Description

The present invention relates to a set of spin and compaction of grinding food waste, if applicable with the addition of water.

In the context of professional kitchens, a problem important issue with regard to the treatment of waste food. The volume of these wastes and their handling involve large storage areas and high costs. This waste can come from "upstream", that is to say from the preparation of foodstuffs (vegetable, meat preparation, etc.) than from the "downstream", after consumption by the customer, especially when returning meal trays when it comes to self-service catering. These problems meet both in commercial catering and in communities (hospital, school, army, etc.).

  • à broyer les déchets (déchets alimentaires auxquels s'ajoutent parfois quelques éléments autres tels que serviettes en papier, pots et couverts en plastique, etc.) au moyen d'un broyeur également appelé pulpeur;
Facilities have been created to improve this treatment of food waste. We thus know a system developed by the plaintiff and marketed under the name "MT COMPACT". This system implements a liquid waste treatment process (called "TDL") which consists of:
  • grinding the waste (food waste to which are sometimes added some other elements such as paper towels, pots and plastic cutlery, etc.) by means of a mill also called pulper;
  • to transfer the crushed waste to a wiper screw which can be directly associated with the crusher or, where the configuration of the site allows it, be located away from the crusher in a special waste area (garbage room); in the latter case, the transfer between the mill and the screw is provided by a pump, clear water being fed into the mill or in a waste recovery bowl before grinding; to achieve savings of clear water, a portion of the spin water at the screw outlet, can be returned to the mill or the bowl; and
  • spinning and compacting the waste by the screw, the dewatered and compacted waste being discharged by a chute; in general, at least 80% of the water can be removed and the waste is almost dry and its volume is reduced in a ratio of 6: 1.

The problem of cleaning up such a system is important, given the nature of the waste, especially since certain establishments (especially school canteens) do not work permanently (weekends, holidays, etc.). Indeed, waste residues that subsist in the system result in bacterial growth that is unacceptable for hygiene and also intolerable from the point of view odour. In this regard, the critical point of cleaning is at the level of the screw which retains on the order of 1 to 2 kgs of waste at the end of operation, a important part by adherence on the turns of the screw.

The means used so far to try to remedy this problem consists of:
  • in the injection of bacteriostatic products during the treatment, in order to avoid any bacterial proliferation,
  • in disassembly of the screw for cleaning the screw outside the system; in this case, it is necessary to open the housing of the screw and to deposit it. This operation is laborious and painful and it is generally necessary to make the plastic screw to reduce the weight, it detracts from its robustness.

The present invention relates to a set of spin and compacting food waste with a cleaning screw system simple and easy.

The spin and compaction assembly according to the invention for food waste which has been crushed, includes a screw which is rotatably mounted in a screen inside a housing and which, in a substantially vertical working position, is rotated around its axis to receive waste at the bottom, convey them from bottom to top, squeezing them out and rejecting them at the top in the wrung state. The screw, the housing and the sieve are combined into a module mounted movable between the substantially vertical working position and a cleaning position substantially horizontal. The housing is opening so as to allow access to the screw in the cleaning position.

Preferably, the system for rotating the screw is stationary and located at the lower end of the screw being working position.

The screw and the system for rotating the screw preferably have automatic coupling and disconnection designed to ensure coupling at the end of the movement of the screw / housing / sieve module from the cleaning position to the working position and uncoupling at the beginning of the movement of the module from the working position to the cleaning position.

Means of coupling and uncoupling advantageously comprise male and female interlocking parts complementary shapes.

According to a preferred embodiment, the mounting means and displacement of the screw / housing / screen module are designed to impose an upward translational motion followed by a pivoting movement when moving from the working position to the cleaning position, and a pivoting movement followed by a axial translation movement downwards when passing the position cleaning at the working position.

According to a preferred embodiment, the housing of the screw includes a bowl-shaped stationary bottom section that does not part of the movable module and which recovers the water of spin, and a movable upper section which is part of said module, said section upper housing being open.

This opening upper section of the housing is advantageously divided parallel to the axis of the screw in a lower part forming a trough which, when the module is in the cleaning position, surrounds the screw at the bottom, and at a high part forming a lid which, when the module is in the cleaning position, covers the screw at the top and closes the trough portion.

Preferably, the lid portion is hinged to the trough portion on one of its longitudinal edges and can be secured to the trough portion, with a view to closing the housing, by quick closing means, for example of the toggle type.

The sieve can be advantageously divided parallel to the axis of the two-part screw, one of which can be opened, in the cleaning, to give access to the screw, after opening the housing.

Preferably, the lid portion may comprise means for keeping the sieve closed around the screw in the closed position crankcase.

The spin and compaction assembly as illustrated by the drawings, is integrated into a waste treatment facility foodstuffs which are recognized in Figures 1 to 3 the frame 1 and the grinder or pulper 2 which receives the food waste to be treated. The resulting pulp grinding waste is sent out of the mill 2 directly to a set of 3 spinning and compaction.

As it appears in FIG. 3 and especially in FIGS. 5, the assembly 3 essentially comprises a screw / sump / sieve module 4 comprising a screw 5, a housing 6 and a screen 7, a drive system 8 for the screw 5, whose output axis 8a is slightly inclined, for example 15 °, compared to the vertical, a bowl 9 of water recovery of spin, which overcomes the drive system 8, and a pump 10 of recycling the drain water recovered in the bowl 9.

While the mill 2, the drive system 8, the bowl 9 and the recycling pump 10 are mounted in stationary position on the frame 1, the screw / caster / sieve module 4 is mounted on the frame 1 by through a system 11 for support and guidance.

The support and guidance system 11 of module 4 is designed to module 4 can be brought from a working position according to FIGS. 1 and 4 in which, the axis of the screw 5 being aligned with the axis of 8a output of the drive system 8, the screw 5 is lowered, so that the lower end of the screw 5 is engaged with the output of the training system 8 (see Figure 4), through a position intermediate according to FIGS. 2 and 5, in which the axis of the screw 5 is is always aligned with the output axis 8a of the drive system 8, but the screw 5 is raised so that the lower end of the screw 5 is released from the output of the drive system 8, at a position according to FIG. 3, by tilting the module 4 by 90 ° by relative to the intermediate position.

It is apparent from Figures 1 to 3 that the system 11 includes a slide 12 on a console 13 secured to the bowl 9, a slide 14 on a console 15 which is integral with the housing 6 and is articulated by an axis 16 on a guide 17 parallel to the axis 8a, a lever 18 for locking in the position of work and a gas cylinder 19 which assists the movements of module 4 in balancing the mass of the latter, as is well known, by example, for rags or hoods of motor vehicles.

As shown more particularly in FIGS. 4 and 5, the drive end of the screw 5 is not surrounded by the sieve 7. In working position according to Figure 4, it is in a housing part 20 which is located between the bottom of the bowl 9 and the drive system 8, and in which opens the tubing 21 for supplying pulp from of the crusher 2. The output of the drive system 8 is constituted by a shaft end 22 extended by a male part or coupling head 23 polygonal, for example hexagonal. The screw 5 has at its end of training, a coupling part 24 of corresponding shape, in this case a polygonal female part.

In the working position according to Figures 1 and 4, both coupling parts 23 and 24 are interlocked into each other, while that in the position according to Figures 2 and 5 which is the position intermediate between the working position and the cleaning position, the coupling parts 23 and 24 are disembodied, due to the displacement of the module 4, therefore of the screw 5, in translation upwards with respect to the driving system 8.

En se référant aux figures 6 à 8, on va décrire ci-après plus en détail la structure du module vis/carter/tamis 4.Referring to FIGS. 6 to 8, the following will be described more in detail the structure of the screw / sump / sieve module 4.

The module 4 comprises a casing 6 of general shape parallelepiped, of length less than the length of the screw 5 and composed of a housing base 25 and a cover 26. The cover 26 is articulated on the housing bottom 25 on one of its longitudinal edges by hinges 27. On the side opposite the hinges 27, the housing base 25 door closure systems 28 of the latch-type cooperating with hooks 29 on the lid 26.

The housing bottom 25 has internally, on both sides longitudinal, supports 31, 32 for the sieve 7. The sieve 7, shaped cylindrical, is divided into two halves of sieves 33, 34 semi-cylindrical. The bottom sieve half 33 rests on the supports 31 and 32, while that the upper sieve half 34 is articulated by a hinge 35 on the support 31, on the hinge side 27 of the lid 26. The latter comprises, on its lower face, a holding tab 36 which, in position closed lid 26, blocks the upper half of the screen 34 on the lower sieve half 33, as shown in FIG. thus keep the sieve 7 closed around the screw 5.

To access the screw 5, in the cleaning position, it is sufficient to open the lid 26 by pivoting around the hinges 27 and rotate up half of upper sieve 34 around the hinge 35, according to Figure 7. It is then possible to clean the screw 5 (and the sieve 7) in the housing 6, for example by water jet, or to remove the screw 5 to clean it apart.

It can be seen from FIG. 8 that the two screen halves 33, 34 are mounted on the supports 31, 32 by means of two sets of screws 37, 38. therefore, in the cleaning position, the lid 26 being open, to remove the screw 37, 38 to be able to completely disassemble the two halves of sieves 33, 34 for cleaning outside the housing 6.

It goes without saying that the embodiment shown and described has been given as an illustrative and non-limiting example and that many modifications and variations are possible within the scope of the invention.

Thus, the screw / sump / sieve module 4 could have, for example, a vertical working position and a horizontal cleaning position. However, the inclination of the module 4 relative to the vertical position working position and relative to the horizontal in the cleaning position, the advantage of facilitating on the one hand the flow of the wring water into the bowl 9, in working position, and on the other hand the flow of water from cleaning, in cleaning position according to Figure 3, by the chute 39 provided at the free end of module 4 for the purpose of discharging waste dewatered and compacted in working position according to Figure 1.

The coupling parts 23, 24 between the screw 5 and its system 8 could be replaced by different means assuming the same function, namely a coupling and a automatic disconnection, by an axial translation movement of the screw.

The passage of module 4 from the working position to the position of cleaning, and conversely, by a translation movement and a pivoting movement of ± 90 °, does not require excessive forces, especially because of the assistance of these movements by the jack 19, this even when the screw 5 is relatively heavy, as is the case for a metal screw.
