Operating device of an electrical protection apparatus such as a circuit breaker housed in an insulating case containing a pair of contacts, one stationary (1) and one movable (2), said movable contact (2) being able to be actuated either manually by a handle mounted pivoting between a closed position and an open position of the contacts (1,2) and returned to the open position by a spring of the handle, or automatically by means of a mechanism M comprising:
    - a support device (9) of the movable contact (2) mounted in rotation between the two above-mentioned positions and connected to the handle (5) by a transmission means so as to form a breakable mechanical link between the device and the handle (5),
    - a tripping means (8) operated by a trip device to cause breaking of the mechanical link L, in the event of an electrical fault, resulting in automatic tripping of the mechanism M and separation of the contacts (1,2), independently from the handle (5),
    - a means for returning the tripping means (8) to a set position enabling automatic resetting of the mechanism M when the handle (5) is in the open position, and
    - a means S for indicating the tripped state of the circuit breaker by an intermediate position of the handle (5),
    characterized in that this means S comprises a click (13) mounted on the handle (5) operating in conjunction with a stop (14) arranged on a part (9) of the above-mentioned mechanism M so as to keep the handle (5) in an intermediate position during its opening movement after the mechanical link L between the handle (5) and the support device (9) has been broken resulting in automatic tripping.
  2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the above-mentioned stop (14) is arranged on the support device (9).
  3. Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the support device comprises a plate (9) and that the above-mentioned stop (14) is securedly affixed to this plate (9).
  4. Device according to claim 3, characterized in that the inertia of the parts of the mechanism M and of the handle (5) and the stiffness of the springs are determined in such a way that the plate (9) is in its position called open equilibrium position before the handle (5) has started its opening movement.
  5. Device according to any one of the claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the click (13) is mounted freely rotating with respect to the handle (5) around the spindle (6) of the handle (5) and is driven in rotation by the handle (5) during opening and closing of the latter.
  6. Device according to claim 5, characterized in that the handle (5) comprises a spline (15) designed to drive the click (13) during closing of the handle (5), said spline (15) also being designed to retract to move to the other side of the click (13) when closing takes place on a mechanism kept open, so as to enable closing of the handle (5) whereas the contacts (1, 2) have not reclosed.
  7. Device according to any one of the claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the handle (5) comprises a bearing surface (16) designed to hold the click (13) near the stop (14) between the moment the spline (15) retracts and the beginning of a new opening operation of the handle (5).
  8. Device according to any one of the claims 1 to 7, characterized in that when the handle (5) is reset, the click (13) pushes the stop (14) against the force of the return spring of the support device (9).
  9. Device according to any one of the claims 6 to 8, characterized in that the spline (15) is arranged on the handle (5) in such a way that the click (13) is in the waiting position with respect to the stop (14) after closing of the handle (5).
  10. Device according to any one of the foregoing claims, characterized in that it comprises a stop (18) which is fixed with respect to the handle (5) and designed to limit rotation of the click (13) when opening of the handle (5) takes place after closing on contacts (1, 2) kept open, so as to make the spline (15) move to the other side of the click (13).
  11. Device according to any one of the foregoing claims, characterized in that the above-mentioned breakable mechanical link L comprises a transmission rod (7) articulated by one of its ends on the handle (5) and coupled by its other end with a hook (10) articulated on the plate (9) and operating in conjunction with the trip bar (8).
  12. Circuit breaker equipped with a device D according to any one of the foregoing claims.
