Description

The invention relates to a belt buckle for a belt system with a lap belt and two shoulder belts, wherein one end of the lap belt is attached to a metal frame bordered by the lock housing and the other end of the lap belt is connected to a metallic lock tongue which can be plugged into the lock housing and can be locked to the frame via a lock that can be released manually by means of a button, while end pieces are provided for fastening the shoulder strap ends, which are plugged in alignment on a common holding part when the buckle is in the closed position.

A known buckle of this type enables the webbing end pieces to be plugged onto a common holding part, these end pieces being secured against sliding off the holding part after the lock tongue has been locked in the lock housing. Since the holding part is part of the lock frame which is essentially clad by the lock housing, it requires considerable space because it must be provided outside the actual lock housing. Furthermore, the lock housing has a mechanism consisting of a relatively large number of individual parts, with the aid of which a strap end piece is secured in a form-locking manner on the holding part. This mechanism causes correspondingly high manufacturing costs because of its individual parts, and there is a risk that the functional safety, in particular the unlocking of the belt end pieces in an emergency, is endangered due to wear of these parts. The plugging together of the belt buckle is still in need of improvement, since at least one of the plugged-on end pieces has to be particularly firmly held when the lock tongue is inserted, which leads to cumbersome handling of the belt buckle. Finally, the lock tongue can be locked even if not all of the webbing end pieces are attached to the holding part mentioned, the locking process of the lock tongue also possibly requiring additional manipulations and thus also making the lock operation difficult.

The object of the invention is to provide a belt buckle of the type mentioned in the introduction, which is further simplified in its construction, is more compact in design, is easier to operate and made safer, and is improved with regard to the latching of the buckle tongue.

The solution to this problem is based on the specified buckle and is characterized in that the belt end pieces are aligned with one another with their attachment slots in a system defined by positive locking, that the buckle tongue can be inserted from one side through the slots and that on the other Side protruding from the plug-in slots of the tongue in the housing can be locked after at least one control member provided on the belt end piece adjacent to the housing has released its locked position by adjusting a spring-loaded latch.

The structure of such a buckle is further simplified and more compact, since there is no need for a correspondingly large common holding part for the strap end pieces on the buckle housing. Instead, the end pieces sit on a relatively short section of the lock tongue. The operation, in particular the plugging together of the lock, is simplified in that the strap end pieces are first coupled together and thus plugged onto the lock tongue, which is then locked and locked with the rest of the lock, which can be carried out easily and quickly overall. wherein the interconnected end pieces and the lock tongue can be easily held and guided by hand during the latching process. The locking of the lock tongue in the rest of the lock is designed to be safer in that the tongue cannot be easily or lightly brought into its locked position, but this is only possible after the locking position has been released by a bolt. However, this is only activated when both webbing end pieces are seated in the correct position on the tongue, since one of the end pieces has the control element adjusting the bolt. Further advantageous features of the invention result from the preferred embodiment according to the subclaims.

The invention is explained below with reference to an embodiment shown in the accompanying drawings. The drawings show in a schematic representation:
  • FIG. 1 shows a top view of the embodiment shown essentially exploded,
  • FIG. 2 shows a top view of the assembled embodiment with the lock housing missing,
  • FIG. 3 shows the two belt end pieces in supervision before they are joined together,
  • FIG. 4 shows a section along the line IV-IV in FIG. 3,
  • FIG. 5 shows an assembled buckle in a partially sectioned illustration,
  • FIG. 6 shows the partially longitudinally cut belt buckle shortly before the latch tongue snaps into place,
  • 7 shows the partially longitudinally cut belt buckle after the latch tongue has engaged.

According to Figure 1, the belt buckle shown consists of the lock housing 1, which contains the usual locking and release mechanism inside, which is explained in more detail below, from the lock tongue 2 and at least from the two end pieces 3 and 4 for attachment to the ends 5 of not further illustrated Shoulder straps. The end pieces 3 and 4, which are preferably made entirely of plastic, have two arms 6 and 7 facing the buckle parts 1 and 2 in addition to the usual areas for fastening the sling belts, each arm having a slot 8 and 9, respectively. These slots are aligned with one another when the arms 6, 7 are brought into abutment against one another in their predetermined operating position, as can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2. The lock tongue 2 is inserted through these slots, the two arms 6, 7 then coming to rest on the section 2a of the tongue 2. The section 2b of the tongue 2 extends in the usual way into the lock housing 1 and engages in it. 2 shows how the arms 6 and 7 sit on the section 2a, the section 2b of the tongue 2 protruding on the other side of the slots, so that this section can be inserted into the lock housing 1. In addition to section 2a, the lock tongue 2 is known in its remaining structure, so that it need not be explained further.

The section 2a of the lock tongue 2 is tapered according to FIG. 1 in the plug-on direction of the tongue, and this is likewise the case with the plug-in slots 8 and 9 of the arms 6 and 7, respectively. This avoids that the lock tongue 2 can be locked in the lock housing 1 with only one end piece plugged in or with the end piece fitted incorrectly. Should the case occur that the end piece 4 is only plugged onto the section 2a, then ultimately the lock tongue 2 cannot be locked, since due to the play between the section 2a and the insertion slot 9 of the arm 7 this arm is still pushed back as far that the control elements 10 provided on the housing side thereof cannot yet become fully effective, so that a latching of the tongue section 2b cannot be achieved.

As can be seen more clearly from FIGS. 3 and 4, the arm 6 of the one webbing end piece 3 is provided with a web 11 which extends sideways from the arm 6 and according to FIGS. 1 and 2 over the arm 7 of the other end piece 4 . This web 11 is provided with a projection 12 which positively engages in a corresponding recess 13 in the arm 7 of the other end piece 4. The web 11 and the projection 12 provided on it and the recess 13 extend — seen in the insertion direction of the lock tongue 2 — transversely to the tongue and are at a distance from it.

Before the end pieces 3 and 4 are attached to the section 2a of the lap tongue 2, the arms 6 and 7 are first brought into abutment against one another in such a way that the projection 12 engages in the recess 13, as a result of which the plug-in slots 8 and 9 are brought into alignment with one another . The end pieces 3 and 4 which are coupled to one another in this way can now easily be pushed together onto the section 2a of the lock tongue 2. The attached state is shown in Figure 2.

Although it has proven to be advantageous that the projection 12 and the recess 13 are designed in the form of a tongue and groove design, other form-fitting designs can also be used, e.g. B. a pin which engages in a corresponding recess. Furthermore, it is also possible that the projecting positive locking means is provided on the arm 7 and the receiving positive locking means is provided on the arm 6.

As already mentioned, the arm 7 of the belt end piece 4 has two projecting control members 10. When the lock tongue 2 is inserted into the lock housing 1, these control elements come to rest against the two legs 14a of a U-shaped bolt 14, which is preferably made of plastic, and press the bolt back, as can be seen from FIGS. 5 and 6. In the web area 14b, the bolt 14 preferably has two locking lugs 15, which extend in the direction of the insertion slot of the lock housing 1, in the locked position of the bolt 14 to such an extent that they block the entrance to the locking position of the lock tongue 2, as best shown in FIG 6 can be seen. This has the consequence that the latching web 2c of the lock tongue 2 cannot get into its latched position, which is defined by the usual metallic frame 16 and its latching cams 16a. If the lock tongue together with the arms 6 and 7 is now pressed further into the lock housing 1, the bolt 14 is pushed into its release position according to FIG. 7 by means of the control elements 10. During this movement, at the same time an angular hold-down device 17 which is pivotably mounted on the frame 16 is pivoted back against the force of a spring, not shown, so that the web 2c of the lock tongue 2 can now reach its latched position. In this position, the hold-down device 17 is pivoted back by the spring mentioned and causes the lock tongue 2 to lock in the lock housing 1.

The procedure for unlocking the lock tongue 2 and thus also the belt end pieces 3 and 4 is as follows. In a conventional manner, a button 18 is depressed by finger pressure, whereby the angular hold-down device 17 is pivoted back against the force of a spring, not shown, so that the web 2c of the lock tongue 2 is released and can be ejected. For this purpose, an integrated, tongue-like auxiliary spring 19, preferably made of the material of the lock housing 1, is provided, which extends through a corresponding recess 20 in the frame 16 and bears against the web 2c of the tongue 2. This auxiliary spring causes the lock tongue to be reliably ejected from its latched position, the hold-down device 17, which again swivels forward, finally ejects the lock tongue from the housing 1. At the same time, the bolt 14 is also pushed back into its blocking position which can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 6 by means of a spring 21.

In the embodiment described above For example, two webbing end pieces 3 and 4 are used, which are attached to the ends of shoulder straps. In a further development it can also be done that a crotch strap is provided with an end piece which also has an arm which is then pushed together with the arms 6 and 7 of the end pieces 3 and 4 onto the correspondingly longer section 2a of the lock tongue 2. Such a buckle is also compact and light in structure, easy to use and also functionally reliable. The rest of the structure of the buckle in this case is as described above, and it should also be mentioned that the ends of the lap belt are fastened to the buckle tongue and the buckle housing in the usual way.
