing, are then applied directly to the receiving
The connection between the
However, advantageously, the tiles thus arranged are heated from their exposed surface by applying the flame of a
It is understood that raising the temperature of the receiving
At the same time, the connecting
Depending on the nature or thickness of the tiles used, the surface of each tile should be heated between one-half second and two seconds per centimeter and commonly about one second per centimeter. For example, a 20 cm x 20 cm tile having a thickness of between 6 and 9 mm needs to be heated for about 20 seconds.
Thus, the heat source is applied at a given point of the tiles installed for a period of between one second and two minutes and preferably substantially equal to 30 seconds.
Insofar as the heating of the receiving
En variante, l'étape de chauffage de la face de réception des carreaux de la feuille bitumineuse peut être omise, la liaison des carreaux à la feuille bitumineuse n'étant assurée que par le revêtement auto-adhésif 18.Alternatively, the step of heating the receiving face of the tiles of the bituminous sheet may be omitted, the connection of the tiles to the bituminous sheet being provided only by the self-
In addition, according to another variant of implementation, the self-adhesive coatings can be eliminated insofar as the connection between the bituminous sheet and the support, as well as the connection between the tiles and the bituminous sheet are ensured by heating the considered faces of the bituminous sheet.
Ils sont avantageusement amenés à une température comprise entre 80°C et 200°C et de préférence sensiblement égale à 120°C.Finally, according to yet another variant, the tiles can be applied after being preheated in an oven, or by means of a gas burner. The tiles are thus preheated before their application, at a temperature sufficient to allow, after their application, a softening or partial melting of the receiving
After completion of the laying phase of the tiles, a
The method described here can be advantageously used with ceramic tiles or tiles, porcelain, cement, concrete, natural stone, metal or a composite material reinforced with fibers. With this type of material, the method advantageously comprises a step of heating the tiles to cause softening of the receiving face of the bituminous sheet.
The facing plates may also be made of wood slabs, such as parquet or paneling or derivatives thereof, such as "Formica", melamine or varnished panels.
The use of a bituminous sheet for the laying of wood sheets avoids the use of traditional adhesive substances that contain aromatic substances that can cause health problems for installers.
The method is particularly efficient and fast for laying facing plates. In addition, the use of a bituminous sheet reduces the risk of cracking and cracking of the coating while providing a waterproof coating.
The coating put in place according to the invention can easily be replaced or repaired by replacing only some tiles. For this purpose, the bituminous sheet is left on its support, and only the tiles to be replaced are removed. In their original location, new tiles are reinstalled. To ensure the connection of the new tiles, they are heated from their free surface after installation, to cause softening of the receiving face of the bituminous sheet.
For all heating phases of the bituminous sheet, a hot air blowing device can be used instead of the gas burner.
