Definitions
- the solution makes use of the knowledge that the human eye perceives intensity changes of an optical display more than a static display.
- the perception of a particular message is thus dependent not only on the light intensity with which a light source shines, but also on how much the message display differs from its surroundings.
- a driver's attention to a particular message can be significantly increased by the fact that this message is flashing from the other messages.
- Increasing the visibility of a message becomes all the more important the more control lights are provided, each of which must stand out in a specific way to achieve its signal effect.
- there may well be thirty and more pilot lights so it is important to find a solution to highlight a single message in the tide of all messages flowing to the driver.
- control unit which controls the operating current of the light-emitting diode briefly raises the operating current of the light-emitting diode over the other level of the operating current to increase the signal effect of the message.
- This mode of operation of a light emitting diode is realized in light emitting diodes which are continuously energized and thus permanently lit.
- resistors 7 and 8 are dimensioned so that in normal operation, the current through the light emitting diodes 3 and 4, the current through the light emitting diodes 1 and 2, which are not provided for an amplification of their signal effect corresponds.
- the voltage level UL at the anode of the LEDs 3 and 4 is raised to the level of the operating voltage UB by the functional element 13, the current path between the line for the the circuit supplying operating voltage UB and the anode of the light emitting diodes 3 and 4 switches through virtually unrestricted. Then flows through the LEDs 3 and 4, a normal state increased current, which in turn leads to a greater light intensity in the LEDs 3 and 4 respectively.
