Claims (7)

  1. Elektrisches Steckverbinderelement (10), mit einem Isolierkörper (12), der elektrische Kontaktelemente (14) aufnimmt, die sich durch den Isolierkörper hindurch erstrecken, und mit einem metallenen Abschirmgehäuse, das wenigstens teilweise den Isolierkörper in seinem vorderen Bereich umgibt und das dazu bestimmt ist, mit dem entsprechenden Teil eines komplementären Steckverbinderelements verbunden zu werden, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es eine Kappe (36) aus isolierendem Material aufweist, die auf den vorderen Teil (18) des Abschirmgehäuses aufgesetzt ist.
  2. Steckverbinderelement nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das metallene Abschirmgehäuse in Form einer vorderen Halbschale (18) und einer hinteren Halbschale (20) ausgeführt ist und daß die Isolierkappe (36) die vordere Halbschale (18) umgibt.
  3. Steckverbinderelement nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die vordere Halbschale (18) einen axialen Abschnitt in der Form eines Mantels (22) aufweist, der sich ungefähr von der Vorderseite (16) des Isolierkörpers (12) ab erstreckt, um den Verbindungsbereich der elektrischen Kontaktelemente (14) zu umgeben, und einen radialen Abschnitt in der Form einer Platte (24) aufweist, die sich in einer zu den Achsen der elektrischen Kontaktelemente senkrechten Ebene erstreckt, wobei die Platte (24) mit einer komplementären Platte (26) der hinteren Halbschale (20) verbunden ist, und daß die Isolierkappe (36) axiale Abschnitte in der Form eines Mantels (38) und radiale Abschnitte in der Form einer Platte (40) aufweist, die die entsprechenden Abschnitte der vorderen Halbschale (18) umgeben.
  4. Steckverbinderelement nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der in der Form einer Platte (40) ausgebildete radiale Abschnitt der Isolierkappe (36) einen axialen hinteren Rand (42) aufweist, der die Außenränder der radialen Abschnitte (24, 26) der vorderen Halbschale (18) und der hinteren Halbschale umgibt, und daß der axiale Rand (42) radiale Einhakzungen (44) der Kappe (36) aufweist, die mit der Rückseite des Abschnitts in der Form einer Platte (26) der hinteren Halbschale (20) zusammenwirken.
  5. Steckverbinderelement nach Anspruch 3 oder 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Vorderseite des in der Form einer Platte (24) ausgebildeten Abschnitts der vorderen Halbschale (18) metallene Mittel (54) zur Verbindung des Steckverbinderelements (10) mit dem komplementären Steckverbinderelement aufweist, und daß die Isolierkappe (36) komplementäre Abschnitte (56) aufweist, die diese Verbindungsmittel umgeben.
  6. Steckverbinderelement nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Verbindungsmittel zwei Elemente mit einem Gewinde aufweisen, die sich in Achsrichtung von der Vorderseite des in der Form einer Platte ausgebildeten Abschnitts der vorderen Halbschale ab erstrecken, die beiderseits des Abschnitts in der Form eines Mantels angeordnet sind.
  7. Steckverbinderelement nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Isolierkappe (36) ein Teil aus geformten Kunststoff ist.
