Definitions

  • the subject of the present invention is a cable termination electric fitted with a filter.
  • the present invention relates to a end of electric cable, in particular two-wire which is equipped with a electric filter and which can be easily connected to a component electric.
  • control system of the cushion itself 2 is produced by an igniter 4 associated with an explosive charge 6.
  • the triggering of the explosive charge is controlled by a system of load control 8 which transmits the control information from the cushion in response to the signal from a shock sensor or accelerometer 12.
  • Document DE 3 740 524 describes a cable termination equipped with a filter assembly. However, this set of filtering is part of a connector itself which includes a housing and electrical contacts.
  • An object of the present invention is to provide a electrical cable termination fitted with a filter element which meet the different conditions set out above to be, in particular but not exclusively, used to connect the system of airbag ignition control.
  • the assembly comprising the filter is very compact and has good resistance to mechanical shock due to the coating means.
  • the use of the room or pieces of ferromagnetic material that surrounds the electrical wires avoids making electrical connections between circuits conventional filtering. This avoids the cost of making these connections as well as the risks of default in said connections.
  • said set of filtering consists of a single piece made of a material ferromagnetic.
  • said single piece is pierced with two holes substantially parallel, each hole receiving one of said electrical conductors isolated.
  • said single piece is pierced with a single hole to receive the two insulated electrical conductors.
  • said set of filtering consists of two separate pieces of material ferromagnetic, each part having a hole for the passage of one of the insulated electrical conductors, said coating means surrounding the two rooms.
  • This figure shows the end 20 of the electric cable two-wire.
  • This electric cable has a sheath 22 and two electrical conductors 24 and 26 which are themselves equipped with a insulator 28.
  • the terminal portion 29 of length L of the cable is stripped partially to remove the sheath 22 and leave only the individual insulators 28 of the conductive elements 24 and 26. We obtain so in this zone 29 of length L two insulated conductors mechanically separated.
  • Electrical filtering is obtained using a cylindrical piece or pearl 32 made of a ferromagnetic material.
  • This piece cylindrical 32 has a diameter D and a thickness E.
  • the part ferromagnetic 32 is pierced with two holes parallel to its axis 34 and 36. In these holes 34 and 36, the two conductive elements are engaged sheathed, the ends of which protrude from the part 32.
  • the diameter of the holes 34 and 36 is very slightly greater than or substantially equal to the external diameter of the sheaths 28. From preferably also, the ends 26a and 24a of the elements conductors are completely stripped to allow their crimping direct to the electrical load which must be connected to cable 20.
  • a coating piece 38 which surrounds the sheath 22 in its end part as well as the cylindrical part 32.
  • This coating by overmolding is carried out using an electrically insulating material such as thermoplastic material, thermoplastic elastomer, elastomer as well as thermosets and having mechanical resistance sufficient.
  • the part of the coating 38 which surrounds the part 32 serves in in addition to its mechanical protection against shocks.
  • the pearl 32 is made in ferrite and its diameter is around 11 mm and its length around 9 mm.
  • its diameter in its terminal part is preferably of the order of 12 mm and the coating is carried out over an axial length of the order of 30 mm.
  • the filtering is of the common mode and differential mode type.
  • the part 32 made of ferromagnetic material is provided with a single hole of sufficient dimensions to allow the passage of two insulated electrical conductors.
  • the coating material 49 provides the mechanical connection between the parts 42-44 and the sheathed electric cable 20 as well as the positioning relative to parts 42 and 44 and therefore to the ends, preferably not insulated, electrical conductors 48a and 48b.
  • Figure 4 gives the equivalent electrical diagram of the electrical termination.
  • the crimps used to connect the termination electrically to the load 56 It will however of course the electrical connection with the load could be carried out differently by not preferably comprising connector itself.
  • the electrical connection could be performed by filler welding, ultrasound or electric welding.
