Der Griffschenkel 1 hat seitlich hochgekantete, flanschartige Seitenwände 17, wodurch er insgesamt eine U-förmige Querschnittsform hat. Im Bereich der Befestigungsstelle des Griffschenkels 1 verbreitern sich diese Seitenwände 17, sie werden hier von nach unten abgewinkelten seitlichen Wandungen 24 des Betätigungshebels 2 übergriffen, der ebenfalls im Querschnitt gesehen U-förmig ist, jedoch ist die U-Form hier kopfstehend angeordnet. On the grip leg 1, an actuating lever 2 is mounted, which must be depressed to open the valve fitting to the handle leg 1 out. Ferner erkennt man in Figur 1 noch ein Auflaufteil 8, welches an der Seite des Signalplättchens 7 auf die Seitenwand 17 des Griffschenkels 1 aufgesetzt ist und sich dort abstützt. Am Oberende hat das Auflaufteil 8 einen ausgeformten Kopf 19 mit einer Auflaufschräge 21, die in der Einbaulage am unteren Rand des Stegs 12 anliegt, wie man Figur 6 entnimmt. Dieser Steg 12 hat die Funktion eines Anschlaggliedes für das Auflaufteil 8, und dazu ist an dem Auflaufteil 8 als Unterbegrenzung einer vorderseitigen Aussparung 20 eine Anschlagschulter 22 vorgesehen. Diese Anschlagschulter 22 fluchtet mit dem Steg bzw. Hierbei wird zunächst der Kopf 19 des Auflaufteils 8 etwas nach innen hin verdrängt, indem der Steg bzw. das Anschlagglied 12 in Eingriff mit der Auflaufschräge 21 (Fig. 5) des Auflaufteils 8 kommt. Bei weiterem Niederdrücken des Betätigungshebels 2 samt dem Abdeckteil 5 treffen die erwähnte Auflaufschräge 21 am Kopf 19 des Auflaufteils 8 und die dazu etwa parallel geneigte Auflaufschräge 23 am Rastglied 13 des Signalplättchens 7 aufeinander, wodurch das Rastglied 13 nach oben hin verschoben wird und außer Eingriff mit dem Steg 12 kommt. Durch Verdrängung über die Auflaufschrägen 21 am Auflaufteil 8 und 23 am Rastglied 13 wird das Signalplättchen 7 dann nach außen hin abgesprengt. Danach läuft der als Anschlagglied fungierende Steg 12 auf die Anschlagschulter 22 am Auflaufteil 8 auf, wodurch die erwähnte Stauchung des Auflaufteils 8 eintritt, die dazu führt, daß beim Niederdrücken des Betätigungshebels 2 in seine dem Griffschenkel 1 benachbarte Lage die Sollbruchstelle 18 des Auflaufteils 8 birst. Am Außenende der Wandung 9 des Fensters 6 (Fig. 2) gibt das herausgesprengte Signalplättchen 7 eine Signalfläche frei, die mit einer auf die Ingebrauchnahme des Feuerlöschers hinweisenden Beschriftung und einer entsprechenden Signalfarbe versehen sein kann. Sollte das Signalplättchen 7 wiedergefunden und in das Fenster 6 des Abdeckteils 5 eingesetzt werden, ist dennoch an dem zerborstenen Auflaufteil 8 erkennbar, daß der Feuerlöscher mit Niederdrücken des Betätigungshebels 2 benutzt worden ist.The function of the entire arrangement is best seen in Figure 6. Claims (8)

  1. Operating device for a portable fire extinguisher on the top of which are mounted a handle bar (1) which protrudes roughly horizontally in the useful position, and above this an actuating lever (2) which is mounted on or adjacent the inner end of the latter, wherein the actuating lever (2) in its starting position stands at an acute angle to the handle bar (1) and can be pressed down towards the handle bar (1) for the purpose of opening the valve which releases the pressurised extinguishing agent,
    characterised in that
    the actuating lever (2) has at least in the area above its connecting point (4) a fitted cover part (5) which has a window (6) mounted in a radial plane relative to its swivel axis to hold a small spring-out signal plate (7) which is mounted close to the connecting point (4) of the actuating lever (2) and which can be loaded by an abutting part (8) which is supported secured on the appliance at a distance from this connecting part, wherein when the actuating lever (2) is pressed down the abutting part (8) presses the signal plate (7) out from its holder in the window (6) of the cover part (5).
  2. Device according to claim 1,
    characterised in that
    the window (6) is closed on its inside through a wall (9) of the cover part (5) and in this wall (9) there is an opening (10) through which a detent member (13) which is formed on the inside of the signal plate (7) projects and engages behind the wall (9) whereby when the actuating lever (2) is pressed down the plate runs onto the abutting part (8) which is supported fixed on the appliance and is forced out by same from the opening (10) .
  3. Device according to claim 2,
    characterised in that
    the abutting part (8) which is supported fixed on the appliance is held between the wall (9) in the area of the window (6) of the cover part (5) and a side wall (17) of the actuating lever (2) parallel thereto.
  4. Device according to one of claims 1 to 3,
    characterised in that
    the abutting part (8) which is supported fixed on the appliance has the shape of a web which is curved in a circular shape with the radius towards the swivel axis of the actuating lever (2).
  5. Device according to one of claims 2 to 4,
    characterised in that
    tapered inclines (21, 23) are mounted on the facing sides of the detent member (13) on the signal plate (7) and of the abutting part (8) which is supported fixed on the appliance.
  6. Device according to one of claims 1 to 5,
    characterised in that
    the abutting part (8) is supported on the handle bar (1).
  7. Device according to one of claims 1 to 6,
    characterised in that
    the abutting part (8) which is supported fixed on the appliance has a stop shoulder (22) onto which a stop member (12) which swivels together with the actuating lever (2) runs prior to reaching its lower depressed end position, whereby the abutting part (8) has an ideal break point (18) which bursts when the actuating lever (2)is pressed down into the end position.
  8. Device according to claim 7,
    characterised in that
    the stop member (12) is formed from a web which defines the opening (10) in the wall (9) on the inside of the window (6) of the cover part (5) and which is engaged at the back by the detent member (13) on the signal plate (7) and which is moulded to protrude beyond the inside of the wall (9).
