Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method and a device for applying a liquid or pasty medium to a running web of paper or cardboard according to the preamble of the first method claim or the first device claim.
The invention is based on the German patent DE 194 23 48 as the closest prior art. There, a fiber suspension is deposited on a Fourdrinier wire by means of a headbox. The first dewatering elements are located on the side of the screen facing away from the fiber suspension (underside of the screen). A nonwoven forms here. After an initial drainage, a second sieve is placed on the side of the nonwoven fabric that has not been covered by a sieve. Further drainage elements are arranged on the side of this second screen that does not touch the nonwoven fabric. In this area, the nonwoven is drained in the other direction. Opposite, application devices (applicators) are assigned to the screen surface on the underside of the first screen. These application devices bring an application medium (additive) - through the lower sieve - into the fibrous web. The drainage elements (suction devices) of the second screen support the penetration of the application medium into the fibrous web. In the twin-wire area there are essentially only drainage elements on the one side of the screen and on the other other sieve outside arranged only order facilities. The application takes place only on one side of the fibrous web.
A disadvantage of this prior art is that the papers produced, due to the relatively coarse screen structure as a result of the application of the application medium, also have large screen marks, that is to say they have elevations and depressions on the web which reduce the quality of the paper.
It is therefore an object of the invention to find a further method and a further device which results in an improved surface quality.
The object of the invention is achieved by the features of the first method claim or the first device claim.
Der Erfinder hat folgendes erkannt:The inventor recognized the following:
A sieve, which serves both for dewatering and for supporting the fiber web when applying the application medium, can only be optimally designed for one of the two tasks with regard to its mechanical properties. If the sieve is optimally designed for dewatering, it has a relatively large mesh size, so that effective and quick dewatering occurs in the initial area of the sieve section.
Furthermore, the inventor has recognized that screen marks arise on the one hand because the threads of the screen cover part of the fibrous web and therefore on it Make sure that the application medium does not get between the fibrous web and the threads. On the other hand, when the application medium is applied, the application medium accumulates in the area of a mesh. When the screen is detached from the fibrous web surface wetted with application medium, small, disruptive elevations then arise in the area of the screen mesh. The larger the sieve mesh, the larger the elevations in their dimensions. These surveys lead to problems in the further treatment of the fibrous web. Moreover, it can also be advantageous if the screen web, which is opposite the application device, is mechanically designed for an optimally supporting effect, so that the most uniform possible application over the entire screen width results.
Based on the previous considerations, the inventor came to the described solution. Accordingly, it is proposed to design the application process in such a way that the first nonwoven fabric is produced in a first twin wire that is optimally designed for dewatering. The fibrous web is then transferred to a second twin wire, which is optimally designed with regard to its mechanical properties for the application of the application medium in the wire area.
According to a further development of the concept of the invention, the second sieve, through which the application medium is applied to the material web, can be more finely structured, or a porous band, than the first two sieves, which are used for dewatering the sieve web.
In the second twin-wire zone, it is also possible to provide the fibrous web with an application medium from two sides. This has the further advantage that the opposite screen supports the application device. However, it is also possible to apply the application medium from one side only. In this case, only the sieve on this side needs to be finely structured.
The design of the application device can have all known embodiments. An exemplary embodiment is the use of a coating unit in the form of a slot nozzle or doctor device. Furthermore, the application device can be a spray application system.
Another embodiment of the second twin-wire zone according to the invention is the arrangement of further drainage elements. Due to the fine mesh of the screens, the dewatering elements increase the dry content of the fibrous web without leaving any significant screen markings. An alternating arrangement of the drainage elements in the second twin-wire zone also favors the symmetrical sheet structure of the fibrous web.
Directly opposite one another, arranging the dewatering element and application device in the second twin-wire zone results in a more precise guidance of the screens and thus improves the application and dewatering process.
Further refinements of the inventions are in the Subclaims to the first method claim, or to the first device claim and shown in the following description of the figures.
It goes without saying that the features of the invention mentioned above and still to be explained below can be used not only in the respectively specified combination but also in other combinations or on their own without departing from the scope of the invention.

- Fig. 1
- Sieve section of a paper or board machine according to the invention.
In FIG. 1, a stock suspension is injected into a gap between the
In particular, a pre-impregnation of the web and the finer application in the second twin-wire zone with the
With the method according to the invention and the device according to the invention described above, it is now possible to optimally apply the application medium in the wet section of the paper machine, since the application is now carried out with the aid of particularly suitable screens, while the initial dewatering of the nonwoven continues to operate without any restrictions can be. The end result is a significant reduction in the formation of screen marks and a uniform surface of the resulting paper web.
