Definitions

  • the invention relates to a heel for fixing safety of a boot on a ski, comprising a tubular fixing body rigidly secured to a sole grip and articulated around a cam transverse part of a stirrup integral with a swivel plate mounted on a slide along which it can be positioned by means of positioning actuated from the rear, the body fastener containing at least one spring working in compression between a piston resting on the cam and a integral stop or consisting of an adjustment screw, the cam being formed in a cylindrical part serving axis of rotation of the body and having a flat extending parallel to the axis of said part cylindrical, the piston being supported on this flat in closed position of the heel.
  • the positioning means are generally consisting of a longitudinal screw in taken with a cycloidal teeth of the slide, this screw being actuated by a screwdriver.
  • FR 2510898 and FR 2502019 describe also heel pieces according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the piston In the open position of this heel piece, the piston rests on the cylindrical part of the cam.
  • the body binding can tilt until touching the ski and thus hinder access to the means for adjusting the position of the heel piece on its slide.
  • the main purpose of the invention is to limit the opening of the heel so as to leave free access to the means for adjusting the position of the heel piece on its slide.
  • the heel piece according to the invention is characterized in that the area of the cam on which the piston rests in the open position of the heel piece, is shaped so as to limit the tilting of the fixing body when opening the heel.
  • said zone consists in a second flat, less important than the first flat but sufficient to hold the body of fixation thanks to the significant force exerted by the comes out in this position.
  • This position is in additionally stable, which effectively prevents unexpected and sudden closure of the heel when a shock on the fixing body.
  • said zone of the cam has a projection limiting the rotation of the cam relative to the piston.
  • This projection can present a plane face tangent to the part cylindrical of the cam. This flat face therefore constitutes a flat that you do not feel when closing fixation, unlike a real secant flat according to the first embodiment.
  • the attachment shown is characterized by a body cylindrical tubular 1 came in one piece with a heel grip 1a.
  • This body 1 is articulated around a cam 10 forming part of a U-shaped stirrup 2 integral with a pivoting mounted base plate 4 of known manner on a base 24 itself mounted on a slide 25 on which it can be moved by means of a screw 26 secured to the base and in engagement with teeth on the slide.
  • the slide is fixed on a ski 27.
  • Body 1 is open to both ends, i.e. also open on the side of the heel grip 1a.
  • It contains a coil spring main 5, working in compression between a piston 6 and a nut-shaped stop 7 mounted on a screw 8 provided with a flange 8a by which the screw is supported on a surface 1b of the body 1 surrounding the opening upper part of the body 1.
  • a sliding washer 9 is interposed between the flange 8a and the bearing 1b.
  • the piston 6 rests on cam 10 in general form of cylindrical axis, diametrically crossing the body 1 and whose middle part, which constitutes the cam proper, has a flat 11.
  • the arms -of the stirrup 2 are fixed to the ends of this cam 10 by profiled parts so as to prevent rotation of the cam 10.
  • the body 1 has a bore 12 for its rotation around the cam 10.
  • Inside spring 5 is further mounted an auxiliary spring 13 which works in compression between the piston 6 and a washer 14 retained on a bearing 8b of the end of the screw 8.
  • the body 1 also has two longitudinal slots 15 and 16 parallel to the axis of the springs and of the screw, arranged on each side of the body 1.
  • the stop 7 is provided with two arms 7a and 7b engaged in the slot 15, respectively 16 and being able to slide freely in these slots. At the edges of the slots are engraved 17 graduations to read the position of the cursor formed by nut 7.
  • the cylindrical body 1 is surrounded by an envelope 18 made of transparent synthetic material in at least the reading area of the setting display.
  • the cam 10 has a shallow and perpendicular auxiliary flat 21 on the main flat 11.
  • the opening of the heel is made by tilting the body 1 around cam 10, which has the effect of pushing back piston 6 and compress the springs, as shown in Figure 4.
  • the piston reaches support on the auxiliary flat 21 it is retained in this stable position by the force of the springs. It is certainly possible to go beyond this position, but this requires special effort.
  • Body 1 occupies the position shown in Figure 1. In this position the space remaining between the body 1 and the ski 27 provides good access to the adjusting screw 26.
  • the cam 10 has a radial projection 22 forming an angle of about 35 ° with the plane of the flat 11, this last one a little further from the center of the cam than in the first embodiment.
  • the tilting of the body fixing 1 is limited by the abutment of the piston 6 against the projection 22.
  • the projection can be attached or coming from a part with the cam 10.
  • the cam 10 is provided with a protuberance 23 forming a planar bearing surface tangent to the cylindrical surface of the cam.
  • the diameter passing through the top of the protuberance 23 forms an angle of about 25 ° with the flat 11.
  • the cam provides great resistance against rotation of the fixing body beyond the position shown, while closing the binding from this position is performed without encountering resistance special.
