Description
The invention relates to a protective helmet for motorcyclists with a shell, a chin strap detachably connected to the shell and a swiveling one Visor, the shell and chin guard are made of an impact-resistant material and are lined with padding (see GB-A-2 175 490).
In a known hard hat of this type, the chin guard and that Visor pivotally connected to the shell, with the horizontal pivot axis is arranged approximately at forehead height. The visor can either be used alone or together be pivoted upwards with the chin guard, so that the driver is one has a clear field of vision. In this state, the protective helmet with a so-called Comparable jet helmet, which has no chin guard and no visor. Since that Visor, when swung upwards, is sometimes perceived as annoying, it can also be completely removed. In this case, however, must be added an additional forehead can be attached to the shell, otherwise none there is a secure connection between the chin guard and the shell.
The invention has for its object the generic hard hat to further develop its changeability.
According to the invention this object is achieved in that the chin guard with the shell is rigidly connected and that the visor is pivotable with the chin guard connected is.
Since the chin guard is rigidly connected to the shell, the invention is Hard hat comparable to a conventional one-piece full-face helmet. On the other hand, if the chin guard is separated from the shell, then that is Hard hat comparable to a conventional open face helmet. The hard hat can therefore quickly and easily converted from a full-face helmet to a jet helmet and vice versa.
The chin guard is preferably connected to the helmet by a snap lock. For this purpose, the chin guard can have resilient locking tongues, which in Corresponding shafts of the shell can be inserted and locked.
The chin guard can also be screwed to the helmet. It only comes that the chin guard is rigidly connected to the shell when assembled is to optimally protect the driver's chin.
In an advantageous development of the protective helmet according to the invention provided that the visor in the open state in a gap between the Chin guard and the associated padding is arranged. The visor is therefore in the opened, swung down state not only against contamination or damage protected, but it also results in aerodynamic and acoustic advantages.
To lock the visor in the swung up, closed state it is provided that the visor or the chin guard has locking cams with corresponding recesses of the chin guard or the visor in engagement are feasible. The locking cams or the recesses can also be arranged in this way be that the visor can be locked in different pivot positions.
As is apparent from Fig. 1, the protective helmet shown includes for motorcyclists
a
kratzfesten transparenten Material.With the
11 verborgen.The formation of the
The safety helmet shown can easily meet the driver's wishes
be modified accordingly. The chin guard can be used for
As can be seen from the above description, the protective helmet shown can can be modified in a simple manner, so that either a conventional full-face helmet with rigidly attached chin guard or open face helmet is created at whose field of vision remains completely free.
The safety helmet described is not only characterized by great versatility, especially characterized by low manufacturing costs.
