Claims (5)
- Apparatus for the electrostatic charging of the two outward sides of at least one web of material with charges of opposite polarity, before further processing of the at least one web of material, wherein same is guided through the gap of a pair of rollers (5) which are arranged parallel to each other and at a small spacing from each other, where the electrostatic charging apparatus is formed by the pair of rollers (5), characterised in that each roller has over an outer steel shell a limitedly electrically conductive covering (8), that for electrical charging of the limitedly conductive covering in the gap (50) the steel shell (7) of each roller (5) is connectable to a positive or negative high-voltage source, that the roller (5) which is provided with a spindle (6) or a shaft (20) is arranged in a machine frame (10), that the spindle (6) or the shaft (20) of the roller (5) is connected by an electrically conducting bearing to the steel shell (7) and electrically insulated from the machine frame (10), that the size of the gap (50) between the rollers (5) is adjustable and that the rollers (5) are pressed with an adjustable force against the two outward sides of the at least one web of material.
- Apparatus according to claim 1 characterised in that the electrical high voltage can be applied by way of a connection which is in the form of a thrust bearing (23) arranged at the end (14) of the shaft (20).
- Apparatus for the electrostatic charging of the two outward sides of at least one web of material with charges of opposite polarity, before further processing of the at least one web of material, wherein same is guided through the gap of a pair of rollers (5) which are arranged parallel to each other and at a small spacing from each other, where the electrostatic charging apparatus is formed by the pair of rollers (5), characterised in that each roller has over an outer steel shell a limitedly electrically conductive covering (8), that for electrical charging of the limitedly conductive covering in the gap (50) the steel shell (7) of each roller (5) is connectable to a positive or negative high-voltage source, that a primary coil (117) is arranged fixedly with respect to the machine frame (10, 120) concentrically with respect to the spindle or shaft (6) of the roller (5) beside same, that a secondary coil (114) is arranged fixedly rotating with the roller (5) concentrically with respect to the spindle or shaft (6) of the roller (5) at the one end (112) thereof, that a connection thereof is connected to the spindle or shaft (6) and the connection thereof is connected by way of a rectifier circuit (122) to the steel shell (7) (8), and that the size of the gap (50) between the rollers (5) is adjustable and that the rollers (5) are pressed with an adjustable force against the two outward sides of the at least one web of material.
- Apparatus according to claim 3 characterised in that a smoothing circuit (123) for the pulsating direct current is arranged between the rectifier circuit (122) and the limitedly conductive covering (8).
- Apparatus according to claim 3 or claim 4 characterised in that associated with the primary coil (117) is a second primary coil (118) and associated with the secondary coil (114) is a second secondary coil (115) which rotates therewith and which is connected in parallel therewith and which is in opposite relationship to the second primary coil (118).
