Definitions
- the present invention relates to a socket electric.
- the invention relates more particularly to sockets intended to be mounted on vehicles such motorcycles or cars and intended to receive lighting lamps thereof.
- these sockets are made made of insulating plastic and have, in their bottom, one or two contacts intended to cooperate with lamp base studs, these contacts being connected to a suitable electrical circuit and laterally in the socket introduction cavity, a return contact, said cavity having grooves with which cooperate lugs of the base for bayonet mounting of the lamp.
- One of the aims of the present invention is to make a socket which allows simple mounting and fast lamps and which overcomes the aforementioned drawbacks.
- the electric socket is of the type comprising an insulating plastic body with a cavity for receiving the base of a lamp, said base comprising a contact pad and two pins lateral, said cavity comprising an electrical contact in its bottom intended to cooperate with the stud of the lamp, a side contact intended to cooperate with the side wall of the base of said lamp and two grooves intended for receive the pins of the lamp base, said socket being characterized in that the lateral contact is arranged in one of the grooves and has an elastic bar contact with the free end facing the bottom of the cavity and is terminated by a bearing surface a lug on the base.
- the assembly is simplified since it suffices to push the lamp into the cavity until the lug, after pushing back the elastic contact strip, come and cooperate with the bearing surface thereof.
- the groove in which the elastic contact strip extends comprises, laterally, a hollow which extends from its end adjacent to its opening leading to the end of the cavity opposite the bottom to the vicinity of the bearing surface of the elastic contact strip. So, for the disassembly of the lamp, it must be done pivot slightly as in a bayonet fitting.
- the socket is made in two parts, a body and a attached cover constituting the bottom, the body comprising, at its end intended to receive the cover, at least one nipple intended to pass through the hole of a blade contact having, at one end, lugs of crimping for one electrical conductor, while the other end is terminated by a fold intended to cooperate with the stud of the lamp base, the cover comprising, at least one protuberance with a conduit intended to receive the nipple.
- the withdrawal tends to repel the lamp so that if it is not locked in the socket cavity, it is ejected.
- the body and the cover include conductor guide and retaining cradles electric.
- the body In order to perfectly position the blade contact, the body has pawns between which are inserted the crimp tabs of the contact blade.
- the contact strip is made from a plate good conductor of electricity and gifted with a certain elasticity, said plate being cut and shaped to present a plate in which is cut a retaining tab, one end of the plate comprising crimping lugs of an electrical conductor, while the other end is extended by the contact strip that is folded into a hairpin and which presents along an edge, at its free end, an ear.
- the body has a housing, opening into the groove in which the elastic contact strip extends, and into which the plate is slid, the housing comprising a stopper with which the retaining tab cooperates and the cover being provided with bars inserted in the housing and cooperating with the corresponding end of the turntable.
- Another object of the present invention is to facilitate the mounting of the socket on a support.
- the side wall of the socket has two grooves with a through opening on the end of the socket intended to receive the base of the lamp, one of the edges of the groove being straight, while the other edge goes away from the first edge from the opening, the bottom of said groove being constituted by an elastic tongue having a projection with an inclined ramp facing the opening and a steep on the opposite side, the support having two fingers intended to be inserted into the grooves and to cooperate with the projections. So to mount and to lock the socket on the support, it suffices to push the socket so that the fingers cooperate with the ramp of the projections to finally fall behind the steep.
- the socket may have a groove on its side facing the support, an elastic seal being inserted into the groove in order to cooperate with the edge correspondent of said support. This provision allows sealing the socket on the support and also to constitute a security opposing the inadvertent uncoupling of the socket from said support.
- Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view a socket according to the invention.
- Figure 2 is also a perspective view exploded.
- FIG. 3 and Figure 4 are sectional views showing the mounting of the lamp.
- Figure 5 is a sectional view along the line 5-5 of figure 4.
- Figure 6 is a partial perspective view showing the digging allowing disassembly of the lamp.
- Figure 7 is a sectional view along the line 7-7 of figure 4.
- a assembly intended to support a lamp filling the signaling functions in a motor vehicle.
- This set includes a support 1 intended to be fixed or molded with all the fire and a socket 2 intended to receive the lamp.
- the socket 2 has a shaped body 3 general cylindrical with a cavity 4 open at one end 5 intended to receive the lamp, while the other end is closed by a cover 6.
- the sleeve 2 and the cover 6 are produced in molded plastic and are, after mounting contacts, as will be explained next, assembled definitively for bonding, welding or other.
- the body 3 On the side of the cover 6, the body 3 has a collar 7 extended by a lateral support 8.
- the collar 7 has, on the right of support 8, two pins 9 opposite which two guide pins extend 10 and cradles 11 for an electrical conductor.
- the socket 2 is intended to receive two electrical contact blades 12 each having one end, a fold 13 intended to cooperate with a lamp contact pad and, at the other end, lugs 15 for crimping an electrical conductor in the vicinity of the legs 15, each blade 12 comprising a hole 14.
- the blades are mounted by engaging the holes 14 on the pins 9, while the legs 15 are inserted between the pins 10 so as to ensure proper positioning of the blades in the cavity 4, the conductors being inserted in the cradles 11.
- the cover 6 has, on its internal face, two protrusions 17 pierced, each with a conduit 18 to receive the free ends of the nipples, so that, when the cover is attached, the blades 12 are perfectly locked and held in position.
- the cover 6 has a lateral extension 20 corresponding to support 8 and having two cradles 11a complementary to the cradles 11.
- Cradles 11 and 11a have ribs 11b which, when the cover is mounted and fixed on the body 3, delimiting a circular section slightly smaller than that of conductors with their insulation so that these are contained, which allows to prevent them from being torn off.
- the socket 2 in line with the lateral support 8, comprises a housing 25 intended to receive a member for electrical contact 26.
- the electrical contact member 26 is produced in a plate of a good electrically conductive material endowed with a certain elasticity and cut out and shaped to present a rectangular plate 27 in which a retaining tab 28 is cut, while one end of the plate is shaped to have two crimp tabs 29, the other end comprising, folded in a hairpin, a barrette of contact 30 whose free end is provided with a surface support 32 and a lateral ear 31.
- the housing 25 has a section in C so that the plate can be slid and has a stop against which comes to bear the free end of the tongue of restraint.
- the support 8 includes a cradle 36? willing between the cradle 11 and the cover, an additional cradle 36a, so as to guide and enclose a conductor electric crimped between the tabs 29.
- the contact strip 30 has, in the vicinity of the elbow connecting it to the plate 27, a slightly divergent 30a which then forms an S curve 30b up to the free end 32.
- the housing 25 is bordered by a groove 39 whose width, at the end 5, corresponds substantially the diameter of the pins of the base of a lamp.
- a hollow 40 which extends up to the face of the body comprising the collar 7, the contact strip 30, by its free end, extending up to the level of said digging.
- the base 61 of the lamp is introduced by the end 5 in the cavity 4 of the socket 2 so that, one of the lugs 62, fits into the groove 39 and the other 63 in the groove 38.
- the groove 38 which receives the other lug 63 of the base 61 of the lamp 60 has a width which allows the rotation of the base to release the corresponding pin from the end of the contact strip 30.
- a notch 42 is produced which opens onto end 5 and, angularly offset by 180 °, two grooves 43 having, on the side of the end 5, a opening 44 with a straight guide side 45, while that the other side 46 goes away from side 45 from the opening 44 towards the other end.
- the bottom of these grooves is constituted by an elastic tongue 48 which has a projection 20 with, on the side of the opening 43, an inclined ramp 51 and, on the opposite side, a steep 52.
- Support 1 in this embodiment, consists of a cylindrical body 55 intended to receive the sleeve 2 engaged on the side of its end 5.
- the support 1 has an internal projection guide 56 intended to cooperate with the notch 42 and constituting a keying system.
- the sleeve 2 has, on its turned side on the side opposite to the collar 7, a groove 65 in which is housed a seal 66.
- the distance from side 46 of the wall corresponding to the size 50 corresponds to the width fingers 57 so that, if one wishes to release the sleeve 2 of its support 1, said socket is made to pivot so as to release the fingers 57 from the projections, the sleeve extractable, fingers 57 being guided along sides 46.
