Der dynamische Signalanteil wird in bekannter Weise von einer in der Mikroprozessor-Steuerung integrierten Auswerteschaltung (A) ausgefiltert und zur Sensierung des Schaumaufkommens im Laugenbehälter (1) herangezogen. Daneben kann das Waschprogramm hinsichtlich seiner Länge und die Spülgänge hinsichtlich ihrer Dauer, Anzahl und/oder der verwendeten Spülwassermenge an das vermehrte Schaumaufkommen angepaßt werden.
