Description

The invention relates to a method for the renovation of recessed ceiling lights and a lamp suitable for this purpose.

In the renovation of recessed ceiling lights is often done so that the existing recessed light is not replaced, but rather a new light is used in the housing of the old lamp. For this purpose, the lamp to be renovated was exploited and the new lamp fitted into the housing. The new lamp had to be individually adapted to the old lamp, so that no large numbers were reached. In addition, in the refurbishment method used in the prior art, the old lamp was still visible after the renovation, which affected the overall appearance of the ceiling.

Die mit diesen Bestandteilen ausgerüstete Leuchte wird nach unten durch einen Abdeckring abgedeckt.WO 98/34065 discloses a method for converting a luminaire for use of compact fluorescent lamps, wherein a compact fluorescent lamp is screwed into the socket of an existing lamp and a matched to the compact fluorescent lamp reflector is suspended in the existing lamp so that it surrounds the lamp in the assembled state , The luminaire equipped with these components is covered at the bottom by a cover ring.

No. 5,083,248 discloses a method for converting a recessed luminaire to a surface-mounted luminaire. For this purpose, a tube unit is dependent on spring elements of an existing light, which has a base plate, a screen and a extending between the base plate and the screen graduated tube. In the lamp socket of the existing lamp, a socket extension is used, in which the lamp is screwed.

It is the object of the invention to provide a method for the renovation of recessed ceiling lights and an associated refurbishment light available, which allow to realize a renovation of recessed ceiling lights in a visually appealing and cost-effective manner.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in terms of its first aspect by a method for refurbishing a ceiling luminaire, in which an old luminaire (old light), which is mounted on or in a ceiling, a new light, called refurbishment light, attached, the one or a plurality of housing parts having one or more light exit openings, one or more lamp sockets and electrical components, wherein the refurbishment light is preferably held on the old lamp on the ceiling, which is characterized in that the refurbishment lamp, a cladding, which may be in particular a cladding sheet which extends to the lateral edges of the refurbishment lamp and at least in the area outside the light exit openings forms a shield against view from below, that the refurbishment lamp has a greater length and width than the old lamp and that the Sanierungsleu Chte is mounted so that the panel comes to rest below the old light, so that they the housing of the old lamp at least in the area outside the light exit openings substantially completely shields against view from below.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the essential lighting and electrical components of the refurbishment luminaire are mounted above the panel. The refurbishment lamp has in this case on the side facing the mounting of the ceiling side preferably a housing body, which is inserted into an opening of the housing of the old lamp.

According to the invention, a refurbishment luminaire may be used in which the cladding forms a frame which surrounds one or more housing parts which define a light exit opening and, in particular, can surround one or more light exit openings.

In particular, the cladding may comprise a cladding sheet, which surrounds a housing, which receives the lamps, reflectors and / or other lighting components, like a frame and extends to the side edges of the refurbishment light. The bottom wall of the housing, which is visible from below after installation, may form part of the lining.

It can be provided that the new lamp has a protruding from the cladding wall housing body, which is inserted into a housing opening of the old light, in particular in the reflector of the old light. The housing opening may in particular be a light exit opening of the old lamp.

In particular, it can be provided that a fastening device for the grid of the old lamp is used for securing the housing of the new lamp.

The width or length of the new luminaire is at least M - T, where M is the modular dimension and T is the width of the T-profile that supports the ceiling construction. Preferably, the width or length is at least the modular dimension. Preferably, it is not larger than M + 200 mm.

According to a preferred embodiment, the width and / or length of the refurbishment luminaire is in a range of M + 4 mm to M + 12 mm.

It may further be provided that the covering has an angled, all-round edge, which from below to one or more ceiling elements, e.g. a T-profile, a ceiling plate or the like., Is set, so that the edge of the old light is overlapped on all sides.

The height of the bent edge is advantageously below 40 mm, preferably between 6 mm and 12 mm.

A length or width of the cover frame of M + 4 mm to M + 12 mm and optionally a height of the bent edge of 6 mm to 12 mm is sufficient to cover most standard recessed ceiling lights and recessed lights or overlap their edge. This means that, unlike the prior art, the refurbishment light no longer has to be individually adapted to the luminaire to be rehabilitated in a special production. Rather, a refurbishment lamp with these dimensions can be produced in large quantities, since it is due to their dimensions for the renovation of most commercially available lights.

According to the invention, a refurbishment luminaire which has a housing section projecting over a cladding wall on its visible side, in particular a protruding reflector section, which has a light exit opening for emitting a direct-radiating light portion, can be fastened to the old luminaire.

According to a further embodiment, the cladding can be arranged above housing parts with a light exit opening, so that they do not interrupt the cladding. In particular, a cladding wall can be provided which spans such housing parts.

In the method, a lamp may be used in which a lamp and possibly a lamp associated reflector are suspended from the panel.

The invention provides according to the second aspect of the task a luminaire for refurbishment of recessed luminaires of a given module size, in particular according to one of the above-described method, available, which one or more lamp sockets and electrical components and a panel, for. B. a cladding sheet to Has covering the old light, which extends to the lateral edge of the lamp and at its lateral edge a bent edge plate for reaching over Edge of an old lamp and for attachment to a ceiling element, such as a T-profile or a ceiling plate, from below.

It can be provided that a cladding wall forms a frame having one or more light parts with one or more light exit openings, in particular reflectors of the lamp, but also z. B. a housing box which defines the light exit opening substantially completely surrounds.

It can be provided in particular that the cladding wall forms a frame for one or more light exit openings, so they are immediately limited. However, the light exit openings can also be offset from a cladding wall.

The angled edge plate may in particular have a height of 6 to 12 mm.

The luminaire according to the invention may have a reflector housing arranged essentially on the side opposite the visible side of the cladding, wherein electrical components, such as a ballast, optionally in a separate chamber, are arranged laterally of the reflector housing.

The luminaire can also have a housing part projecting on the visible side of a cladding wall, which defines one or more light exit openings for the direct radiation.

In particular, the invention can also provide that the lining has a downwardly curved wall which has one or more light exit openings in the region of the vertex of the curvature.

It can also be provided that a lamp is suspended from a cladding wall on the visible side.

It can be provided that the lamp is assigned a reflector with a facing away from the cladding wall light exit opening and the cladding wall facing the light exit opening and the cladding wall is at least partially formed as a reflector.

The cladding wall may form a diffuse, but also a directionally reflecting reflector and, for example, wholly or partially high gloss or matt or provided with a vault structure.

Fig. 1 shows a suspended ceiling construction with T-profiles 1, which are arranged at a distance M, the so-called module dimension, spaced from each other. In the ceiling, an old recessed ceiling light ("old light") 3 is mounted, which rests with a turned-over edge 5 on the cross member 7 of the T-profile 1. The housing of the old light 3 is largely gutted, d. H. all grids, reflectors, etc. are, as far as possible, removed except for the outer housing walls, so that a large inwardly directed opening 9 is formed. In this opening 9, the refurbishment lamp 11 is inserted. Your housing is connected by suitable means, such as snap-in connections, clamped connections, screws or the like. With the housing of the old light 3, so that the refurbishment lamp 11 is held on the attachment of the housing of the old light 3 to the ceiling structure.

The refurbishment luminaire 11 has a central housing box 13, in which a lamp 15, reflectors 17 and optionally further lighting elements are arranged in the usual way. The housing box 13 is open at the bottom and forms there the light exit opening 19 of the refurbishment lamp 11. The light exit opening 19 is closed on both sides to the side edges of the lamp a wide cladding panel 21 which extends on both sides to the T-profiles 1. There it has in each case an upwardly angled edge plate 23, which rests on the cross member 7 from below. The trim panel 21 forms a sort of frame around the light exit opening 19. The width B of the renovation light is greater than the modular dimension M and the width of the old lamp B a selected and the height h of the edge plate 23 is greater than the height h a of the edge 5 of Used old light 3, so that the upwardly angled edge of the refurbishment lamp 11, consisting of the cladding panel 21 and the edge plate 23, on both sides of the edge 5 of the old light 3 overlaps and thus hidden. Thus, the old light 3 is not visible below the ceiling and completely shielded for a viewer. Above the edge plate 21, a chamber 25 is laterally provided on the housing box 13, which is fixedly connected to the housing box 13 by suitable means, such as bolts, screws or the like, or by suitable methods, such as welding. The chamber 25 is concealed downwards by the edge plate 21. In the chamber 25 electrical components, such as a ballast 27 are added. Optionally, mechanical components such as grid fasteners or the like. Be included in this chamber. The arrangement of the chamber 25 laterally adjacent to the housing box 13 leads to a total low height of the refurbishment lamp 11, which allows them to be used in housings of old lights 3 with low height, without it being necessary to make room for ballasts and the like. to accomplish.

Likewise, it is not necessary to take special precautions for a possibly required exhaust air discharge. The refurbishment luminaire 11 has one or more exhaust air openings in the region 31. Since the space area 9 between the refurbishment lamp 11 and the housing wall of the old light 3 is substantially empty, an exhaust opening of the old light 3 can continue to be used for exhaust air discharge, since the exhaust air can be further sucked through the opening 31 with the existing systems.

Fig. 2 shows an embodiment of a refurbishment luminaire according to the invention for a recessed luminaire 40, which is placed from above on the T-profile 1. The same components as in Fig. 1 are provided with the same reference numerals. The refurbishment lamp 42 shown in Fig. 2 again has a frame with an upwardly angled edge, consisting of the cladding panel 21 and the edge plate 23, which completely spans the ceiling opening and extends on both sides over the edge 44 of the old lamp 40 addition , so that it is completely obscured. Again, the angled edge plate 23 is from below on the cross member 7 of the T-profile 1, in which case, however, the edge 44 of the old lamp 40 rests from above on this cross member. A housing box 46 is closed at the top by a roof plate 48 and at the bottom by a bottom plate 50, wherein the bottom plate has light exit openings 52a and 52b. The floor panel 50 may also be part of the trim panel 21, wherein the light exit openings 52 a and 52 b z. B. can be punched out of the cladding sheet 21. Above the light exit openings 52a and 52b, lamps 15 are arranged in each case, to each of which a reflector 17 having suitable exhaust air openings in the area 31 is assigned. Since the housing box 46 between the two reflectors 17 is closed down, a box for receiving electrical components as in the embodiment shown in Fig. 1 omitted. Electrical components, such as a ballast 54, may be attached to the roof panel of the housing box 46.

In the embodiment of a refurbishment luminaire 70 according to the invention shown in Fig. 3, the housing is formed by a stepped trained roof 72 on the top and a curved edge plate 74 on the bottom, which surrounds a light exit opening 76, in which a reflector 78 is inserted, in the a lamp 80 and a grid 82 are received in a conventional manner. Again, the width B of the refurbishment lamp 70 is greater than the width B a of the old lamp 84. On both sides of the edge plates 74 angled edge plates 86 are provided for supporting on the corresponding T-beam.

Fig. 3 zeigt beispielhaft, daß z. In this type of refurbishment luminaire, the actual luminaire part with the reflector 78 and the light exit opening 76 is offset downwards with respect to the ceiling plane. This type of refurbishment light is therefore particularly suitable for the refurbishment of old lights 84, in which only a relatively small volume is available for inserting a refurbishment light. It also allows for easier renovation, since the housing of the old light 84 does not need to be fully exploited. Fig. 3 shows by way of example that z. B. the lamps of the old light 84, their versions or their ballast in the housing of the old light 84 may remain.

In the refurbishment luminaire 100 shown in FIG. 4 for refurbishing an old luminaire 101, a concavely arched roof plate 102 is provided, which shows laterally angled, vertically upwardly directed edge plates 104 for supporting on the T-profile (not shown). From this roof plate, a lamp holder 108 is suspended in the middle via suitable struts 106, which carries a lamp. The electrical leads to the lamp are received in the strut 106. The lamp is surrounded by a reflector 110 having a downwardly directed light exit opening 112 and an upward light exit opening 114. The roof panel 102 is formed on its underside diffusely scattering, so that the light exiting through the light exit opening 114 upward light from the roof panel 102 is diffusely reflected down, while the direct portion of the light is emitted through the light exit opening 112. Depending on the lighting task, the roof panel 102 may also have other reflective properties and z. B. have a high gloss or have a vault structure.

Also, this light is particularly suitable because of their low height for the renovation of old lights, in which only a limited volume of space for use of the refurbishment light is available. Again, electrical or lighting components such as ballasts, lamp holders, etc., as indicated in Fig. 4, remain in the old lamp again. In extreme cases, the roof plate 102 may even be flat, so that it runs parallel to the ceiling in the assembled state, or the edge plate 104 may be pulled up so that its height h R is greater than or equal to the height h W , so that the refurbishment lamp 100 only must intervene minimally or not at all in the volume of the old light 101.
