Description

La présente invention est relative aux projectiles pyrotechniques destinés à obtenir des chiffres, des lettres ou un motif quelconque dans le ciel par un moyen pyrotechnique.
Depuis quelques années se sont répandues dans le monde de la pyrotechnie et des feux d'artifices en particulier, des bombes qui représentent des motifs.
Le plus courant de ces motifs est le cercle, mais d'autres motifs tels que triangles, plusieurs cercles, chiffres ou autres formes sont également possibles.
La méthode utilisée pour réaliser ces motifs consiste à ranger des étoiles dans un corps de bombe dans la même disposition que le motif lui-même.
Ces étoiles sont des agglomérats réalisés à partir d'une composition pyrotechnique qui brûle avec une couleur de flamme caractéristique de la formulation employée.
Au moment de l'explosion de la bombe, les étoiles sont allumées et dispersées dans l'atmosphère et vont représenter le motif souhaité par plusieurs points lumineux, chaque point étant réalisé par une étoile.
Pour réaliser un motif dont le contour serait continu, il faut utiliser des étoiles de très petites tailles afin d'en introduire un grand nombre dans la bombe.
Cette solution est pratiquement impossible à réaliser car il devient très difficile de les allumer. En outre, si cela était possible, la durée de combustion serait tellement courte que le motif échapperait la plupart du temps à la vigilance des spectateurs.
Le document US-A-5 423 264 concerne un projectile pyrotechnique dont le corps contient une charge d'éclatement placée dans un tube fermé par un bouchon, et une charge combustible placée autour de tube et au-dessus du bouchon. Le corps du projectile pyrotechnique est lui-même en composition pyrotechnique et peut avoir une forme extérieure à tête cubique, en étoile, sphérique ou en ogive.
L'invention vise à remédier aux inconvénients de la technique connue en créant un projectile pyrotechnique qui soit capable de réaliser dans le ciel un motif de contour continu qui soit visible pendant un temps suffisamment long pour être observé par des spectateurs.
Elle a donc pour objet un projectile pyrotechnique comprenant un corps contenant une charge d'éclatement et une charge combustible dont l'allumage et la dispersion sont assurés par l'explosion de la charge d'éclatement, caractérisé en ce que la charge combustible est formée par une poudre métallique combustible avec l'oxygène de l'air, disposée au sein de la charge d'éclatement selon un motif correspondant à la forme du motif d'artifice à obtenir dans le ciel.
L'invention sera mieux comprise à l'aide de la description qui va suivre, donnée uniquement à titre d'exemple et faite en se référant aux dessins annexés, sur lesquels :
  • la Fig.1 est une vue en perspective avec arrachement partiel du projectile pyrotechnique suivant l'invention;
  • la Fig.2 est une vue en coupe axiale du projectile pyrotechnique de la figure 1;
  • la Fig.3 est une vue en coupe à plus grande échelle suivant la ligne 3-3 de la figure 2, montrant une charge combustible formée de métal en poudre agglomérée disposée dans la charge d'éclatement et constituant la réplique du motif à obtenir dans le ciel; et
  • la Fig.4 est une vue en coupe analogue à celle de la figure 3, représentant une charge combustible formée de particules métalliques agglomérées destinée à l'obtention d'un autre motif dans le ciel.
Le projectile pyrotechnique représenté à la figure 1, comprend un corps 1 en matière plastique comprenant une tête 2 et auquel est associée une jupe 3 formant empennage.
Dans le corps 1 est logée une charge d'éclatement 4 constituée par exemple de poudre noire, au sein de laquelle est disposée une charge combustible 5 qui, dans le présent exemple est formée de particules de métal telles que du titane agglomérées.
Le bloc 5 de particules métalliques agglomérées présente ainsi qu'on le voit également à la figure 3, une forme correspondant à la forme du motif d'artifice à obtenir dans le ciel.
Dans le cas présent, il s'agit de la forme stylisée du chiffre 2.
Suivant un mode de réalisation préféré de l'invention, on utilise comme poudre métallique de la poudre de titane éponge dont la granulométrie est supérieure à 500µ.
Il est cependant possible d'utiliser un autre métal tel que de l'aluminium, du magnésium ou tout autre composé à structure métallique, pourvu que la forme et la taille de ces particules lui confèrent une aptitude à brûler avec l'oxygène de l'air.
Par ailleurs, les particules de métal, au lieu d'être agglomérées, peuvent être disposées au sein de la charge d'éclatement sous la forme de poudre divisée, formant la réplique du motif à obtenir dans le ciel.
Le nombre de particules présent dans 1 gramme de poudre de particules métalliques utilisées est de plusieurs milliers de particules.
Ceci constitue un avantage substantiel par rapport au procédé de l'état de la technique, car les motifs obtenus avec des étoiles sont composés de quelques dizaines de points, généralement moins de 50.
Le corps 1 est fermé par un couvercle 6 sur lequel est monté un conteneur 7 de forme tronconique et qui définit la tête du projectile.
Ainsi, le couvercle 6 forme la base du conteneur 7.
Dans le conteneur 7 est disposée une masse 8 de poudre métallique de forte densité par exemple de la poudre de fer, destinée à alourdir la tête du projectile et à déplacer son centre de gravité vers l'avant.
Comme représenté à la figure 2, le corps 1 comporte un manchon tubulaire axial 9, venu de matière avec son fond 10 et dans lequel est disposée une composition de retard pyrotechnique 11.
Le manchon 9 débouche au centre de la jupe 3 formant empennage.
Dans la jupe 3 sont ménagées des ouvertures allongées 12 de maintien de la trajectoire du projectile après son lancement.
Le corps tubulaire 1, la jupe 3, le couvercle 6 du corps 1 et le conteneur 7 formant le nez du projectile sont réalisés en matière plastique par exemple en polystyrène et fixés entre eux par collage.
La jupe 3 est réalisée de façon à présenter une résistance suffisante pour ne pas être détruite par le lanceur du projectile, mais assez fragile pour être réduite, comme le reste de l'enveloppe du projectile, en morceaux de petite taille au moment de l'explosion de l'engin.
La charge d'éclatement 4 a trois fonctions, elle provoque l'explosion de l'engin, et disperse les particules de titane de la charge combustible 5. En outre elle assure le maintien du motif représenté par la charge éclairante en position dans le corps 1.
Le retard pyrotechnique est un retard de l'ordre de 2 secondes qui est allumé au départ du projectile et qui transmet le feu à l'intérieur du corps 1 de celui-ci lorsqu'il atteint le point de sa trajectoire auquel son éclatement doit avoir lieu.
Lors de l'explosion de la charge d'éclatement 4 allumée par le retard pyrotechnique 11, il y a destruction du corps 1, du nez 2 et de la jupe 3 en matière plastique, dispersion des particules agglomérées de la charge combustible et dispersion de la masse de poudre de fer 8 qui retombe sans provoquer le moindre risque de détérioration d'objets ou de blessures de personne.
La dispersion des particules de titane de la charge combustible permet d'obtenir dans le ciel, le motif d'artifice dont le bloc aggloméré des particules de titane contenues dans le projectile pyrotechnique est la réplique exacte.
Le grand nombre de particules comprimées dans le bloc aggloméré assure l'obtention dans le ciel d'un motif de contour ayant pour le spectateur un aspect continu.
Il est également possible grâce à l'invention d'obtenir la représentation de motifs de toute forme.
A la figure 3, le motif représenté par le bloc aggloméré 5 est un 2 stylisé.
Sur la figure 4, qui est une coupe du projectile pyrotechnique suivant l'invention analogue à celle de la figure 3, mais dans laquelle le bloc aggloméré est constitué par un cercle 5a, ce cercle, après explosion du projectile pyrotechnique qui le contient, permet d'obtenir dans l'air, un cercle de forme correspondante.

Claims (5)

  1. Projectile pyrotechnique comprenant un corps contenant une charge d'éclatement (4) et une charge combustible (5) dont l'allumage et la dispersion sont assurés par l'explosion de la charge d'éclatement (4), caractérisé en ce que la charge combustible (5) est formée par une poudre métallique combustible avec l'oxygène de l'air, disposée au sein de la charge d'éclatement (4) selon un motif correspondant à la forme du motif d'artifice à obtenir dans le ciel.
  2. Projectile pyrotechnique suivant la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la charge combustible (5) est formée par un bloc de particules métalliques agglomérées.
  3. Projectile pyrotechnique suivant l'une des revendications 1 et 2, caractérisé en ce que la poudre métallique est une poudre de titane.
  4. Projectile pyrotechnique suivant la revendication 3, caractérisé en ce que la granulométrie de la poudre de titane est supérieure à 500µ.
  5. Projectile pyrotechnique suivant l'une des revendications 1 à 4 , caractérisé en ce que la poudre métallique est une poudre d'aluminium ou de magnésium.
