Claims (5)

  1. Single-pole or multi-pole protective electrical switch device for cutting off current after automatic tripping in the event of a short-circuit overcurrent or in response to manual operation, the device comprising in a casing:
    - at least one fixed contact (12) and one mobile contact (13),
    - a movable arm (14) carrying the mobile contact (13) and spring-loaded in the direction of closing the contacts,
    - a trip member (19) operating in response to a short-circuit overcurrent, an automatic trip lock (25) cooperating with the contact-holder arm (14) to displace the latter in the direction of opening the contacts,
    - a mobile arc cut-off screen (27) occupying a rest position into which it is urged by a return spring (30) and which is inserted between the contacts by the trip member in response to a short-circuit overcurrent,
    - a manual operation member (32) coupled to a mobile swing arm (33) having a first bearing member (38) serving as a contact-holder arm (14) drive member adapted to displace said arm (14) in the direction of opening the contacts by operation of the manual operation member (32),
    characterised in that the swing arm (33) further comprises a drive member (39) which cooperates with the screen (27) to drive the latter against its return spring (30) during manual opening of the contacts, said bearing member (38) and said drive member (39) being positioned relative to each other on the swing arm (33) in such a way that the bearing member (38) first opens the contacts and the drive member (39) then inserts the screen (27) between the opened contacts.
  2. Electrical switch device according to claim 1,
    characterised in that the screen drive member comprises a projecting finger (39) on the swing arm (33) and cooperating with a shoulder (27a) on the screen (27) during manual opening of the contacts.
  3. Electrical switch device according to claim 2, in which the screen (27) for cutting the arc is of the rotary type,
    characterised in that the shoulder (27a) is at the periphery of the screen.
  4. Electrical switch device according to claim 3,
    characterised in that the swing arm (33) is pivotally mounted on a bearing (34) whose axis is parallel to the rotation axis of the screen (27).
  5. Electrical switch device according to any one of claims 2 to 4,
    characterised in that the swing arm (33) further comprises the contact-holder arm drive member (38), the respective drive members (38, 39) of the contact-holder arm (14) and of the screen (27) being positioned relative to each other on the swing arm (33) such that, after operation of the manual operation member (32), displacement of the swing arm first opens the contacts and then inserts the screen between the contacts.
