Abstract

The invention concerns a cardboard container characterised in that it comprises lining panels (501 and 502) of substantially the same surface area as the side walls (109 and 110), designed to be located opposite said side walls (109 and 110) parallel thereto, and integral with the closing panel (140) by one of their edges and either with a wall (107-109-110) adjacent to the base (106), or with a fixing flap (142) integral with the closing panel (140), or with both these elements, via a bellows (503) formed by at least two tabs (504-505-506, 515-516) mutually linked by a folding line.

Description

The present invention relates to containers delivered flat in the form of blanks partially glued, from which it is possible to obtain a complete box in volume, without calling to separate fastening and closing members of the blank.

It is possible to make extremely effective the protection of the side walls of a container, including a box for postal items, by doubling panels, which reinforces the strength of the container already provided with lateral protective edges.

Known containers are generally inconvenient because their volume requires complex manipulations and the placement of objects is made difficult by the fact that the container itself does not stand by itself for filling, the user being obliged to maintain it at the same time as he grasps the objects to be packaged.

Thus we know US 4 396 118 which describes a container which comprises reinforcing panels (or "lining") 39 which are secured by only one of their edges to a closure panel 19. It is therefore materially possible that at least one of them deforms by "yawning" by one of its edges which is not held, thus allowing part of the content to escape, accidentally or by deliberate fraudulent action , which is incompatible with the desired tamper-evident closure.

To overcome these drawbacks, containers have already been provided with effect adhesive. extended to specific locations, so that the user only has to unmask this adhesive to join certain components of the container, which keeps the container in volume, at least in part, the user thus finding the freedom of his hands to pack properly the items to be shipped.

However, there is a demand for containers having all these qualities of convenience without however use adhesive, due to industrial requirements ensuring the implementation place the adhesive.

The present invention satisfies these requirements, by making it possible to produce a container that is very convenient, economical and particularly robust, with or without long-lasting adhesive.

The invention relates to a container which is placed in volume only when it is to be filled. objects to be wrapped. This container is erected from a blank delivered flat and obtained from a suitably cut blank, marked with fold lines and fitted with glue certain places for fixing certain parts together.

As is already known, the preliminary phase, known from the skilled person, for the constitution of a draft, so that Figure 1 shows the blank already prepared for shipment flat for later use.

This blank has a base 106 intended to receive the objects to be packaged, two adjacent walls transverse 107 and 108, as well as two adjacent lateral walls 109 and 110.

The container also has separate elements 113 and 114, which do not belong to the base 106, neither to the transverse wall 108, nor to the lateral walls 109 and 110. These separate elements are substantially quadrangular and divided into two triangular legs 124-125 and 126-127 by pre-folding lines 117 and 118.

The legs 125 and 127 are glued to the inner face of the transverse wall 108 and we describe further the interest of this structure.

Furthermore, the container has two lining panels 501 and 502 which have substantially the same surface as the side walls 109 and 110 and which are each connected to one of these side walls 109 - 110 by a bellows 503 here comprising two triangular legs 504 and 505 on either side of a central trapezoidal leg 506, all three determined by fold lines.

In this way, when the side walls 109 and 110 are lifted according to the arrows F4, the righting movement is partly transmitted to the lining panels 501 and 502, this which initiates their lifting which will be completed by the user according to the arrows F10.

To volume the blank of Figure 1, first remove a protective tape 131 placed on long-acting adhesive 130 arranged in a continuous line extending over the entire width of the transverse end wall 108 and on the separate elements 113 and 114.

The side walls 109 and 110 are then raised according to the arrows F4, which has the effect of lift the wall 108 according to arrow F2, by gluing the triangular lugs 125 and 127 on the wall 108.

The triangular tabs 124-126 and the wall 108 are firmly clamped, which has the effect of keep the walls 108, 109 and 110 upright in the active position. Here, the active position is a final position due to the irreversible action of the long-acting adhesive.

We can then place the objects to be packed on the base 106 using both hands since it there is no need to maintain anything from the container that is stable on its own.

We then lift the lining panels 501 and 502 according to arrows F10, then we lift the closure panel 140 and its fixing flap 142 to drive them into the position of Figure 3, guiding the lining panels 501 and 502 outside the side walls 109 and 110 against which these panels 501 and 502 are placed externally.

These panels 501 and 502 remain pressed against the side walls 109 and 110, without them can be discarded accidentally, thanks to the fact that they are integral with one part of the closure panel 140 and on the other side of the adjacent side wall 109-110 by through the bellows 503.

The fixing flap 142 is firmly applied against the transverse wall 108 so that it firmly attaches to the long-acting adhesive 130 unmasked when removing its tape protection 131.

It is closed by means of a locking tab 510 engaged in a slot 511 formed at the base of the transverse wall 108, which avoids the danger of the flap taking off 142 because the locking tab 510 neutralizes the take-off force due to the elasticity of the cardboard since thus the tab 510 integral with the flap 142 is blocked in the slot 511 of the wall 108 and retains the flap in the position in which it is applied against the long-acting adhesive 130.

The finished container then appears as shown schematically in Figure 4 and we see that the side walls 109 and 110 are set back relative to the edges side 165 and 166, these being clearly visible from the outside and capable of playing directly their role of protection against shocks due to handling during transport of the container.

If the container is prepaid, all that remains is to apply a destination label to it and to send it, without any other operation of gluing, stapling, tying a link or the like.

Referring now to Figures 5 to 8, we see a variant of the embodiment previous, that long-lasting adhesive 130 and its protective tape 131 are arranged on the blank no longer transversely but longitudinally.

By placing the long-acting adhesive 130 transversely, as is the case with the embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 4, there is the advantage of placing only one ribbon continuous which is used both for keeping the walls 108, 109 and 110 upright and for closing the containing by the panel 140 and its flap 142.

On the other hand, this has the disadvantage that the adhesive 130 and its tape 131 must be applied to the blank, before making the blank of FIG. 1, on the face opposite to that on which is applied glue, on the one hand for fixing the separate elements 113 and 114, and secondly for fixing, after folding, side edges 165 and 166, very useful for protect the container and its contents from damage due to falls and knocks during the transport.

It is easy to understand that these deposits of glue and adhesive on two opposite sides constitute a desirable complication to eliminate.

Here, the long-acting adhesive 130 and its protective tape 131 are arranged after formation. of the blank of FIG. 5, along four segments aligned two by two.

Two segments are placed on the separate elements 113 and 114 and two others on the panel fixing 142.

To volume the container, first remove the protective tape 131 from the two adhesive segments 130 located on the separate elements 113 and 114, then act as previously, that is to say that the transverse walls 109 and 110 are straightened as well as the transverse wall 108 then they are kept upright thanks to the adhesive 130 which joins the legs triangular 124-126 (integral with walls 109 and 110) with triangular legs 125-127 integral with the wall 108 (Figures 6 and 7).

After placing the objects to be packaged on the base 106, the protective tape 131 is removed of the two segments of long-acting adhesive disposed on the fixing flap 142, the closure panel 140 and its flap 142 according to arrow F11, while guiding the panels lining against the outer face of the side walls 109 and 110 (Figure 7).

After the closure panel 140 has been put in place, the flap 142 is applied against the transverse wall 108 to which it is fixed by the two segments of adhesive 130.

Comme précédemment, on assure la fermeture au moyen de la patte 510 engagée dans la fente 511de la paroi transversale 108.As before, the closure is ensured by means of the tab 510 engaged in the slot 511 of the transverse wall 108.

We have shown here only two segments of adhesive 130 on the fixing panel 142 but it it goes without saying that we can have more, especially three by providing a central segment (not shown) near tab 510.

This reinforces the attachment of the flap 142 to the wall 108, which may prove necessary when the container has a large width.

Sur les figures 9 à 13, on a représenté un mode de réalisation selon lequel le contenant présente un couvercle coiffant formé par l'assujettissement des panneaux de doublage 501 et 502 au volet de fixation 142 par des pattes 203 et 204 solidaires du volet de fixation 142 et collées à l'intérieur des panneaux de doublage 501 et 502.In Figures 9 to 13, there is shown an embodiment according to which the container has a covering lid formed by the securing of the lining panels 501 and 502 to the fixing flap 142 by lugs 203 and 204 integral with the fixing flap 142 and glued inside the lining panels 501 and 502.

In order for the assembly to be stored flat, according to the blank of FIG. 9, the shutter of fixing 142 is folded along two oblique lines at 45 ° determining two triangular flaps 209 and 210.

We observe that the outer protective edges 165 and 166 are only present opposite transverse walls 109 and 110 and bellows 503.

The oblique line which connects the triangular legs 504 and 506 together, as well as the line of folding which connects the lining panels 501 and 502 to the legs 504, converge and extend to the edge of the blank, that is to say beyond the outer protective edges 165 and 166.

This has the consequence that after folding down the cover 140-142-203-204-501-502 (Figures 11 and 12) the lining panels 501 and 502 are always parallel to the side walls 109 and 110, outside of these, but being separated from them according to a distance D substantially equal to the width L of the flanges 165 and 166 (Figure 13).

The walls 109 and 110 as well as the edges 165 and 166 are hidden by the panels of doubling 501 and 502, which gives the finished container (figure 12) the external appearance a parallelepiped container, without protective edges.

In fact, the protective edges 165 and 166 are present at the edge of the transverse walls 107 and 108 as well as facing the bottom 106, so that the side walls 109 and 110 are effectively protected from shocks and other external constraints.

But, in addition, the lining panels 501 and 502 are integral with the container according to three sides: with the transverse 107 and lateral 109-110 walls (by the bellows 503), with the closure panel 140 which they hold to manufacture, and with the fixing flap 142 by the glued legs 203 and 204. This structure gives it great rigidity and, therefore, a good resistance to sinking.

In addition, the lining panels 501 and 502 placed outside the side walls 109 and 110 cannot be accidentally lifted.

The protective edges being hidden, they can no longer, accidentally, constitute hooking elements when handling the container.

Avec ce mode de réalisation, on constate qu'il est possible de positionner le lien d'ouverture 195 non plus sur la face intérieure du volet de fixation 142 mais de part en part, depuis un bord libre du panneau de doublage 501 jusqu'au bord libre opposé du volet de doublage 502 et en travers du panneau de fermeture 140 (figure 10).With this embodiment, it can be seen that it is possible to position the opening link 195 no longer on the inner face of the fixing flap 142 but right through from an edge free from the lining panel 501 to the opposite free edge of the lining flap 502 and across the closure panel 140 (Figure 10).

This opening link 195 can therefore be placed in the best desired location, for example directly below the location of stamps or other postage marks, so that opening the container by tearing off the link 195 has the effect of destroying these stamps or other brands, thus making any fraudulent re-use of the container impossible.

Referring now to Figures 14 to 17, we see an embodiment similar to that Figures 1 to 4 and the same elements have the same references.

Here, we observe that the protective edges 165 a and 166 a secured to the lining panels 501 and 502 as well as the protective edges 165 b and 166 b secured to the bellows 503 are a little wider than the protective edges 165 and 166 integral with the side walls 109 and 110.

In this way, when the side walls 109 and 110 are straightened according to the arrows F4 and when the lining panels 501 and 502 are also straightened according to the arrows F10, as shown in Figure 15, the lining panels 501 and 502 are offset towards the interior of the container with respect to said side walls 109 and 110.

Thus, when the container is closed according to arrow F11 (FIG. 16), the panels of doubling always remain parallel to the side walls 109 and 110 and are placed against them, but inside of them and no longer inside.

They are therefore perfectly protected against any external stress that could lift them.

After complete closure, the container is in the form of a parallelepiped Figure 17, with side walls 109 and 110 recessed, the protective edges being visible from the outside.

The embodiment of FIGS. 18 to 23 is an exemplary embodiment of the invention without long-lasting adhesive for keeping container components such as active as walls 108, 109 and 110.

On the other hand, to ensure the closure of the container by the fixing flap 142, it is possible to associate with it a long-acting adhesive tape, as described with regard to Figures 1 to 4.

Here, we chose the “zero adhesive” option as we will see now, but that does not does not concern the glue which, during the manufacturing, is always necessary for the fixing of the edges of protection 165 and 166. Of course, this glue can be replaced by any equivalent technique within the reach of a person skilled in the art (staples for example).

The side walls 109 and 110 are secured to free legs 601 and 602 by a line of folding.

The transverse wall 108 is secured to an end panel 603 by a fold line 604 single or double for a reason which appears further on.

The end panel 603 is less wide than the blank itself because its width is equal, maximum, apart from play, at the distance between the two side walls 109 and 110 straightened and, therefore, placed opposite.

Le panneau d'extrémité 603 est abaissé jusqu'à ce qu'il se place contre la face intérieure de la paroi transversale 108, avec interposition des pattes libres 601 et 602 (figure 20).To put the container in volume from the blank of Figure 18, straighten the walls side 109 and 110 according to arrows F4, then fold the free tabs 601 and 602 according to the arrows F12 (Figure 19) and straighten the transverse wall 108 which is placed against the legs 601 and 602. The end panel 603 is then folded down by folding it along the line 604 which is simple or double depending on the thickness of the material chosen for the constitution of the container. The end panel 603 is lowered until it is placed against the inner face of the transverse wall 108, with interposition of the free legs 601 and 602 (Figure 20).

Once in place, the end panel 603 is held either by the friction resulting from its wedging against the side walls 109-110 and against the base 106, either by means additional: adhesive or tabs, as is known per se.

On a ainsi rendu stable le « corps » ou « fond » du contenant : base 106 et parois 108, 109 et 110.The “body” or “bottom” of the container has thus been made stable: base 106 and walls 108, 109 and 110.

As described above with the other embodiments, the panel is folded down. closure 140 according to arrow F11 by guiding the lining panels 501 and 502 outside side walls 109 and 110 (FIG. 22), then the teeth 222 are folded over the tongue 220 and 223 and this assembly is introduced into the slot 221 of the wall 108.

Grâce à l'espace E qui subsiste entre la paroi 108 et le panneau 603, les dents 222 et 223 peuvent se déployer derrière la paroi 108 et aussi petit que soit l'angle qu'elles forment alors avec la languette 220 proprement dite, elles s'opposent au retrait de celle-ci (figure 21), ce qui crée une fermeture inviolable puisque cette ouverture ne peut être obtenue qu'en révélant la destruction au moins partielle de la languette 220 et/ou de ses dents 222-223.Thanks to the space E which remains between the wall 108 and the panel 603, the teeth 222 and 223 can be deployed behind the wall 108 and as small as the angle they form then with the tongue 220 proper, they oppose the withdrawal thereof (Figure 21), which creates an inviolable closure since this opening can only be obtained by revealing the at least partial destruction of the tongue 220 and / or of its teeth 222-223.

The space E which would result from the simple interposition of a single thickness: that of the legs 601 and 602 may be sufficient but we can make this space E wider by adjusting the spacing between the two fold lines 604.

But these same legs 601 and 602 could hinder the deployment of the teeth 222 and 223 and to avoid this risk, provision is made here for notches 605 and 606 which completely release the space E in the vicinity of the tongue 220.

Le contenant terminé se présente alors sous la forme parallélépipédique de la figure 23.The finished container is then presented in the parallelepiped form of FIG. 23.

The lining panels 501 and 502 are outside the side walls 109 and 110, these appearing set back from the visible edges 165 and 166.

  • In FIGS. 24 to 28, an embodiment has been shown which combines arrangements already described in themselves above:
  • The container body: base 106, walls 108, 109 and 110 is kept in volume by means of a long-acting adhesive placed as described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 4.
  • The container has a covering lid and the lining panels 501 and 502 are made integral with the transverse wall 107 by bellows 503 each formed by only two legs 515 and 516 determined by an oblique fold line which extends to the edge of the blank so that the doubling panels 501 and 502 forming part of the covering cover are placed not only outside the side walls 109 and 110 but at a distance D from them (FIG. 28) as described below. Figures 9 to 13.
  • La patte 515 est solidaire d'un panneau de doublage 501-502 et libre alors que l'autre patte 516 est collée à la paroi transversale 107.Tab 515 is integral with a doubling panel 501-502 and free while the other tab 516 is glued to the transverse wall 107.

  • In FIGS. 29 to 32, another embodiment is shown "zero adhesive" since the body of the container 106-108-109-110 is held in the active position by an end panel 603, as described with reference to FIGS. 18 to 23 and that the covering cover is also kept in volume by a non-glued panel:
  • The side walls 109 and 110 are secured to triangular tabs 124 and 126 themselves secured to other triangular legs 125 and 127 bonded to the inside of the transverse wall 108 but, here, there is no adhesive 130 to maintain them, this effect being obtained by folding the end panel 603 inside the transverse wall 108, with the interposition of the triangular tabs 124-125 and 126-127.
  • The lining panels 501 and 502 are integral with lugs 607 and 608 similar to the lugs 601 and 602 of FIGS. 18 and 19 and which must be folded up as indicated in FIG. 30.
  • The fixing flap 142 is integral with a blocking panel 610 which must be folded inwardly of the covering cover, over the legs 607 and 608 where it gets stuck in the same way as the end panel 603, possibly with the addition of known fixing means.
  • A blocking tab 510 similar to that already described above is cut from the panel 610 so that it appears as previously despite the presence of the blocking panel 610, which allows it to behave in exactly the same way as that already explained (Figure 31).
After closing the container by means of the covering lid (figure 31), the tab 510 is engaged in a slot 511 provided at the base of the transverse wall 108 to contribute to keep the styling cover closed, which can be fixed more firmly, in particular by means of adhesive with prolonged effect, which is not incompatible with the notion of “zero adhesive”, because this expression applies to the means of holding components of the container (body and / or lid) but not when closed.

We understand that here the space E results from a double thickness instead of a single one. The question the deployment of the teeth 222 and 223 does not arise since here a tongue cannot be provided type 220 but a 510 tab.

However, it should be noted that the legs 124-125 and 126-127 bending obliquely, the area median of the transverse wall 108 is completely free.

On the other hand, the end panel 603 having to extend to the immediate vicinity of the base 106, otherwise even on contact, it must be prevented from hindering the engagement of the tab 510, this is why there is a notch 611 in it which perfectly clears the passage of this tab 510.

After folding the panels 603 and 610, there is a container having two parts symmetrical, the body 106-108-603-109-110 and the cover 107-140-142-610-501-502, which it just bring one on top of the other, the cover covering the bell body, the panels 501 and 502 concealing the protective edges 165 and 166.

Here again, this structure allows the use of an opening link 195 arranged under the panel of closure 140 and inside panels 501 and 502.

Use of long-acting adhesive 130 to hold cardboard parts together folded, turns out to be quite satisfactory but if we choose a very robust material, or more precisely that has a lot of "nerve", it can result in efforts to tear off as much more pernicious than they develop over time, so that we can see a detachment not in a few minutes but in several hours or even days.

It is therefore useful to take precautions to increase the safety of fasteners, and therefore the integrity of the closed container.

For this, we can otherwise remove, at least strongly decrease locally the "nerve" material by creating incisions on the fold lines that join two elements to be applied against each other by pivoting along this fold line, then thus kept in the final position by long-acting adhesive.

For this particular use, but also more generally to avoid the disadvantages of elastic characteristics of the material making up the container (cardboard and corrugated cardboard), provides for such incisions as those having the reference 620 in Figure 14, these being used to soften the bellows 503 so that they fold easily when straightening of the transverse wall 107 when the container is closed.

Referring to Figures 33 and 34, we see an embodiment of the invention providing on the one hand, the long-acting adhesive 130 for holding the fixing flap in position 142 and, on the other hand, an opening link 198 which are both on the same face of the blank.

When the blank is made of corrugated cardboard, it is made, as is known per se, by gluing a sheet of corrugated paper between two sheets of flat paper. These combined operations are carried out using a so-called "corrugator" machine which excellent performance measured in hundreds of meters of corrugated cardboard minute.

This very good yield is used here by providing the adhesive 130 and its protective tape 131 as well as the opening link 198 on the same side, because their installation can be done on the corrugator itself, without resumption of work.

In addition, the face which receives the adhesive 130 and its tape 131 as well as the opening link 198 is the upper side of the corrugated board when it is made on the corrugator, which is the situation more favorable for the deposit of these elements 130, 131 and 198.

In FIG. 34, it can thus be seen that the opening link 198, placed on the internal face of the panel 140, is located directly above the area intended to receive a mark postage 199, when the container is erected and closed.

This mark can be reported (stamps, validation sticker, seal, etc.) or printed at even the container.

When the recipient opens the container, he grabs one of two tabs 196 or 197 in order to exert a strong pull on the opening link 198,
    • which cuts right through the closing panel 140, so that the flap 142 remains in place but the closing panel 140 is released and gives access to the packaged objects, without the container itself being dissociated since it remains erected by maintaining the walls 108, 109 and 110 by means of the panel 603,
    • which destroys the franking mark 199, thus making the container non-reusable, unless you pay the transport costs again after having closed it by added means (strip, tape, string, adhesive tape, etc.).

It can be seen in FIG. 34 that the fixing flap 142 is located on the rear face of the container finished, which does not matter, since it suffices to provide location A the name and address of the recipient in an orientation opposite to the usual orientation, what we illustrated by the symbol Y1 which represents the gaze of the reader of the name and the address of the recipient, in location A in Figure 34.

Referring now to FIG. 35, it can be seen that the blank also includes here on the one hand the long-acting adhesive 130 and a protective tape 131, and on the other hand an opening link 195, both arranged on the same face of the blank, namely that which constitutes the internal face of the container when it is drawn up in volume.

The opening link 195 is no longer on the closing panel 140 but on the shutter of attachment 142, approximately half the distance between the adhesive 130 and the line folding 143.

The position of the opening link 195 is therefore independent of that of the brands postage 199 and location A is arranged as usual, as illustrated by the symbol Y2 which appears the look of the reader of the name and the address of the recipient, to location A in Figure 36.

When the container is opened by pulling on the link 195, the flap 142 is cut transversely, which releases the upper part of the shutter 142 and the panel 140 which hold to one another.

Le destinataire accède alors librement au contenu placé sur la base 106.The recipient then has free access to the content placed on the base 106.

Having described several embodiments and variants, it should be recalled that the invention allows to combine in all kinds of ways the different provisions which have been grouped here to title of example: cover or not, use of adhesive with prolonged effect or not, adoption triangular legs to form the bellows, bellows in two or three parts, etc.
